The exorcism (Continued #2)
Sensing her presence, Father Jessup turns around -- sees Marian climbing up and squirming side-to-side on the water, like a cobra poised to strike. Her tongue flicks in and out her mouth...
MARIAN: (hisses as she speaks) Hello, Paul.
Father Jessup does not converse with the demon. He traces the sign of the cross toward Marian.
MARIAN: C'mon, big brother, let's talk about this, okay? We could always talk about everything. I even make my confessions right here in the basement, remember? (plays with the water) Oh, well, I just redecorated it a bit...gave it a water motif. It's quite cool and eclectic, don't you think? Besides, would you rather I use a fire motif and burn down the house? Frankly, bro, I hate fire. It hurts. It kills.
Father Jessup plucks the cap from the vial of holy water.
MARIAN: What's with the holy piss? You're going to hurt your own little sister now? I'll tell Mom and Dad on you.
He begins sprinkling. Marian jerks her head back and lets out a grating, furious shriek of pain that echoes all over the basement. Her body twists, arms flailing and jittering as she sinks and disappears in the water...
Father Jessup prays the Lord's Prayer. We see a violent upheaval of the water's surface as if a miniature underwater volcano just erupted. Dark ridges that shoot up to the ceiling punctuate the turbulence...
Marian's surges up -- she floats on her back. And we see
FATHER JESSUP: Marian!
Her beautiful face. It now has the color of life.
