The Royal Rumble
This is already an outstanding pay-per-view! So many things have already happened and the main event match hasn't even happened yet. That's the excitement that this and any pay-per-view can bring!
Ever since my talk with Lillie, I've felt ten-times better, to be honest. Not only that, though, but the talk that we had with Stephanie just a few minutes ago, too. She said that there will be big things headed both mine and Lillie's way.
After our talk with Steph, Lill said that she was thirsty and was going to grab a water, asking if I wanted one, too. I said that I did and, so, she ran to go get them from catering.
Facing the front, I watched as Renee interviewed Sasha. I began to walk that way, standing behind the cameraman to get a closer look and to hear every word that she was saying. "I don't need to beat Scarlett Knight tonight. I want to, just to prove - once again - that I am the best female wrestler on this division," Sasha was saying as I walked up.
"What about Lillie Luna?" Renee asked her quickly before placing the mic in front of her.
"Lillie?" Sasha mocked, laughing. "Well, as far as Lillie is concerned, she doesn't have a chance at my title. She's weak, unlike me. I'm perfection and she's in the background."
"Would you be willing to put your title on the line tonight, if you had to?" Renee kept the questions rolling, feeding into Sasha's obsession.
Sasha cracked a smile and simply replied: "Of course. I wouldn't be a real champion if I didn't."
Then, the interview was over as Renee thanked Sasha for her time and her, along with her cameraman, hurried along. I was clapping by the time the camera had stopped rolling, sarcastically cheering for previous performance.
She rolled her eyes and cracked a smile. "Liked it?"
I nodded and took a step closer. "Very much," I truthfully answered, resting my arm on one of the music equipment boxes backstage. "Overall, you're a great performer and talker."
She rolled her eyes and laid her title out on the box as well. "What are you getting at, Ellie?"
"Nothing," I shrugged innocently. "We should really just bury the hatchet between us, and with Lillie, and call it truces already. This game that we've been playing isn't very fun anymore, is it?"
I couldn't tell if she was believing me or not. Every word that I was saying was the truth, though. I wanted this to finally end once and for all. I wanted to forgive and forget, and never to return to it as well. I couldn't see if there was forgiveness in her eyes or not, though.
"Really?" Sasha whispered out in disbelief. Maybe she would forgive me already, too. I simply nodded and prepared to hold my breath. She, too, seemed to hold her breath as well. She looked to be thinking about it.
"So...," I squeaked out, trying my best to smile through this. "What you say? Let the past stay in the past as we move on to bigger and better things...?"
She looked up at me and our eyes met. Hers were so much softer than they had been. Before, they were just so hold and cold. Now, they were soft and pure. I was hoping that these were forgiving eyes, after all.
Alas, she broke out her grin and her eyes smiled with her lips, too. She nodded and said, "Of course. Let's all just forget about it and let tonight be the last real battle that we fight through."
Wait, what? Wow! My work here was done, apparently. I'm not sure how Lillie will feel about this, but let's hope for the best, I guess.
What Sasha did next was unbelievable as I left speechless. She leaned forward and wrapped her arms around me. After a moment of realizing that it wasn't a joke, I accepted her embrace as I hugged her back, too. It was warm and genuine. Nothing was fake about this.
"Um...?" I heard somebody squeak out and got out of that hug with Sasha to see who it was. It was Lillie, who stood there completely speechless with two bottles of water in each of her hand. "Am I interrupting something?"
Sasha giggled, but I was serious as a heart attack. Lillie was really injured because of her, after all. "Well, Lill," I began to tell her, taking a moment to clear my throat, "we have decided to bury the hatchet and call it truces. She wants this with you, too."
Lillie gulped, then took a while to think about it. She couldn't really look at us in the eyes. It wasn't until Sasha said: "Well, we should really try to get along since we're going to be around each other for a while."
Lillie sighed, then just nodded. "Sure, why not? Let's forget what happened and move on..." However, I knew that this was just Lill's way of trying to remain peaceful, instead of fighting about it more. She hadn't fully forgiven her yet, but she was going to eventually. For now, she was just trying to keep the calm at bay.
Sasha snatched up her title and smiled at us both. "See you guys out there," she said, winking, before she eventually disappeared. I had called out my farewell to her for both myself and Lill, who was silent about the whole situation, really.
I turned back towards Lillie and smiled, innocently shrugging. "So... We have about an hour until we got out there. What you wanna do?"
Lillie opened her mouth to reply, but was shortly cut off by Renee Young, who was there with a mic and cameraman, ready to go. "Stephanie wants that backstage segment between you two right now. Is that okay?"
Again, Renee? I wanted to ask her, but kept it to myself. Simply, I nodded and motioned for her to talk to us together. "Awesome," she squeaked out before adjusting herself behind the cameraman.
He gave us the signal that he was filming, so we began. "So, you ready for tonight?" I asked Lillie, who was playing as her on-screen character than her real-self.
She slightly smiled and shrugged. "Sure am. You?"
I tried to play this comment as being okay, but it just wasn't. "Sure, but... What's going on with you? Why have you been advising me lately?"
Lillie rolled her eyes, as part as her character, and huffed. She folded her arms across her chest and leaned backwards a bit. "Well, where do I start, Scar?" she asked, stepping up her game a bit. "You stole my title match, that's for one. You think you've been helping me, but you really haven't."
I was appalled, so I placed a hand over my chest and opened my mouth. "What the hell, Lill? I've been taking care of Sasha for you," I tried telling her to defend myself. "If it wasn't for me, Lill, you wouldn't be here now. I stopped Sasha from doing further damage to you!"
Dramatically, she took a step forward and got in my face. "Oh, really? Because, if I remember correctly, you were the one that promoted Sasha to do this to me. You're the reason that I'm currently injured for."
—
An hour and ten minutes later, both Sasha and myself were being called to the curtain. Along with Lillie, who was going to go with me out there.
When Sasha's began to play, she turned around to face us and waved at us. "Good luck!"
She went there first and took maybe a good minute to complete her own entrance. Then, my music began to blare throughout the arena and the WWE Universe roar with cheers.
I began to make my way out there with Lillie right behind me. They were going nuts for me, but when they seen Lillie, they completely lost it. She smiled and waved to everyone as I made my way down the ramp to the ring in front of her.
I got on the side of the ring and staged myself with the help of the ropes. I smiled and jumped inside, all ready to go. We would really need the energy and heat from the crowd to survive this ordeal.
With Lillie safety outside, JoJo stood in the middle of the ring in a nice and short, yellow dress. "Standing to my left, the challenger... Residing from Atlanta, Georgia... She is the 'Dark Angel' of professional wrestling... Scarlett Knight!"
The crowd became unglued, but held their breaths for Sasha's special introduction. "And, to my right, the WWE Raw Women's Champion... 'The Boss' Sasha Banks!"
JoJo began to exit the ring as the the ref took Sasha's title and gave it to her to keep safe. With Lillie safely outside, the ref signaled for the bell and the match was now getting started.
Immediately, Sasha held her hands up before I could come at her. She was playing it off like she wasn't ready to fight. The ref demanded that I stay back to be on the safe side.
Before he could turn back around, she had slid out of the ring and ran outside to the side that Lillie was standing on. She was trying to talk to her, but Lillie didn't want to hear it. So, I slid out, too, and got between them.
Sasha ached closer to me, so I pushed her off of me and tackled her on the ground. We rolled around for a while, like a tumbleweed in the desert. Finally, we separated as she jumped up and ran over to where the two commentators tables are side-by-side.
I chased after her, but not before she surprised me with a kendo-stick to the stomach. I hunched over in agony as she began to rail it on my back over and over again. That's when I heard Lillie screaming to get up, but I couldn't. The pain was too great to handle and to just get up from, too.
After she was done unloading the kendo-stick onto my back, that will surly leave deep scars later, I tried to recover quickly. Yet, I could see from the corner of my eye that Sasha was working on getting the top of one of the commentator tables off.
When she was done with that and walked back over to my limped body, I quickly found the strength within myself to finally fight back. I hit her in the stomach three times before I jumped up and elbowed her in the mouth. She fell backwards on her ass as I immediately was back on her, kicking her in the ribs.
Using both her hair and the back of her tights, I lifted her up and tossed her back into the ring to be on the safe side. I slid in right after she did and was immediately attacked, being kicked right in the soft spot in my back.
I tried to fight her off, but it didn't work out. Her hits felt like knives to my back, to be honest. Yet, when she picked me up just to bounce my body off the ropes and back into her, I reversed with a classic DDT.
I jumped right onto her for the first pin-attempt of the night, which she nearly immediately kicked out of. I groaned and rechecked with the ref if it was only two, and he was very sure of it.
I stood up while Sasha crawled up my legs to get up with. I started to slap her around, screaming at her: "Stay down! Just stay. Down."
On commentary, anyone with ears could hear Corey Graves say: "Did you hear those bitter words come out Scarlett Knight's mouth? She just wants Sasha to stay down!"
On the outside, Lillie was hitting the mat and trying her best to get the crowd behind me, to hype me up. Yet, on the inside of the ring, Sasha was now beating my ass again. She held me in one of the corners and used her foot to hold me back, holding it to my neck. "I'll never stay down, bitch! Never!"
On commentary, Michael Cole commented: "And there Sasha goes with the back-talking. She won't stay down. She will not."
I knew not to take what she said personally as she's just in real character. So, we start to go back and forth at this point as far as hits are concerned. When she tried to put me in the Bank Statement, though, I only escaped by my fingernails when I gripped the bottom rope.
Trying to regain myself on the outside with Lillie, she tried holding me up to the best of her ability, even with her knee still a little bit busted-up. I didn't realize it until it actually happened, but Sasha was aiming to kick me in the side of the head. Instead, she kicked Lillie, who had seemingly taken the fall for me.
While Sasha took a moment to reflect on what she had just done to Lillie, which was supposed to be unexpected since she was aiming towards me instead. I floated onto the other side of the ring, where the commentator tables were located at again. I didn't waste any time to go back inside and set Sasha up for something huge.
She got back in and I immediately sent her into the corner, closest to where the commentary tables were at. I wasted no time at all when we crawled around up there and I took the chance by suplexing her into one of the tables. It crushed beneath us and felt really good, though. The crowd became undone, roaring in cheers and excitement.
An whole eternity later... We were back into the ring, where I performed my finisher on her (Widow's Peak, adopted from Victoria). Feeling confident and good alas, I covered for her the pin.
As the WWE Universe counted along the ref, I felt my future win become more satisfying. One! Two! Th...
Suddenly, I'm being yanked off of Sasha and put into a move. Bending over frontwards, I was being held by Lillie!? Before I had known it, she had done the Queens Crossbow on me.
As I now laid there motionless, somebody was now on me again and the ref counted. One! Two! Three! Sasha had taken the win over me, via Lillie. And, alas, I felt the knives really in my back now.
Somehow, I opened my eyes and looked up. I seen Lillie back in the ring, attacking Sasha. After some hits and kicks, she finally set her up for the Queens Crossbow, too. She snatched Sasha's title away from the ref and held it up high, ending our match as a whole.
Through the darkness, I heard the WWE Universe chanting: "Why, Lillie, why?!"
Yeah... Why?
