Epilogue
Granted, I don't know much about Rhys but the way things are going, I'm sure I'll know all about him soon. It's not like we don't have any time. It's more like the opposite, really. I know the thing with the other angels and their Master isn't finished. I mean, it's far from over. They'll return, with more in numbers and strength.
But for the moment, I'm content to just relax and enjoy my time with my stunningly beautiful fallen angel boyfriend. Time will bring a lot of things our way, and whatever it will be, we will face it together and with compassion and intelligence. The Tower has become a second home to me and half of my day is usually spent there. Rhys and I are together mostly twenty-four hours a day. Our relationship is stronger than ever and couldn't be better. I couldn't ask for a better family, a better life or a better boyfriend.
I am pretty much falling head over heels for a fallen angel and I couldn't be more happier!
"Oh my god, look over there!!" Avril points in the direction of the school quarter-back. Cheerleaders are flocking him and he seems content with all the attention being showered on him. "Ethan Jones?" I frown in his general direction. Ethan has blonde gel-soaked hair, clear blue eyes and tight muscles that are constantly abused by his love for soccer.
"Yeah! He is so hot!"
"Ethan? He's your new crush?" I ask in disbelief, "Could you have chosen anyone more disastrous?" Avril sighs dramatically, lying back on the bonnet of my car.
"Disastrous? More like delicious." Avril winks as Ethan looks in our direction. I smother a laugh as he gets up and begins to walk in our direction. He swaggers over to us, hands in pockets. His eyes are fixated on Avril. My best friend nudges me, squealing. I draw back, rubbing my sore elbow, frowning at the love-sick Avril.
"Hi." Ethan says, "I saw your pretty little eyes watching me back there." Avril gasps, glancing at me. I put two fingers in my mouth and gag. Which, obviosuly, makes Avril glare at me. Ethan just chuckles at me, "And you are?"
"The best friend." I reply, not bothering to toss a smile in his direction. Ethan looks back at Avril and she nods in confirmation.
"Name and number?" Ethan produces a pen with one hand and holds the palm of his hand out. Avril is just about to reply but I cut in.
"Sure!" I grin, taking the pen and scribbling a scrawl on his palm, "There you go. Oh, but don't call on school nights. My dad doesn't like it."
"Ok." Ethan says, confused. He looks at Avril, but she's busy glaring at me. A group of cheerleaders walk over and drag him away. He turns to wave at Avril, "Maybe next time, redhead!"
Avril jumps off the car bonnet, squealing and screeching, "Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!"
"Avril, shut up!" I laugh, "You have the worst taste in boys!"
"Yeah, you're just saying that because Ethan Jones has your number and you're dating Rhys Hart!" Avril flounces off. Just before she gets into her car, she blows me a kiss. I laugh after her. That girl is crazy.
"Thinking about me?"
I turn to see Rhys. He leans in and fuses his lips with mine.
Can my life get any better?
Oh my god, I can't believe it's over! I've had so much fun writing this story and hopefully I should start writing the sequel soon. 'Burning Desire?' Anyone like that name or should I dream another title up? I really love these characters and I'm so sad to leave them, even for a while.
Finally, thank you to all readers and supporters of Burning Paradise. I really appreciate it and love each and every one of you!! Hugs and Kisses, Lightness xxx
