"Pet. Wake up." I opened my eyes to see Toby standing above me. Next to him was Tim and Brian. "Something changed. We need to leave as soon as possible."

"Why? What's happening?" I asked as I scrambled to my feet, grabbing my blanket. They didn't answer, only hastily leaving the door. As I followed, I could feel der Großmann's presence close behind. A dizziness washed over me, and I felt a small trickle of blood leak from my nose. "Guys-" I blacked out as they turned.

It wasn't until dark when I awoke. Though still dizzy, I was able to recognize Toby giving me a piggy-back ride as they all sped through trees and bushes. I rested my head on his shoulders, listening to his soft grunts, and feeling his arm twitch every few seconds. I couldn't keep my eyes open for too long, before the greens and browns blurred and caused me to become lightheaded. It wasn't long before I dozed off, lulled to sleep by the rhythmic thumping of the ground beneath us.

I wandered aimlessly. Trees seemed to repeat for sometime, until I found myself on a tree lined path. Darkness surrounded me, preventing my sight from exceeding directly in front of me. As I continued forward, still unsure of my goal, something caught my eye. But, when I gazed over, it was no longer there. So I continued on. Except, just my body. I watched myself from a third person point of view, following my body close behind as it pushed forward.

Some time passed before I heard a strange thud! Turning around, curious to see what distracted me, I saw my body on the ground. Advancing, fear suddenly consumed me. There I was, blood gushing from several deep, large gashes. Cuts covered me head to toe, bruises as dark as the black around me. Then, as I stepped closer to the pool of dark red blood, smelling the bitterness, I saw my face. Horror plastered on for all eternity, one of my eyes were unrecognizable, as it had been stabbed and dripping blood.

My eyes traveled down the corpse, landing on the arms and legs. Cuts ran up and down, thin but deep. They were more prominent near the wrist and achilles, but not on the main arteries. One of my arms was a dark purple, sticking out at an odd angle.

A dreadful sound of screams and cries echoed in my mind, growing louder by the second. I felt the shock set in, causing me to back up, covering my mouth, and beginning to hyperventilate. Tears pushed at the back of my eyes, and vomit threatened to spill onto the ground, mixing with the ever growing puddle around my body. My bloodied and matted hair soaked in the puddle.

Gore is finished. Thank you.

I woke to the feeling of cool rain drops hitting my face. Lifting my now cleared head, I realized I was alone, in a clearing. Darkened trees surrounded me, loose, dead branches dangling close to the ground. I stood, brushing off my clothes, and examining my surroundings.

Not even 30 seconds later, a rustling came from behind me. Spinning, I saw a silhouette emerge from the trees, relieved to see it was Toby. "(Y/N)! What happened? Are you okay?" I nodded, but not before he sprinted to me, checking me for any casualties. "What happened?" He repeated, nervously looking into my eyes. I backed up, seeing the worry in his sparkling, gold eyes.

"I don't know, I just woke up here."

"What do you mean?"

"What do you mean, 'what do you mean?', I just woke up here!" The panic started to set in, seeing as it was the first time neither of us had any idea what was going on.

"I heard you screaming! How could you just have woken up?" He grabbed me roughly by my arms, leaning down until he was face to face with me.

"I wasn't screaming! Do you think it was der Großmann?"

He took a deep sigh, letting go. "Maybe, but he would be near, I don't feel him." He pinched the bridge of his nose, looking around us. "Listen, we should go, find the others, and hide." I could only nod in agreement.

"Wait... hide from what? Why did we have to leave in such haste before?" I questioned fearfully.

"Well..."

"Well?"

"You understand that there are more of us proxies, right?"

"Yes."

"All of us proxies went through the same process, but had different results. Some of us successfully became proxies, some not so much."

"How so?" I almost regretted asking.

"Take us, for example. Both of us went through the process of becoming a proxy, and we turned out as we should've. Intelligent, though easily controlled, able to successfully manage, or carry out, Mr. TallMan's plans. Others... others can turn out defective. They go insane, they... they... become ghosts of themselves. Difficult to control, no longer capable of carrying out their tasks."

"So what does this matter to us?"

"I'm getting to that!" he snapped, "there was obviously a first proxy. We call him The Observer. He was defective, insane, and difficult to control, at times. But the Slenderman kept him alive, because he was strong, quick, cunning. When he was able to be controlled, he was unstoppable. But as more and more proxies join, he gets jealous."

"Because he is no longer der Großmann's go-to proxy?" Slowly but surely, the pieces were fitting together. Toby nodded in return.

"News has spread that there is a new proxy. And, he is currently searching for her, to kill her, and many others." I shuddered, afraid that he might say that. We continued in silence, unable to create any other conversation.

My legs soon felt weak. We had been walking aimlessly for hours, and I was wondering if we'd ever find the others. "Toby, wait a minute, let's take a break."

"No."

"Toby, we've been moving for hours to no avail. Come on." He paused, then nodded. As we sat under a tree, I could tell he was on edge. "Don't you have any way of contacting them?"

"We always have certain areas that we all meet up in, if necessary. We decided on a more secret spot."

"Then let's head there! They might already be there!" Why we hadn't just gone there in the first place, I may never have known. He slowly nodded, taking my hand and guiding me through the forest.

He took me to a strange, crumbling building. It seemed to be a school at one point, but it had been hidden by weeds, vines. Windows had been smashed in, the ceiling and walls all caved in. We carefully stepped inside, climbing a set of stairs into an attic-like area. "Stay here, I'll go see if the others are here." He then left without another word.

Every once in a while I would hear the crunching of glass below me, the building almost shifting with the newcomers, but I stayed in the dark corner of the storage area. Finally I heard footsteps making their way upstairs. "(Y/N)?" I stepped from the shadows. I could feel the anger radiating off Toby. "They aren't here."

He made his way, sitting next to me in the shadows, behind old boxes. "I'm sure they'll be okay. Maybe they had to go back for something. Der Großmann wouldn't just let them die."

"Oh please, the amount of death defying crap we pulled? I wouldn't be surprised." He scooted closer to me, until our shoulders touched. I couldn't help but look up at him, noticing he was watching me. Hesitantly, I rested my head on his shoulder. A tiredness swept over me, which left me oblivious to him leaning down, and planting a kiss on my forehead. In shock, I looked back to him, but I was met with another messy kiss on my lips.

It had only been a matter of seconds before it began to get heated, him rolling on top of me, and dropping my jacket and top to the floor. We rubbed against each other, hungry for more, but too focused on the kisses that trailed from lips, to chin, to neck and down.

"Awww, that's quite sweet. Why don't you let me have a shot before I have to kill you?" Said an echoey, high pitched voice from behind. Toby quickly sat up, fear embedded in his hazel eyes with golden flecks. It glanced over his shoulder to see a shadow person, gazing down upon us both. We hadn't heard him come in, and he was right at my feet.
