When Eddward wakes up the next morning he feels like shit. Not only did he not sleep well, his eyes are still stinging from the breakdown he had after the ginger left. When he gets to his car he notices that Kevin's bike is already gone. He heads to the station and rolls his eyes when he sees the gaggle of giggling girls hanging all over Kevin yet again. Eddward walks away and Kevin quickly runs after him. "What do you want you shit bag?" Eddward growls more annoyed than usual due to his lack of sleep. "Jeez relax man. I just wanted you to know we are being sent to the city today. The cheif told me to tell you." The redhead says before walking away with the girls. Eddward sighs. It's not that he hates the city, it's just the fact he knows he's in for a long day. Even longer now that he has to spend it with the ginger.

When they get to their squad car they remain silent as Kevin drives them over to the city. The first hour is pretty dull. Nothing more than speeders. However a much more interesting call comes over the radio. "We have a home invasion in progress on 348 west berry apartment B. The suspects are armed, please proceed with caution." The ginger then grins and turns on the sirens. "You ready?" He says speeding down the streets of the city. Eddward doesn't say a word as they rush to the apartment complex. Once they get closer Kevin cuts the sirens so they don't alarm the suspects and they can sneak up on them. They also park about a street away and rush to the complex. Kevin gives Eddward a look and Eddward nods then Kevin kicks in the door. "Police! Freeze!" The redhead shouts but there is no one around that can be seen.

Kevin and Eddward check every corner. "Why don't we separate?" Eddward suggests quietly and Kevin nods in agreement as they search separate corners of the apartment. After about 5 minutes of searching they see nothing and meet back in the center. Just as they are about to clear the apartment someone runs into the room with them and jumps on Eddward's back. The Raven thinks fast and throws himself against the wall which sandwiches the suspect causing him to fall to the ground. Eddward quickly cuffs him. "Sweet shit! We got him!" Kevin says but then his eyes widen as he notices another suspect this time with a gun rushing towards Eddward so he pushes him out the way. The suspect shoots and hits Kevin in the abdomen and as the redhead tackles the suspect he ends up hitting his head hard which knocks him out. "FUCK! KEVIN!" Eddward shouts when he sees the redhead on the ground. He first cuffs the second suspect and rushes to the unconscious ginger's side. He checks for where the wound is and sees the blood coming out Kevin's abdomen before calling for a medic and back up then holding Kevin tightly. "Come on you asshole wake up already let me know you're okay!" There is obviously no response and The Raven pulls the redhead closer to him. "Kevin...come on! Wake up, punch me, call me an asshole, something anything." He feels terrified especially when he notices the redheads breathing is becoming weaker. When the paramedics arrive he demands to go with them.
"I'm sorry Officer Rockwell but you have to wait here." The medic says. "No, Fuck you. I'm going. I'm not going to sit by as the man I'm in love with is injured badly." Just as he finishes this confession back up arrives so he is free to go. He jumps into the ambulance sitting by Kevin's side and not letting his hand go.

Once they arrive the redhead is rushed to the back and Eddward is left to wait in the waiting area. Eventually a doctor calls out for him and he rushes to stand up and meet with the Doctor. "Officer Rockwell, I have good news! It seems that the bullet officer Barr took missed anything vital. He is expected to make a full recovery. However he is not allowed to work for at least the next 6 weeks. He is still unconscious, he hit his head pretty hard but luckily there was no concussion. You are allowed to see him though if you wish." Eddward thanks the doctor and rushes to Kevin's room and sits a chair right next to his bedside. He is relived the redhead is alive but his tears can't help but fall. "Since I know you're knocked out I can say this..." He says before grabbing Kevin's hand and holding it tightly. "Kevin. I'm still in love with you, I never fell out of love with you. I've been so hurt for so many years though since you left which is why I pushed you away. You are an asshole you really are. However, you're the only asshole I want to put up with on a daily basis..."
Eddward admits all this as a tear falls onto Kevin's hand and he nearly falls out his chair when the same hand reaches up and wipes his tears away.
