Chapter Seventeen
A/n
guys, I'm very sorry, I was going to put about how they went shopping in like Louis Vuitton and Gucci, but they're all supporting a genocide that I personally am against, and I realised that even fictionally, I couldn't support them, I might forget while writing throughout the book, because I sometimes don't think before writing, but any brands that I'm aware support genocide, I will not be including in my books. I know it's controversial, but I happen to not care. So if you're wondering why this rich mafia family is barely shopping at branded stores, that's why. Other than that, enjoy the chapter, but leave if you're going to argue against my beliefs, because it's what I support, and you can support whatever you want, it doesn't affect me. I also had a whole list of products that she bought but it was soooooo boring, like I don't care 😭
So I cut it off.
Sorry if you wanted to see it, but I didn't. 💀
Iris POV
Forty five minutes later, Carmine, Leandro and I get out of Leandro's car, and I see a building that puts the size of the house to shame. It looks to be at least four times the size of the house, and I can't help but my intimidated by it.
"Ready, Ris?" Leandro asks, walking to my side of the car.
"I think so." I reply, knowing that I'd much rather still be in the library with Carmine right now.
"That's all we need, c'mon Carmine, let's go." Leo says, before leading the way to the entrance.
Luka and his friends travelled in seperate cars, so I don't know where they are, but Leo says we beat them and that they'll meet us in some store in a little while. I shrug it off, not really caring, as long as Luka is okay.
Carmine walks silently next to me while Leo is slightly ahead of us, muttering something about guards, I don't really care enough to worry about it because I know that I don't mind dying, I got to spend time with my brothers and that's all I really wanted out of life, so now that I've done it, I can die happily.
"Where do you wanna go first, Leggero?" (Light) Leo asks, making me shrug.
"Um, I don't know? I've never went shopping before." I respond, cringing at how stupid I sound. I hate that I don't know anything at all.
"Okay, that's fine. Carmine, you wanna go anywhere specific?" He questions, looking at Carmine who signs that he doesn't care where we go.
"Okay, you want to go buy some clothes first then, Ris?"
"No, not really. I think I have enough clothes." I shrug, it's true, I now have six pairs of clothes, and to be honest, it's a lot more than I used to have so I'm pretty happy with my life. My response, however makes Leandro snort.
"Iris, you don't even have enough clothes to fill even one section of your closet, we're going to shop for clothes." Leo says, his voice amused which makes me frown. I thought I had enough, but whatever.
An hour later, Luka finally decides to join us as we're looking through clothing in a store called Forever21, I don't understand why it's named what it is, but I've given up on caring.
A lot of these stores have weird names, and I can't make sense of them, so I figure that I might as well just give up.
Now, it's been an hour, and I can't find a single piece of clothing that I actually like, and niether can Leandro. These things are either too revealing, meaning they'd show my scars or too big because I still have to put on some weight in order to be regarded as healthy.
"Leo, I don't want to look for more clothes." I groan, tired of this nonsense.
"Okay," he shrugs, "I'm done too. We'll just buy things online because these selections are horrible."
"Thank you."
"No problem, let's go buy you some makeup and skincare though. As pretty as I think you are without it, you're going to want makeup when we have events to go to." Leo says, guiding me out of Forever21 and to another store called Sephora.
Carmine silently follows us, I won't lie, I kind of forgot he was even with us. I think I need to work on that, there's no way I'm going to let him be so isolated and left out, but I'll speak to him about it in private first before I make a decision on how exactly I should include him more.
The store looks pretty freaking intimidating, but Leo doesn't seem to notice as he pushes me into it and calls a saleswoman.
"Hello, I want to buy her some makeup and skincare please. Nothing too much, and nothing that'll give her skin a reaction because she's never used it all before." Leo greets, shocking me that he can be polite.
I guess my jaw must be on the floor, because he nudges my shoulder with a smile.
"I can be polite, you know?" He teases as the lady tells us to follow her.
"Well, you fooled me." I joke, except I'm not really joking, but he doesn't need to know that.
Leo just shrugs in response and it really leads me to believe that I should coach these people how to lie. It's so fun. I've never really had the opportunity to lie before so I'm definitely going to be taking advantage of it now.
Thirty minutes later, the lady has successfully managed to find my perfect foundation, lipstick, blush and concealer matches as well as give me a basic skincare routine from a brand called WISHFUL. I have no idea what it means, and it's wishful thinking to assume I would. Hehe, see what I did there? No? Nevermind.
Leo pays and we decide it's finally time to go eat something from the food court when his stomach grumbles and right as I'm about to laugh at his pain, mine grumbles too. Kind of embarrassing but okay.
"So, where ya wanna eat?" Leo asks, pft, like I'd know what the hell a decent restaurant or fast food chain is. Please, I haven't ever eaten any of these things before.
"Leo, I don't know." I frown, making him frown right back at me.
"Oh yeah, why don't I take you to my favourite place? I'll tell the other fools to meet us there." Leo says, referring to Luka and his gang of friends.
"Carmine, you wanna go anywhere specific to eat?" I ask, watching him shrug in response. Alright, guess he doesn't care.
So we follow Leo to a restaurant that I'll never be able to pronounce, and a few minutes later, we're joined by Luka and his group of friends.
Once everyone has placed their order, Leo and I fall into a comfortable conversation while Luka's friends look at him as though he's an alien. I knew he wasn't nice to most people.
I'm about to roll my eyes when suddenly Carmine, my selectively mute brother screams, "Iris, watch out!" right as a fist meets my head...

Not really a fan of this either, but I'm not in the mood to write. And before anyone says "then why did you write?" cause this was supposed to be updated on the 19th 💀
My bad, but I'm sitting at a funeral house right now, and there's absolutely nothing for me to do, so I decided to write. (my uncle died)
Edit: guys if y'all pray I don't go to school tomorrow, and I actually don't go to school, I'll update again this week 😭
Maybe even a double update. PLEASE.
Bleh, enjoy your week, school starts tomorrow for me. Makes me wanna cry, honestly. Why does school have to be such a killjoy?
