Rose's POV (Age 15)

(That is Rose)

I was running. I don't even remember what I was running from anymore. I ran from the cold hearted place of New York. I stopped at a city limits sign that said 'now entering Tulsa Oklahoma'. I smiled because I'm finally back in my hometown. I saw a DX station about a mile away so I ran to it. My legs were so sore but I pushed them further. I stopped in front of the DX gasoline station with no money and no car. So why did I need to go into a gasoline station? Oh. I need to use their bathroom. That was it. I put my messy, dirty black hair into a bun before entering. When I entered, I saw a girl running the counter. "Excuse me ma'am-- do you have a bathroom I can use?" I asked

"No" she said. Her tone and facial expression showed clearly that she had lied. Two boys came in the station from the back of the store, and from what I saw, it looked like a garage. One had something black on his face, and the other one looked spotless. 

They were both cute. 

"C'mon. Let the girl go to the bathroom, Raven" the golden brown haired boy said.

"Why should I?" She asked.

"She looks like is about to pee herself" the other boy blonde boy said. 

The first boy drew back his hand and playfully hit the other boy in the arm. "Newt, don't you have any respect? We're in front of a lady." 

Newt's friend pointed the bathroom out to me while whispering something under his breath. I nod a thank you before going into the bathroom.

Newt's POV

I walked into DX from the back garage. I had just been working on a car, so I had grease smeared on my forehead from where I wiped my hand on it. I was surprised when I saw a beautiful girl with black hair and icy blue eyes talking to Raven. "No." "C'mon. Let the girl go to the bathroom, Raven." 

Raven had always been a bit sarcastic and mean to those she didn't know. I mean, she was sarcastic in general but more so to strangers.

(This is Newt)

Sky's POV

I walked into DX to check on my best friends and also to bring Bella's boyfriend his lunch since she was at school. "Soda I have your lunch... again." I said, setting it on the counter. A girl with black hair and stunning blue eyes walked out of the bathroom. She looked familiar for some reason. "Oops, I can't believe I did that again" Soda said, snapping me away from my thoughts. I gave him the brown bag. "Who is she?" I asked in a whisper.

"I dunno Sky. She looks like she is starving and tired." Soda said

"Um. Do you have a name?" I asked aloud to the girl.

Rose POV

"Um. Do you have a name?" A different girl asked. She looked familiar. I nodded to answer her question. "What is it" she asked

"Rose." I said quietly.

"Well, Rose, are you hungry or tired?" She asked. I nodded again and directly after, my stomach let out a tiny growl. "Want me to take you back to my house or the Curtis' house?" She asked.

"The Curtis' house." I responded. That was were I heading before I stopped to use the bathroom. The girl nodded, hopping off the counter. She headed to the door confidently. I followed her closely, but still far enough away that I didn't make her uncomfortable. I wasn't good with people. She stopped and waited for me to catch up to her. "What your name?" I asked the girl quietly.

"My name is Sky." The girl said before I fell deep into my thoughts. I was snapped out of it when we reached the Curtis' house. I remember growing up here at age 2-5 before I moved to New York, where I earned the names 'The Runner' or "Burning Roses". I smiled. Sky looked at me curiously. I wondered if my brother or sister were here.

"May we go in?" I asked. Sky nodded, walking inside the house before me. I staggered behind her. Nothing had changed, but there was a certain emptiness that I couldn't pinpoint. The smell of food hit me when I walked through the little screen door after Sky.

"Bella do you have some food ready?" Sky called into the kitchen.

"Ya I do. One minute." Bella called back as Sky sat on the couch. A minute later the girl came in, and when she saw me, she dropped the plate and ran up to me. She attacked me in a bear hug, which I returned. Bella happened to be my older sister that I vaguely remember. "Baby Rosie?" she asked using her old nickname nickname for me

Bella's POV

"Baby Rosie?" I asked, using my old nickname for her hoping that she would remember me. 

"Bells?" She asked, smiling at the use of my nickname. I nodded as I started to cry. I finally got my sister back. After 5 years.

"Is Dallas Texas here?" She asked, using her nickname for him.

"No, he's in the cooler again." I answered. Rose looked upset.

"Again." She said ,and her stomach growled. I ushered her into Darry's armchair and she sat down. She directed a comforting smile at me. 

"I'm gonna get you some food now ok?" I asked her. She nodded, looking at Sky. Sly looked confused, and I didnt quite know why. I went into the kitchen and got her some chocolate cake, bacon, and chocolate milk to wash it down with. I went to bring it to her but, she was passed out in Darry's armchair. I smiled because she was home, at last. I sat her food on the TV table next to the armchair so that when she woke up she could eat. I slipped my hand under her side and moved her so that I could also sit down. A few moments later, she wiggled her way onto my lap.

-A couple hours later -

(Still in Bella's POV)

Rose had finally woke up and ate. Everyone in our gang started coming back except for Dallas. 

Our gang consists of Newton (Newt), Thomas (or Tommy), Minho, Chuck, Raven, Sodapop (Soda), Darryl (Darry), Ponyboy (Pony), Keith (Two-Bit), Dallas (Dally), Steve (formally called buttface time to time), Sky, and Johnny. Rose was enjoying the newest episode of Mickey Mouse, curled up on my lap. The gang walked in with a huge burst of energy and a trail of loud voices. "Hello." Thomas said.

"Hey Tommy" I said, smiling. Rose laughed at Mickey Mouse and I felt it before I heard it. Everyone's eyes fell upon Rose.

"Who is she?" Minho asked.

"My little sister" I answered, moving the hair out of her face.

"Dal and you have a little sister?" Steve asked.

"Duh.. she just said that." Rose said like a true Winston.

"Who do you think you're talking to?" Steve asked her.

"Definitely not you, crooked teeth." She snapped back. She was making Steve mad. I smiled. She was definitely a Winston. My boyfriend, Soda, walked over to me and pecked me the lips. Then, he kissed Rose on her forehead.

"Welcome to the gang, Rosie" he whispered to her and she cracked a smile.

"Thank you" she said, looking at him. Soda rubbed her head roughly and messed up her hair, which sent her into a wave of anger. She was very picky about how her hair looked. Rose huffed loudly while crossing her arms. Soda's face began to turn red due to the fact that he was holding back laughter. I told the gang a fact about Rose everyday for the past 5 years.

 -in Bella's mind- 

I know what you are asking yourself. "Why did you leave your sister in New York?" Well, the answer is "I didn't leave her. Our father wasn't the nicest person, and he kept her locked away. She became 'The Runner' right before Dallas and I left so we thought she was would be fine'. 

-back to reality-

Rose got up off my lap. "Uh oh" I said. Rose stopped dead in her tracks when the door opened and Dallas Winston, our brother, walked in. Rose ran up to him and jumped into his arms. "Princess?" Dally asked, picking her and setting her on his hip.

"Yes, Dallas Texas?" She asked.

"You're home, Princess?" he asked, still in shock.

"Yes! I am." She said hiding her face in his neck.

"How?" Dallas asked her.

Dallas's POV

"How?" I asked. I felt her bite her lip against my neck.

"Um. I ran here." Her small voice said shakily.

"Princess, you know how I feel about you running." I said, truly worried about her because of her long lasting injury that our father gave her. A simple hit in the head could trigger her mental age to change.

"I know Dallas. Now that I am with you and Bella I don't have to run anymore." She said looking at me with her sad eyes.

"Ok, good. Let's get you home." I said with a smile. Sky, my girlfriend, looked at me weirdly. "I have a major soft spot for Rose." I said. I carried Rose home and Sky followed me closely. I explained everything to Sky on the way home, from the injury to the last time we saw each other. She was happy for me. She was happy that I found my sister again.
