IF MERIT ALONE WERE ENOUGH TO RISE ABOVE THE DIRT, Cho Eun-hye wouldn't be the failure everyone believes she is.

As long as she can remember, she has been climbing a ladder with no end. Above her is a promised sky she can never seem to reach. No matter how much blood and tears shed on every step she takes. She is trapped on the bottom of the barrel as the so-called greatness within her decays. Her insides match the scars of her flesh she endured from the life long battle for change.

But she doesn't plan to die on the same dirt she was born into. Eun-hye desires to break free from the mold the world tries so hard to capture her in. So when salvation comes into the form of a death fighting arena, there is no shred of hesitation in her. She joins her estranged, older brother hand in hand on the slaughter.

Her soul is rotten anyway and she is destroyed beyond repair, at least this time her undoing will be worth it. Inside the arena she is reduced on her most natural state:

An animal fighting for scraps at the expense of entertainment of those who hold the leash.

They say never bite the hand that feeds you, but even the most loyal hounds turn against their masters when they smell blood. And hunger is difficult to satiate when the only way you can eat is by gnawing your own leg.

Perhaps it is time to turn to the flesh of your captor and put the teeth they sharpened themselves into good use.
