As I walk into class the teacher is just taking attendance. "Yes, right." The teacher says looking up at me as I hand him my pass. "Miss Anna Presly. Class this is our new student Anna Presly." He announces to the class as I stand next to him.

"We got a phoenix girl!" A boy shouts from the back of the class.

"The name's Anna Presly, not phoenix girl." I say playfully. The whole class laughs except for the boy who I showed up who just glares at me. This is when I realize there is only one other girl in the class and she is literally a troll.

Maybe my luck in friends would be better in mortals at this school. I stare at the boy who is glaring at me with a smirk. He looks normal, not immortal. I'm seated and class starts. When the teacher looks away a ball of paper lands at my feet.

I love the way you stood up to Lance like that. My name is Terris Odiele, I'd like it if we could hang some time. I read silently. I look back and see a boy smiling at me. He is pretty cute I have to admit. I look at his smile and see fangs. A vampire!

Alright, once. I respond throwing the paper back quickly. His smile brightens when he reads my response and I smile shyly at the desk. He... he likes me. In this form. This is all I could ask for! Even if it wasn't true love, someone liked me in this form! When class is over I flutter to my next class.

True Form and Power class. As I fly in I realize Terris is in this class too. I gracefully flutter and land in the empty desk next to him. A smile pokes at the corners of his mouth as he works on his mirror.

"A mirror?" I ask. Why would they need mirrors, they can't see themselves.

"Not an ordinary mirror. It's a true self mirror. It shows your true form and personality, mine is almost done."

"Oh that's so cool!" I say excitedly. "Can I make one?" I ask.

"Maybe, just don't break it." He teased.

"Whatever." I say rolling my eyes and smiling. He hands me the mirror and motions for me to come closer. When I look into it, my human form appears smiling. A golden heart appears in the middle of her chest and my wings are on her. I frown and let a tear slip out of my eye.

I push away the mirror and go back to my desk.

"You're human?" Terris asks politely. I put my head in my hands and nod. "Oh my gosh. But you're on fire, how can you tolerate it?"

Between gulps of air I manage to spit out a few words. "I'm cursed." Now the tears are really coming, never have I been so upset. I can hear him gasp and he rests his hand on my shoulder.

"And you're crying because you're cursed and I'm not. You're afraid you'll never be human again, that you'll be stuck like this forever. You were overjoyed to find out I liked you for you and now you're afraid of loosing me." He states. I look up.

"How did you know all that?" I ask puzzled.
