Edgar Vaughn Wilson

Skinny fingers flick the cigarette as smoke puffs from the lungs. There's bags under his eyes, dark and heavy. Not to mention his hairs a mess, and he's always got this five o clock shadow going on, where he's too lazy to actually shave it all off.

Who is this?

This is Edgar Vaughn Wilson.
First cousin of Everett Grey Wilson. Son of Windle Wilson, and the long lost Jane Wilson. His mother walked out on them, but his father was a bad man rolling with a gang. So in the end, Edgar was raised by his grandmother. The only saint in the entire family probably, besides Everett's father, who died young.

Secretly, Edgar wished he had a father like Everett. When they were young, Edgar would avoid Everett when his father brought him to visit. Resenting him for having a father who actually cared about him.

That changed however. Everett's father ended up dying in a freak accident, caused by Everett himself. Then his grandmother told him about Everett's mother, and how she was a prostitute and she had been pimping Everett out to old men. He was being raped and needed a place to go instead of foster care or an orphanage. So, grandma allowed Everett to move in with the two of them.
Everett was quiet...and skinny. So skinny.

Edgar felt guilt, having resented him for so long. So he tried to befriend him. Sharing food, snacks, toys. They were so young, but Edgar knew Everett needed a friend. Soon the two boys became just that, friends. Good friends actually. Everett often told Edgar of the horrors he'd been put through by his mother, and how he killed his father. Edgar would try to convince him that it was an accident and not his fault but Everett seemed sure in his actions.

Grandma died, and they both ended up in an orphanage, together, at least. They started going to school, and Edgar ignored the bullying and focused on school work. His dream was to become a mechanic, just like grandpa. Everett however, couldn't take the bullying. It was a struggle every day for him, and eventually, he just stopped going and left the orphanage.

What happened after that, Edgar had no idea until later on in life. Everett had apparently joined a gang, and then they turned on him and beat him until his ankle was crippled.
Through it all, Edgar tried to remain close to him, being his closest friend, all while still maintaining some schooling to become a mechanic.

It was tough, but in the end, they're still close. They call and chat and Edgar checks up on Everett, trying to get him to move in with him some days. Though it was obvious Everett wished to be on his own.

Still, Edgar loves him.
