You waited, and waited, every day. You prayed every day and you hoped to whatever God was listening every day. Praying to see him again, safe and sound.

You live in Zhouzhuan, China. A small village between Shanghai and Suzhou in China's Jiangsu province. It was a beautiful town which you grew up in, and had hoped to spend your entire life in. You grew up alongside a certain brow haired male; Ren Wu Sun. The both of you had played beyblade together, meditated together, sparred together, and at the end of the day, you ate together. He was the perfect company to match with your perky and hyper nature.

You'd always be the one to spur him on, and come up with the best pep talks for whenever he looked even the slightest bit doubtful. You always knew what to say to make him feel better.

Ren Wu soon participated in more beyblading events while you had no choice but to run chores. Soon your only younger sister had fallen ill, and you had to take care of her for pretty much all day. Between events and practice, Ren Wu would stop by for a visit, bringing rice or buns for the three of you to eat together.

Your sister's illness worsened, there was hardly anything you could do asides from give her medicine and convince her to eat. Over the time you were silently suffering alongside your younger sibling, Ren Wu had drastically risen in the beyblading world. You were proud of him, really. . . But the last day you'd seen him for a year, was utterly heart breaking.

"How is your sister doing?" The brown haired male slipped off his shoes and welcomed himself inside the flat - it was normal at this point to have him inside the house. If he couldn't find you then he'd let himself inside anyway, you didn't mind though. He padded after you to your sister's room and opened the sliding door. The little girl was asleep on a laid out mattress, a cold dampened cloth sitting on her little forehead.

"The same as usual." You responded quietly. Your attitude had changed, you were no longer the bright and cheerful girl that you were as a kid. Things were so much more different now. Ren Wu softened his dark blue eyes, waiting for a moment before speaking again.

"I brought you some wonton soup from the market, please have it now." He lifted a white plastic bag with the handle's tied. A small smile marred your features, and you nodded. The both of you stood up and left to the dining room to eat - which was basically a low table and some cushions. You served for yourself and the boy, leaving enough for your little sister later on when she'd wake up.

"Thank you, ahh, I haven't had granny's soup in forever." With a smile still evident, you stirred the soup around with a spoon and blew at the steam. You were well associated with the ladies at the market, especially the old woman that sold her delicious soup - she'd always give you extra, saying you need to grow up strong to protect your sister.

Ren Wu didn't eat much, he seemed rather uncomfortable even. The soup was for you, but you insisted he had some - a long time ago he used to love this stuff just like you did.

"[Y/n]. I have something I need to tell you." Ren Wu muttered under his breath, staring at the broth in front of him.

"Yes? What is it?" You lifted your head.

". . . I'll be going to Brazil soon. I'm leaving China."

Your expression fell, what were you supposed to say. . . He clearly expected this reaction from you, but he didn't know what to do about it, either.

"Ren Wu. . ." You lowered your eyes, it'll be a fight not to end up crying.

"I'm sorry, [Y/n]. I'll be back, I'm only going for a while for beyblade. I'll win the tournament and come right back to you, I promise." He slammed a fist against his chest. Ren Wu never broke his promises, so you believed him. You nodded your head and fully supported him. The same day before leaving your home, he planted a small kiss on your lips and promised yet again, to be back soon.

It's been a year. Your sister had passed away, and you just waited every day for him to come home. It was so lonely, your parents were busy and no one else had time for you. It hurt like hell to go on another day, slowly doubting Ren Wu more and more.

"Granny, some wonton noodle soup please." You lifted a hand to catch the woman's attention, giving her a weak smile before handing over some notes and a few coins.

"Of course, of course my dear!" She chimed, gesturing for you to sit down while she prepared it. You heaved a small sigh, sitting yourself down by the table and impatiently tapping your fingers. There was a little television off in the corner, all the old men usually gathered to watch together, cheering on their country's representatives in whatever sport was popular at the time. Your eyes strayed off to the dim screen, hoping for some sort of entertainment.

Ah, beyblade. You were familiar with this sport, so you stood up and sat a few seats closer.

"Little miss must be interested." One of the grandfather's jested, chucking afterwards. You looked over your shoulder and gave him a small smile.

The announcer said something you couldn't understand due to the old speakers, but the next person that was on screen definitely caught your attention. A vibrant blue qi pao, traditional Chinese wear. A long braid down his back, and dark blue eyes you knew all too well. Your eyes were wide, staring at the rest of the battle - not even realizing the granny had already finished your soup.

A part of you was so unbelievably proud of him, you were so happy for him, your eyes were brimming with tears. The other part. . . Was defeated and betrayed. All this time he was doing well, and hadn't even bothered to send you a letter, a phone call, any sort of contact at all. It was as if he'd cut off ties with you on purpose - but you desperately didn't want that to be his true intention.

Thanks to that little stunt of his, worried out of our damn mind, you decided to travel to Brazil. After a week of nonstop research, you found out the perfect way to get there, and found out where exactly he was. A dojo off in Brazil, as expected.

It took a while, but you managed to convince your parents to let you go to Brazil. Your excuse was beyblade, and you'd be doing something productive there, as well as furthering your studies. You were their only daughter now, and they didn't want to trap you down anymore. After saying goodbye to everyone back home, you purchased a ticket, took a train to Shanghai, and from the airport, boarded a plane straight to Brazil.

First, the language barrier made you feel like an alien that had just landed on earth. You couldn't understand a word of Portuguese, and silly you forgot to study up on it before coming here. It took a while to find people who spoke English to help you, but even when you couldn't find one, the people born here still tried to help you. Even though you couldn't understand one another in the slightest, you managed to make friends and exchange names. These people were lovely.

Finally you reached the dojo, which seemed to be completely deserted from outside. There were a pair of huge doors standing tall in front of you, so lifting a hand, you knocked.

"Hey! Lookin' for somethin'?"

Letting out a small squeak, you spun on your heel to come face to face with. . . Someone's chest? Stumbling back, you lifted your head and caught sight of a face. So it was a human, good. Spiked red hair, striking red eyes, a huge grin, and sharp teeth - who in gods name was this person?

"Uhh, are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost." He mumbled, bending over to your height and waving a hand in front of your face. You shook your head.

"I-I'm fine. Thank you." You bowed your head slightly. "I'm looking for someone named Ren Wu Sun, by any chance do you know him?" Eyes filled with hope, you clasped your hands together.

"Ren Wu, huh? Yeah I know him!" The male chirped. "He doesn't take visitors though, unless. . .?"

"I'm from China! We grew up in the same town, we know one another." You piped up.

"Oh! Okay, perfect! Follow me, I'll take you to him. The name's Xander by the way, nice to meet'cha little miss." Flaring a hand out, he gave you a short wink before effortlessly pushing opening one of the doors for you.

"The pleasure is all mine, Xander. My name is [Y/n]." You pulled a bright smile, scampering after the friendly giant. He escorted you into a room with a sliding door. As soon as it was opened, you caught sight of Ren Wu sitting with his legs crossed, and eyes closed. Daily meditation, of course.

"Yo, Ren Wu. I got some pretty girl here who said she knows ya." Xander pointed over at you with a thumb, propping a hand on his waist. Ren Wu didn't say anything. Xander rolled his eyes. "Heyyy, I'm talking to you man. Can't you pause your session for at least a second? Don't keep a lady waiting."

Xander was a riot, you were trying not to laugh.

"I'm busy." Ren Wu stated bluntly, without opening an eye. It'd be considered rude to not welcome a guest, but it was also rude to interrupt meditation. You knew Ren Wu very well though, so this was only funny to you.

"Too busy for me, right? Hah, I see how it is." You jested, crossing your arms and faking hurt.

"[Y/n]-?" His eyes immediately snapped open. That did the trick.

"What does she have that I don't?" Xander twisted his face, earning a dead expression from Ren Wu.

"Get out already."

"Alright, alright." Lifting his arms behind his head, the red haired giant left after giving you a small wave. "If you guys need some green tea, lemme know."

"Xander!"

"Okay! Okay! I'm gone!" Now he really was gone.

Ren Wu immediately stood up and rushed over to you, placing his arms on each of your arms.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, softening his dark eyes at the sight of you.

"I'm here to see you, obviously." You muttered, pouting. Letting out a small laugh, the brunette pulled you into a hug, which you happily returned. All your anger melted, you were just too happy to be in his arms all over again.

"I missed you so much." He whispered against your ear, stroking at your hair.

"I missed you too, I missed you too." Your arms held onto him tighter.

". . . You must hate me. Don't you?" A small simper marred his features, and he pulled away to look at you again, a hand rubbing at your cheek. "[Y/n]. . ."

"For a while, yeah." You said quietly. "But not anymore, I'm not mad at you anymore. I just, want to know why. Why did you abandon me?"

"I-" He was about to protest, but, he knew you were right. In a way, he really did abandon you. "I'm sorry. I signed a contact to stay here and beyblade for this team. I knew I couldn't tell you. I was ashamed." His gaze slowly fell to the ground.

"Ouugh! You make me so mad sometimes!" You swat his arm, earning an innocent expression from him. "You should know me better, I can handle anything. If you were happy and safe, I would support you one hundred percent. You should have just told me!"

"You're right." Ren Wu slightly chuckled to himself. "As always." He leaned over to press two kisses against your cheek.

"Good. You're forgiven." You flushed, smiling to yourself.

"How is your sister? Is she well?"

The question hurt you a little.

"She's gone, Ren Wu." Your voice was soft. Suddenly he regretted asking you, but it was bound to be let out anyway. No point in getting all depressed again, you cried out all your tears, now it was time to be strong and happy.

"You know I love you, right?" He ruffled your hair, earning a small giggle from you - adorable.

"I know, I know. I love you too." You flattened down your hair before nuzzling against the crook of his neck. Using just one finger, he lifted your chin up to kiss you over and over again.

So you were finally together again, and one day you know you'd be back home. Hand in hand, laughing together in the little noodle shop around the corner.
