It's a Question of Belonging

Bella came in looking worried

Her words came out rather hurried.

"Ms. Rue can I please talk to you?

CG said something to me

That's caused me to worry?"

*CG again, what is going on?

She just caused a scene at the hotel

And then was gone.*

Rue couldn't worry about that now

Though she knew she'd have to talk

To her somehow.

Bess was now settled.

Her room upgraded.

The least Rue could do

For her being degraded.

Satchel and Lotta were on standby

"One more wrong move

I want you to ditch that guy.

His sort is the last thing we need

So if he must be removed

Lets' do it with speed."

Lotta and Satchel agreed.

Rue got some ice from the kitchen

Made up a pack,

She didn't like the fact

That Ronan was attacked.

He really didn't want her to fuss.

"I'm good. I'm fine."

Ronan grinned...

"I'll remember to duck next time.

It is still good to know that you care."

"Of course I do," Rue handed him the ice

But she walked away, 

she just couldn't go there.

Where Ronan was concerned

There was little she could do.

She wished he didn't take so many risks

*But that's not up to you.

He'll do what he wants to do.*

"Bella, how can I help you?"

"I have a question about the Kit-Kat

Who brought the horse to Petra?"

"You mean Chitchat?"

Bella shrugged not knowing the name.

"CG says the horse belongs to him

And that I should be ashamed

To give someone else's horse away

Like I had to Josie the other day.

I'm afraid I've done something wrong

CG said it was illegal.

To whom does the horse belong?"

"Chitchat found the colt

Separated from its rag.

He brought it to Petra to keep

The horse doesn't have a tag.

Kit-Kats believe all animals have a soul

To co-exist with them is our goal.

This world is just as much ours

As it is there's, 

so the horse

Belongs to no one, of course.

If there is a question of ownership

I guess Josie could apply for a license

To avoid any possible crisis.

But I can't imagine who would lay claim

The horse was obviously wild and

Needed to be tamed.

So, the way I see it

No harm no foul.

There was no law broken

The colt belongs to Josie now."

Bella gave a sigh of relief

"I was really scared there, Good grief!

I'll let Jacob know,

I guess it's still best

to put it in writing though."

Rue shrugged, "That's up to them

Whatever they'd like to do."

Bella smiled.

"Thank you, Rue!"

CG's words ate at Rue

All-day long.

She kept wondering

What she's doing wrong.

"First it was about Billy?

Then Jujube?

Now CG is upset that Jacob

Shows interest in me.

She's been championing Ronan

Which Rue found a surprise.

Since when he first came to town

CG thought spending time

with him unwise.

*But to say those things about me

That everyone can see

I'm failing as a person.*

"But I'm the only one

telling it to you!" said CG.

"Maybe she's right

I don't belong

Perhaps trying to settle here

Is wrong?

I'm trying to fit in

I wish to find my place

But maybe it just can't be

And it's something I should face."
