Ellie
Are you still mad @ me?

Lillie
I was never mad AT you.
Just the situation.

Ellie
What situation?

Lillie
With u and Baron, of course.

Lillie
Obviously!

Ellie
OMG, Lillie...

Lillie
What?!

Ellie
What's ur problem with him?

Lillie
He's married. Point blank.

Lillie
Plus, u need to be w/ somebody
single...

Ellie
Like???

Lillie
Like... W/ Seth Rollins, duh!

I turned towards Enzo and posed, which seemed to frighten him a bit out of sudden confusion. "Why isn't she texting me back for?!"

He shrugged and muttered, "I don't know, Lill. Maybe she's busy, baby."

I rolled my eyes and scoffed, "She's not busy, Zo. She's ignoring me because I said..."

He glanced up at me through his eyelashes and grunted, "Said what?"

I bit down on my bottom lip and reconsidered telling him. Everyone knew how close him and Ellie was. He would just defend her, anyways, but he had to know, though.

"Okay, look," I directly said towards him and pointed, "Baron's married. Married, Enzo! Not divorced, but married! Okay? Well, look, I simply told her that she should with somebody single."

Enzo stood up and waved his hand. "Whoa, Lill. Calm down. I—"

"Like Seth, for example," I rudely cut him off to state my point. "Don't you think that they should be together, too?"

He adjusted his focus right on me, looking a bit frustrated. "Lillie, I hate to say this, but... You can't control her life. No matter how much you want to protect her, you can't and she won't let you, either."

I couldn't believe his sudden rush of words and how he did, indeed, defend her like it ain't nobody's business. Who was he right now, though?!

"Zo!" I exclaimed, spreading my arms like wings. That's when he decided to take a seat back on the end of the hotel bed. "What the hell? I don't have to protect her! She's a grown-ass woman!"

"And, plus, he's not married," he suddenly said and I raised my eyebrows in question. "Well, he is, but he's just separated at the moment, that's all."

"Separated?" The word slipped out of my mouth before I could process the new information in my head. "What? So, he's... So, he's separated from his wife and using Ellie to fill in the gap?"

Enzo opened his mouth to reply, but didn't say anything. He was now confused, I guess. "Well, um... Uh... Not exactly?"

"Not exactly?" I bellowed, completely mixed in with confusion and anger.

He nodded and replied, "Well, yeah, because anyone could see how happy they are together. He talks about her on such a high level in his life, y'know?"

I was sort of taken back by this newest information and how Enzo certainly just loves to surprise me. "How would you know any of this, Zo?"

He shrugged, but he knew good and damn well that he knew the answer to my question. I stomped my foot like a spoiled child and his back straightened up. He finally said, "Because he talks about her in the locker room sometimes."

Dear God, I thought to myself and sighed loudly. Feeling frustrated, I rolled my eyes and stomped my foot again. "Whatever. Because, you know what? Fuck it! That's what I think!"

"Whoa, babe. Calm down," he tried telling me, holding his hands up in defense. "Look, it's going to be okay, y'know? I mean... Like you said, she's a grown-ass woman and she can handle herself, babe."

I reconsidered what he had just said, yet it wasn't about to stick. I had to go and find her, so we can properly talk this out. I knew exactly where she was, which wasn't very far from Baron whatsoever.

I suddenly stormed out of our hotel room and shot directly towards the elevator. Enzo was hot on my trail as he slid into the elevator just as the doors were closing. He nearly got caught up in the middle.

"What are you about to do?" he started questioning me, strictly. "Why did you run out like that? Lillie, talk to me here!"

I rolled my eyes and huffed loudly. "Zo, would you just calm down?!" He straightened himself up and faced me, sighing. "Look, I just wanna talk to her."

   "Lill—"

"I just wanna talk to her," I rudely cut him off and repeated myself again. "That's all, okay? Calm down."

"No, you're not," he countered, shaking his head in disappointment. "You're going to find her, yell at her, and probably hit Baron while you're at it. You're very aggressive, y'know."

Then, the elevator doors opened and we stepped out. I was walking faster than Enzo, so he had to catch up with me to the best of his ability.

We were in the lobby area of the hotel and I knew she was getting dinner right there in the hotel. Before I could even get inside, her and Baron came walking out together, laughing, with her arm looped into his.

"Ellie!" I exclaimed loudly and everyone, including her and Baron, turned to look directly at me.

I walked right up to her as her eyebrows pulled together in confusion. "Lillie? What's going on? What's wrong?"

"You know exactly what's wrong," I growled, gritting my teeth together. If this was a cartoon, you could see the smoke coming out of my ears. "Why are you with a married man for?!"

   "Lill, what are you—"

"When you need to be with Seth," I continued, interrupting her completely. "He likes you, obviously! And you're too dumb to realize it!"

She pulled her eyebrows all while having her eyes popped open. "Dumb? Did you really just call me dumb because I don't want to be with him?"

I crossed my arms over my chest and nodded, pursed lips together. She knew it.

"I'm not dumb for not wanting to be with him!" she shot back while Baron tried to fold her back, but she fought him off to get in my face.

"Just look at yourself, El," I hissed back, pointing from her to Baron. "You're falling in love with him! But he's married!"

"Separated, thank you very much," she countered, cocking her head to the side.

Oh, no, she didn't... "So what? You think he'll leave her for you? Oh, please..."

"That doesn't matter," she testified, waving her hair to the back and out of her way. "What actually matters, though, is the fact that I just don't understand why you would want me with a guy that treats me like shit! And, for that matter, Baron doesn't!"

She was right about Seth, but I wasn't going down without a fight, though. "So what? You two are in love! Love is violent sometimes!"

"What?! That doesn't even make any sense," she screeched, nearly pulling out her own hair. She was aggravated and Baron was just trying to calm her down, too.

I pointed directly in her face and claimed, "Look, I'm just trying to protect you!"

   "From who?!"

"From him," I hissed and pointed directly at Baron now. "All I know is that Baron is married and that your feelings aren't going to mean anything because of that and he won't be leaving his wife for you!"

Obviously, Ellie is madly pissed off because of that. She looked like she had enough as she stomped her foot and yelled: "I'm only purposely staying away from Seth is because of you! To protect you from Sasha and her wrath!"

Now, I was confused. What did she mean? What did her staying away from Seth and Sasha from me mean? "What? That doesn't make sense! Plus, I can defend and take care of myself! If you couldn't tell before, I don't need you to fight my battles for me!"

"But that's the thing — they're not even your battles," she countered, rolling her eyes. "Sasha and Seth had something going on before I came along, then he dumped her for me, apparently. Now, she's out to get you because you're my best friend!"

I couldn't believe this. Believe her, for that matter. The reason for my knee and leg being the way it is now... The surgery... The brace... It was all because of her and her alone. That bitch.

"You don't think I'm capable of protecting myself?" I suddenly asked her. Then, she opened her mouth to reply, but I wasn't going to let her say anything, though. Not now. "Did you just let all of this happen to me because you wanted that championship all to yourself? Was that it?"

Ellie goes to say something, probably going to defend herself, so I said instead: "You're really going to throw away a decade long friendship for a championship?" Again, I don't let her answer, saying sarcastically: "Wow! I can't believe you would actually do that! I never thought you would and I never thought that our friendship would end like this, either..."

She stood there in utter disbelief, having Baron catch her when she nearly fell back. She flashed her eyelashes a couple of times and sighed loudly.

I spun around on my heel and, before I could get away, she grabbed my wrist and tried pulling me back. "Lillie, I—"

I spun back around and slapped her right across the face, which stung both her cheek and my hand. I couldn't believe that I just purposely and, also, accidentally slapped my supposed best friend. The slap seemed to echo throughout the huge lobby area.

"Don't," I simply quietly told her, which was the quietest that I had said to her so far. "You're not my best friend anymore. You're nothing to me."

Giving her a small shove backwards, which resulted in her falling back into Baron's arms, I spun back around and focused on getting back to my room.

I had a new future to plan without her...
