Chapter 16 | Party Crashers

Sarah's POV

"What are we even supposed to do with this kid?" Malia says as she crosses her arms, staring between the five of us. Lydia, Scott, Kira, Stiles, Malia, and I had decided to meet behind the buses during lunch to discuss the problem with a certain freshman.

Stiles raises his hand playfully. "I still say we just kill him."

"We aren't killing him," I say as I grab Stiles' raised hand, lowering it so that my fingers could clasp into his own.

Stiles groans as Malia stares at our connected hands. "My vote goes towards killing him."

I narrow my eyes as I stare at Malia, knowing that she was doing this on purpose. Scott looks between the two of us before he speaks up. "Like Sarah said, we aren't killing him."

Malia groans. "Well I assure you that I won't be sharing my basement with him."

"It's actually my basement," Lydia says, stepping forwards slightly. "And you left it a mess last time you were down there, actually. My mom started to ask questions."

Malia turns to Lydia, a snobby look on her face. "Well it's not my fault I can't control myself."

"We'll just use the boat house," Scott says, trying to keep the conversation under control. "We'll use the support beams to keep him chained."

Kira looks around at everyone as she stands close to Scott. "How are we exactly going to get him there?"

"We'll invite him to a party," Lydia smiles as she stares at the kitsune. "I'm sure the kid will want to go to a party. We'll just need someone to trick him into going."

Everyone continues to stare at Lydia, clearly stating the obvious. "Too bad I'm over teenage boys," Lydia says, before she turns and looks at me. "Why don't we have the trickster do it?"

"Me?" I say with raised eyebrows, glancing over at Stiles to make sure I had heard her right.

Lydia smirks as Malia crosses her arms again. "Yes, you. You'd be perfect."

"But I'm not even fully kitsune," I defend before I look over at Kira. "Plus, he's already seen me and knows I'm with Scott and Stiles. He wouldn't be tricked by me."

"Then I guess that leaves Kira," Lydia says as the kitsunes face turns pale.

"Me?" Kira says, looking at me as if she were about to commit suicide.

Lydia smirks. "Yes, you. Did you know, that female foxes are called vixens?"

"That's helpful information," Kira says as she looks over at Scott, who was smiling over at her. I could tell that he knew she could do this, and I knew she could too as well. Kira could do anything when she set her mind to it.

"Killing him would be a lot simpler..." Malia mutters under her breath as we all glare at her, tired of hearing that excuse. We weren't killing him, even if he was a stupid kid who couldn't see that we were trying to help him. Besides, it wasn't like killing him would be easy either.

We all look away from Malia and back to Kira as I grin. "Go get em tiger."

--------

I couldn't help but stare up at the full moon in the sky as Stiles drove to the lake house, both of us silent as can be. The radio was humming softly, but it wasn't loud enough for either of us to sing along. I clasped my hands around my seat belt as I tugged on it softly, since it was pressing up against my neck.

"Hey Sarah..." Stiles says slowly, glancing over at me. "I need to talk to you about something."

I look over at Stiles, already knowing what it was probably about. "This is about Malia, isn't it?"

Stiles seems alarmed for a moment before he calms down. "Y-Yeah, it is."

"Thank God I'm not the only one noticing it," I say, letting out a relieved breath. "Has she said anything to you?"

Stiles shakes his head. "No...I mean, she didn't really say anything, but she did do something."

I sit up farther in my seat, curious to know what this was about. "What?"

"Remember that day your mother took you from my house?" Stiles says, causing me to flash back to that moment. That moment when my mother had told me that my brother wasn't my brother. "Well, when I was about to go look for you, Malia just showed up at my house. We talked for a few minutes but then...she just...she looked like she was leaning in to kiss me."

I raise both eyebrows as my jaw falls open. "What? And you're just now telling me this?"

"It could have been an accident," Stiles says in her defense. "Whatever it was, it doesn't matter. I only like you, Sarah. I promise."

For a moment, a blood curdling rage burned inside of me, but soon that all disappeared with Stiles' last sentence. After he says this, he reaches across and takes my hand, rubbing his finger softly as well. I take a deep breath as I calm myself down, knowing that he wasn't lying. I could just tell by the way he had said it.

"What has she done to you?"

I lick my lips slowly as Stiles takes a right turn. "It's the little things. Like how she stares at you every time you're not looking and how snappy she is when I speak one word. I'm not worried about her taking you from me, but I'm worried that this will all get to her head, if that makes any sense."

"I see why you're worried," Stiles says. "But trust me, she won't ever replace you. No one can replace you."

I might sound like some sappy girl teenager, but when I say that I loved this boy...I meant it. I couldn't describe it, but the way he made me feel...it was amazing. We might be going through all of this crazy shit right now, but somehow, I managed to always come back to him. Everything came back to him.

I was tempted to say it out loud, but I was scared that he wasn't ready. How do you just tell someone you love them? Saying that changes everything. It's not the same type of love you tell one of your friends as they go away for a trip, but this was the real deal. I've never said that phrase to anyone before and meant it in that way...so this would be huge for me. I wasn't sure if I was even ready.

"Well they got here fast," Stiles says as we pull up in front of the lake house, missing my chance. My stomach knots when I see Malia standing there next to Lydia, the two of them staring at us as we pulled up beside their car.

Stiles squeezes my hand before he pulls away, getting out of the jeep. I take a deep breath before I get out as well, hoping that this night would go as planned. But with us being us, I had a feeling that something one way or another was going to go terribly wrong. It always does it seems like.

"Where's Scott?" Stiles says, speaking too soon. The moment he says this, Scott comes riding up on his dirt bike, parking besides the jeep. He slips off his green helmet as he walks over to the four of us, a look of determination on his face.

"Everyone ready?" he says as Stiles steps forwards, pulling out his phone. He needed to tell Scott what he had found out earlier tonight, which happened to be that Liam has anger management issues. I assumed that being a werewolf would amplify these feelings, which wasn't good on our part, but Scott needed to know.

Scott and him talk about the car he had wrecked at his old school before we all decide to head inside, knowing that Kira would be here soon with Liam. The moon creates an eerie glow around us as we all walk inside of the lake house, this being one of my first times being here. Well, the first time being inside.

There was a huge living room area, which shiny wooden floor and sleek white walls. There was a flatscreen sitting on a little table while two couches sat in front of it, along with another much larger table for placing food and drinks onto. There were also many plants scattered along the walls and windows, but they were fake obviously. I don't know why anyone would ever think of Lydia Martin or her mother as plant managers.

"Nice place," I say, my eyes still skimming the place. I could see a kitchen in the other room, which looked to be just as nice as what I've seen so far. I could only imagine the rest of the house.

Lydia nods her head as she looks around. "Yeah, but we're selling it soon. We're running a little bit low on money at the moment."

This peaks my interest. It made me remember about Stiles' money issues, along with Scott's, but I never would have guessed that Lydia Martin would be having money issues. She was one of the richest people I've met, and it amazed me that even her was running low on the bills. I wonder if Zach and Vanesa have anything to tell me about...

"I think they're here," Malia says as she looks out the window, seeing headlights pull up. We all glance out of the window as we watch Kira and Liam both get out of the car, Kira herself looking nervous as crap. I mean, she's always been a little clumsy, but right now she looked like she had just drank 6 cups of coffee.

All of us step back as I stand close to Stiles, praying that this would work alright. We were planning on telling Liam the truth, the whole truth. After that, we had hoped that he would let us take him to the boat dock, since he would have to be chained up. I had a feeling though that something was about to go wrong.

I hold my breath as we all watch Liam step inside of the house, not really looking up to see who was here. It takes him a moment before his eyes trail upwards, scanning the line of us supernaturals. He takes a step back as if he's about to run, but Kira shuts the door just in time before he can bolt.

"What is this?" Liam snaps, glaring at all of us.

Scott folds his hands. "Think of it as sort of an intervention."

"An intervention?" Liam questions. "Why can't you freaks just leave me alone?"

"Freaks?" Malia snaps, losing her temper. "If we're freaks, then you sure as hell are too-"

"Malia," Scott says quickly, causing Malia to shut up.

Liam shakes his head. "What do you want with me?"

"We only want to help," Scott says, sounding like some type of mentor.

"Help with what?" Liam begs, Kira still holding the door shut in case he decided to run.

"You see Liam, when you get the bite..." Scott fades. "It changes you. You-you're like me now."

Liam shakes his head as he furrows his eyebrows. "What do you mean I'm like you? I'm nothing like you."

"You're a werewolf," Scott says, breaking the news fast. We all stare at Liam to see his reaction as he looks at us as if we're mental. He soon breaks into laughter.

"You're serious?" he spits, anger rising in him. I could hear his heartbeat. "This is a nice prank, guys. It really is."

"Does this look fake to you?" I say as my eyes flash orange, along with Scott's flashing red. Liam takes a step backwards as his expression changes into fear, which was the highlight of my whole night.

"How did you do that?" he says, his eyes wide.

Scott nods his head as his eyes turn back to their chocolate brown. "You'll learn, but first, you need to get through the full moon."

Liam shakes his head as he backs away from us. "No, you're all crazy. I don't know how you did that eye thing, but I'm getting out of here, and none of you can stop me-"

Liam screams before he falls to the ground, grabbing at his head. My eyebrows furrow as Scott starts to kneel beside him, but that was before we all look out and see headlights pull into the driveway. Like I had said, something usually goes wrong.

"Who is that?" Stiles says, losing his patience. "Who all did you tell about this?"

"You said it was a party," Liam defends as he presses his palms against his head.

I shake my head as I stare at all of the people. "Shit..."

Liam lets out a painful scream as he throws his arms out, digging at the flooring. That was when I saw that he had claws, meaning that he was already staring his transformation. Malia collapses as well as she leans on the table, trying to contain herself.

"Not the floor-" Lydia starts to say as she walks towards Liam. However, Liam looks up at Lydia with golden eyes and roars at her, causing Scott to snap into motion. The next thing I know, Scott and Kira are taking Scott outside to the back door as Stiles and I stand in confusion, not sure what to do.

"Stiles..." Malia says before she looks up, her eyes shining bright blue. As much as I didn't want to be stuck with Malia for the night, I knew that we needed to contain her or else she could seriously hurt someone. Stiles and I walk over to her as we start to help her to the basement.

"Guys," Lydia says, staring at the three of us. "What do I do with the teenagers outside?"

"You're Lydia Martin!" Stiles yells at her. "Throw a party!"

Lydia's jaw drops. "What..?"

She doesn't have time to defend herself as we leave the room, going to the basement as fast as we could. All I could think about as we helped Malia was how crappy of a situation we were in, but what else did I expect? It wasn't like we usually get handed things on a silver platter.

I guess the universe just hates us.

ugh I hate writing about the first part of season four. It's so boring to me and I just want to skip to the end of it, mostly since I'm excited to write about season five for this book. :P
