Uraraka came out of the shower as she brushed her fingers through her wet bristles. She tied the towel around her bare body and looked at the mirror, her cheeks now had a color of a soft cherry. She licked her lips a couple times as she walked out of the bathroom. When she got to her room, she saw Bakugou sitting at the edge of her bed. His back was hunched as he was talking on the phone. Whoever he was talking to was quite loud. She could hear the person laugh hard. It sounded like a woman's voice. Uraraka bit the inside of her cheek. She sighed. Bakugou turned to Uraraka. He gazed absently at her shoulders and his focus traveled towards her neck. He absolutely liked the way her wet hair sticked to her cheeks and her neck. Uraraka blushed at his stare as she folded her hands. "Uh I need to change," Uraraka said while looking away from Bakugou. Bakugou stood up slowly as he glanced at Uraraka. He wondered what it would be like to kiss her neck, and missed his fingers smothering her hips. He missed how Uraraka curled her fingers with kind intentions into his hair. Bakugou shook his head all of sudden and walked out of Uraraka's room. He needed to wash those thoughts out of his head anyway.
Uraraka looked in her closet for something nice to were, after around 6 minutes she concluded her outfit. After brushing her wavy hair. Her hair tended to becoming nicely curly when in contact with water. She put on a white buttoned long sleeve shirt, with dark blue jeans. She was debating on either to wear flats or black heels. Though black heels would be a nice touch, but she didn't want to look overdressed I guess. Uraraka shrugs to herself, as she puts on her leather brown jacket. It felt kinda tight on her arms, but she stated it didn't really matter. Uraraka went to her dresser drawer. She took her makeup bag out and shuffled her hand around in it. She thought lipstick would be suited for this occasion it just something that's not a bold color. She was looking for more of a dark red kinda a color. Although pink was usually her color, she felt more confident wearing red whether it was clothes, lipstick or shoes. Uraraka picked one of her lipsticks and faced the mirror. She cringed at the amount of dust on the surface of the mirror, could be seen in the light. She really needed to clean it. Uraraka parted her lips as she watched the blood red color painted on her bottom lip. She pressed her lips together tenderly, rubbing them together. She gazed at the mirror as she smiled, her cheeks seem to grow in size. She couldn't lie to herself her cheek were chubby. As she looked at the mirror for the next few seconds she knew the smile she had was real. It was nice when you felt good about yourself. Uraraka turned away, and wrapped a checkered red scarf around her neck. By the time she was done she finally decided to wear the black heels. It's not like her date would point out her shoe ware. Hopefully. God she was so paranoid about dumb stuff.
Uraraka walked out of the room and headed to the living room. She found Bakugou sitting on the sofa as he ruffled though his blonde locks. He turned his head towards her. "Why are you dressed up for pink cheeks?" Bakugou asked as he stood up and stretched his arms. "I'm gonna go on a date," Uraraka's tongue felt dry saying it out loud to him. Bakugou seemed to have flinched but Uraraka didn't notice it. She imagined Bakugou might give her a evil glare, or maybe yell at her for being an idiot or just insult her because that's just how he responded when he was angry. Bakugou just had a deep frown on his face his eyes were soft, he looked away from her gaze. Something bursted out of Uraraka that moment, something she didn't expect her to say herself. She was the sweet girl, the understanding person, one that didn't yell and was polite even if you did push or shove her a couple times. She said something that was right. "It's not a biggie right, Don't make a big deal out of it. It's just one date right?" Uraraka said with a cinching smile. She said something that was not right. Something that was definitely not right. Then why didn't it make her feel good to say it. Bakugou eyebrows furrowed, "What the hell is your problem?" Bakugou said his back straightened and his arms at his sides went stiff. Uraraka was about to say something, but then she heard the doorbell ring. Uraraka assumed it was her date so she needed to be relaxed and not let her recent frustration in her face show. "Coming!" Uraraka comes in a rush before stopping. Bakugou follows behind her. He wanted to know who exactly this guy was. Uraraka's eyebrows raised with astonishment. It was the man whom she met before. "Kaminari?!"" She gasps. "Oh Hey!" He waves slowly although he felt silly for waving since he was couple of inches away from her. "So you're the guy huh?" Bakugou spits out. "Uraraka, right?" Kaminari asks. "Yeah," Uraraka said while batting her eyelashes. "Why do you all seems so fucking surprised to see each other," Bakugou says before clicking his tongue in annoyance.
Uraraka sighed in her head, not out loud. She glared at Bakugou. "Why are you still here," Uraraka asks. She raised her head towards him, she was pretty short compared to Bakugou. "I wanted to see what loser was gonna show up,"Bakugou said with a fake smirk. "Ugh" Uraraka groaned. "I'm sorry he's such an asshole," Uraraka said. What the fuck was her problem Bakugou didn't understand. Did he say something?
"We'll soon as we leave, your leaving as well," Uraraka said. "I just need to get my coat Kaminari, I'll be right there."
Uraraka looked at Kaminari, his blonde hair was swept back down his neck, and his bangs curled nicely at the ends. He was dressed right for this occasion. He wore a white long sleeved shirt along with a slick black blazer, and fit black khakis. He smiled brightly at her as he gave her a bundle of pink roses. Uraraka sniffed them, because she felt it was necessary. "Beautiful," Uraraka said, and nodded whispering a thank you. She liked how it was a first date, more like a blind date and he brought flowers. "So where are we going? Well or where do you wanna go I don't know if you've already planned this?" Uraraka asked uneasily. "Actually I didn't have a plan at first, but when Monoma told me about you and your name and then I saw you at Mina's party. And well I thought you deserved a nice night. Although I'm not the type of guy to get it right the first time." Kaminari said with a brilliant smile. Uraraka chuckled, she enjoyed how honest he was. "I mean any girl I have a blind date with deserve a nice night but, um I thought you were kinda cute when I saw you at the party so uh yeah." Uraraka flinched and was wordless. "Thank you," Uraraka said her words kinda overlapping with one another. "There's this nice place called Jerillo's it's a restaurant that serves japanese cuisine." Kaminari said as they reached his car. It was black ford pickup truck. He opened the car door for her, "I mean if you'd like to eat somewhere else that you have in mind I'm okay with that."
"Actually I think what you picked sounds perfect," Uraraka said confidently with a small smile. Her smiles made butterflies scatter in Kaminari stomach. Her smile just felt like a summer breeze sifting past, it was warm and smothered all over his skin. Kaminari went into the car and started the car. They drove past a couple local gas stations and then a bookstore. Uraraka needed to makes sure to return that book tomorrow. "So what's with you and Katsuki," Kaminari asked trying to make conversation. "What do you mean? Why is he so obnoxious? I think he was just born that way." Uraraka said. Kaminari laughed. "Well lately I heard from Mina that he had his eyes on you. I was worried that you'd tell Monoma to call off the date," Kaminari said. Uraraka just sat and looked at Kaminari, he glanced at her once before focusing back onto the road as he took a turn on the wheel.
"You look beautiful by the way. Sorry I'm not very good at this stuff." Uraraka folded her hands as she worded another thank you out loud. Usually when she had first dates she would feel uneasy, but now around Denki her shoulders felt relaxed.
An hr later
The dinner was delicious, Kaminari asked plenty of questions. Questions about her childhood, what she liked, her hobbies. She told him she writes fanfics, but he didn't exactly know what that was. After the 5th time trying to explain what is was and how it worked he finally understood, but asked her if I quote 'DO people realize those are characters, and not real people.' Uraraka didn't really get offended she thought it was funny, because who knows what those obsessed fanatics thought. Her Dad would ask her the same thing, when that one time he asked her what she was writing. Kaminari talked here and there how he worked as a waiter in a cafe. He said he planned on doing it temporarily. He said he lived with his roommate who's name was Hero, Nero, Sero she couldn't remember now. But he complained about him. Such as not washing the dishes and just letting them soak. He told her this one story where Sero and Kirishima (surprisingly Uraraka remembered that guy, the guy that wore the tuxedo at Mina's party, the one with the bright red hair) taped Kaminari to his bed post and they had video taped it when Kaminari woke up freaked out. During the whole prank Kaminari said they had put masks on. Kaminari, although ashamed, had honestly thought he was gonna shit his pants. Uraraka returned a simple story when Midoriya, Iida and her went to this one halloween party in high school. The 3 of them weren't invited so they just thought they could slip in wearing costumes. Well the entire scheme was all Midoriya's idea, Iida didn't want to be involved but was dragged along. Eventually as usual Midoriya got drunk, and the 3 of them had to climb this pretty tall fence. (The cops so happened to arrive) Uraraka guessed maybe them youngsters were making a lot of racket. When Uraraka and Iida got to the other side. Midoriya was sitting on the top just stargazing or in la la la land. Midoriya eventually did get down, but during that time her and Iida thought he'd probably fall off the fence and break an ankle or something. Although drunk Midoriya luckily made it down safely. But the funny thing was that Midoriya tripped over a log in the woods and broke his ankle anyways. It wasn't funny at the time. But when She told Kaminari they laughed over it. Her and Kaminari traded stupid stories, and talked about their life recently. Overall Uraraka thought it was nice night so far.
After dinner Kaminari drove her somewhere. They arrived at a public lake called Lagoi He was able to park his car near the ports with all the ships and the small boats. Kaminari grabbed Uraraka's hand and dragged her along behind them. He brought her to one of the docks. Where at the end of it a man was standing there with boat. The boat was still tied down to the dock's poles. The man had a tall frame and tanned skin with a bushy gray mustache along his lips, he carried a kind smile to Kaminari. "How much do I pay you for the boat, and you know everything?" Kaminari asked. "No need," The man said waving his hands and shaking his head, he had a rough Indian accent. Kaminari bowed towards the man, and so did Uraraka. "Thank you Raji,"
Kaminari tried to pull the boat towards the dock more so it could be more easily to get in. "This is just one more surprise for you." Kaminari said as he got into the boat. "Take my hand, " Kaminari said as Uraraka bite her lips she worried about falling into the water. "I want let you fall," Kaminari stated "Okay" Uraraka said as she stepped in. Raji chuckled how uneasy the young lady was. Kaminari gave a soft laugh as well. When Kaminari sat down he reached for a long candle and lighter that was set under his seat. "I'll be here when you guys get back," Raji stated as he walked away. What was exactly Kaminari planning Uraraka though curiously. Denki held the candle out to her for her to take. She took it as he lit the match with a lighter. Packs of pink camellias flowers cluttered the boats floorboards. The vanilla scent began breathing through the cold city air. Uraraka hummed at the lovely smell. Kaminari and her face were painted in a daffodil yellow from the warm light. She watched his eyes turn a sweet honey yellow. Uraraka's gazed at him in a way the light from the candle suited his hair and his narrow eyes so well. Kaminari pulled at his phone. "What are you doing?" Uraraka asked. "You'll see," Kaminari said. As he set down a cassette radio beside him. Another object that was under his seat. Uraraka shivered as she felt another breeze bite her cheeks. "Here Kaminari said shrugging off his coat as he wrapped his coat over Uraraka shoulders.
Kaminari pressed on a song that was in his playlist. He set down his phone. Connecting it to the cassette radio, "Just hold that candle for a couple of seconds, I promise you will love it." Uraraka some reason believed him as she watched him start rowing the boat. Uraraka looked from the sides of the boat, she saw nothing but water around them, all that was left in the sky was pitch black as if the stars were broken, and the moon hid. Huh she thought. Uraraka looked back at Kaminari as the music began. (Play music now)
"The night we met, is a song by Lords Huron, it kinda has an old style to it," Kaminari said
The lyrics started with a collection of ooo's while rowing Kaminari didn't take his eyes off of her. She stayed silent as she gazed back at him. She felt a sudden breeze brush her bangs, and kiss her cheeks. She tugged on his winter coat that hugged her shoulders. The lyrics were being worded by Kamanari's lips, while he kept on laying her eyes attentively at his lips and his tender eyes. The boat stopped at he let go of the paddles. He reached out his hands towards her, "I can hold it now," Kaminari said with radiant smile. He stood up trying to take it away, she gave it to him. Kamanari's eyes moved from the candle and back at Uraraka's hazel eyes. "I found out this trick when I was younger, you see the only light we have now is this one candle. This light guides us."
"Yes" Ochako said while pulling her knees together. "Because it's the one thing that guides us in the dark. When you blow it out-
"Wait what are planning to do?" Uraraka interrupts as Kamanari's stands up and she tugged on his sleeve.
"Just trust me Ochako," Kaminari said as he held out his hands for her to take. Uraraka bit the inside of her cheek as she blinked her eyes lashes frantically. "If you blow it out we won't see anything, we won't be able to go back, we-
"That's not true," Kaminari said as he surprisingly felt Uraraka cold hand touch his. Their hands were freezing they both wished they had a pair of gloves. "Well what I was saying, if you blow it out," Kaminari said while pulling the candle in front of them. Their eyes met. It was a small spark. "When you blow the light out..well you see a millions of diamonds, diamonds that no person can buy. These diamonds light up but humans were blinded by fire they just couldn't see it. These diamonds are absolutely tremendous, breathtakingly beautiful." Kaminari whispered, as Uraraka moved her hands to his fingers. She held on. Kaminari blew out the candle. "Look up," Kaminari whispered in her ear, her ears were so cold and his breathe was warm. Uraraka trusted him as she raised her head to the unknown. Her gaze went to Kamanari's face. She could see his face clearly. There was a sudden light, this light was silver pastel blue. The color painted Kaminari's tan skin and for some reason she could see his whole figure. "At the sky," Kaminari said. Uraraka looked up the sky as she gasped in awe. Thousands of stars filled the night sky. Kaminari rubbed Uraraka's shoulders and met her to elbows as he held her. He breathed uneasily as his breathe floated in mid air. Their were thousand to millions of stars, it was all a mess of how much the stars were cluttered along each other holding the colors of outrageous blues. It was so lovely how much of a mess their was. It reminded Uraraka when she was little girl. With her yellow rain boots as she stepped in the puddles, and how her knees were patched up with bandaids. It reminded her of her mother, that is long gone. Her mother had soft look to her with blushed cheeks, and she cherished how her mother long hair tickling her forehead. It reminded her of the days when she painted in art class. She always sat alone in that dented seat. Painting after school, to finish her art projects. All her paintings blended with red and orange colors, sometimes her canvas be covered in violet and smooth blues. It reminded her of Katsuki, his ash blonde hair and when he rubbed his eyes, and how she watched him breathe. It made her think of the kiss. For once she realized maybe she did like the rain. Uraraka moved and gazed at the water before them the lakes water reflected the sky, it almost appeared as if there own boat was was laying in the middle of a sky made completely out of glass. The thought of them laying in a sky made of glass was mesmerizing. Uraraka wanted to smile, but then Katsuki kept coming to her mind. He treated her wrong, and this sweet guy behind her was so nice, and covered this boat with brilliant flowers for her. Uraraka picked up one particular flower, some of the petals were ripped up. He made her laugh, paid for dinner. Put his own coat around because she was cold. He was unselfish, he worded things with good intentions. He took her to this middle of a lake that made her feel like she lived on a fantasy. He made her feel like she was beautiful. While Bakugou cussed and yelled. He was an asshole. But he..
She was crazy.
Right?
Why..
Uraraka turned around towards Kaminari. "Thank you," Uraraka said. She had tears burn in her eyes. She was crying but was happy, and sorta confused. She guessed she wanted to cry because this moment sent her back to good memories. Back then she didn't appreciate them. She didn't appreciate her mother's smiles, and her mother's kisses. She didn't appreciate her childhood. How she laughed even if she was all by herself just being a stupid kid. When you were a kid you felt alive and weren't scared, but dumbly brave. She didn't appreciate having calming days. She was also crying how much Katsuki frustrated her, and how she's overly sensitive, and he didn't deserve to make her a mess. Kaminari hugged Uraraka quickly as he rubbed his fingers into her hair. Her cheek met his chest. "Sorry I..-
"No, you didn't do anything," Uraraka said reassuringly, right now she isn't ashamed of crying in front of him. "All of this," Uraraka said sniffing several times as she waved her hand. "It was so nice, and you'd really made me happy. I don't know I guess it's been a long time since I've been so happy. I always believed my life is fine, and regular. I don't have a bad past, have good parents, have a good friend, didn't involve myself in drugs or alcohol or all those teenager dumb stuff. I don't know. You make me feel good." Uraraka said as she rubbed her cheeks with her knuckles. Kaminari rubbed Uraraka's shoulders. "I'm just sensitive I think," Uraraka concluded to him, Kaminari nodded understanding. "Would you like to go?" Kaminari asked. Uraraka nodded with that ear to ear smile that made Kaminari go insane. While he rowed the boat Uraraka kept her eyes attentively at the sky. Her lips parted still her breathe seemed to be taken away. "Millions of diamonds that no person can buy," Uraraka whispered, she wanted to remember that line to write it on a wrinkled up notepad in purple ink pen. It just felt right.
It felt like a long night as she saw her apartment door. All the tiredness waved through her body, as she rested her shoulders as she looked at Kaminari. She knew her hair was probably mess, based on the number of times the wind brushed it ruffly. Kaminari squeezed Uraraka's hands and kissed it. Uraraka thoughts mixed brilliantly as she had this sudden desire to roughly kiss him. But then although she wanted to do so badly. She was tired. It wasn't the greatest idea no matter how much in the world she wanted to. She curled her cold fingers along Kamanari's cheek. His eyes met Uraraka's. Uraraka broke it off as she kissed him gently on the cheek. "Thank you," Uraraka whispered. "Maybe I'll see tomorrow," Uraraka slightly promised, "You know where to find me, just call Monoma, or Mina. Uraraka gave him a weary grin. "Goodnight Denki," Uraraka said, as she opened her door and waved at him as he started to heading down the stairs. She takes off her shoes and coat before sighing exhaustedly. She walks into the kitchen while wiping her eyes but then she stopped. Over by the door was Katsuki sitting in the chair asleep. "You never left?" She whispers to herself quietly. She smiles softly at the sight. Even though she had a great day with Denki, she felt conflicted. She didn't know how to feel or what to do. She tilts her head admiring Katsuki's sleeping state. She doesn't want to wake him up so she goes to her closet to grab an extra blanket. She walks slowly to Katsuki before wrapping the blanket around him nicely. "What am I going to do with you?"She laughs quietly to herself. She thought he would have left a long time ago. Instead he waited for her. The guilt started to come to her. The way she acted towards him earlier was quite rude, she can admit, but Katsuki was also being an asshole. She shakes her head at her sudden thoughts before heading to her room.
