KIE POV:

It was finally winter in the obx. I felt the cold breeze on my skin as I walked outside to join the rest of the pogues by the fire. I sat down next to Chloe on the bench. It was nice having another girl around. We were now even, 3 to 3. I shivered as I tried to warm up.

"You cold Kie?" JJ asked me jokingly, as he already knew the answer.

"No jj, I'm burning hot" I say sarcastically, giving him a "are your dumb" face.

"Ain't that the truth." He said, smirking at me.

I rolled my eyes while letting out a light chuckle. I knew he was joking. He would always mess around with me like that.

"Okay." Sarah said while placing her hand down on john b's leg to help her stand up. "I'm going to bed. it's cold."

"Yea, I'm about to do the same" I said while rubbing my cold hands together to warm them up.

Sarah walks inside, john b following her.

JJ POV

I watched as john b and Sarah went inside. They looked suspicious like they were going in early to...yk.

I then looked at my boy Pope who looked like he wanted to make a move on chleo. Haha.  he was so awkward it was funny.

I glance over at Kie and then pointed to chleo and Pope with my eyes. I looked back at her and raised my eyebrows letting her know that we needed to dip and leave them alone. She looked at me and nodded her head, agreeing with me.

"Kie. You need me to drive you home?" I asked casually.

"Uh yea I do actually, thanks." She says looking down at the ground beginning to quickly stand up. She got really nervous when lying. It was kinda cute. I mean like not cute but like... anyways we started walking to the road where everyone was parked.

"Y'all don't have to much fun with out us" I said jokingly to them as we got farther away.

I started walking towards my dirt bike and handed her a helmet.

"Hell no." She said, pushing the helmet into my chest. "We're taking the van. Are you crazy?" She says as she started walking to the Twinkie. I knew she would do that. She hated my bike. She even hated it when I road it. I only offered to see her get mad, it was funny.

KIE POV

He was crazy to think I would get on that death trap with him. He probably did it on purpose.

"Okay fine princess" he says, putting his hands up defensively and smiling with his head down.

I go to open up the passenger door but JJ quickly runs over and opens it for me.

"Boss" he says in a weird accent, probably quoting some old movie. He gestures his hand in the door and bows a little.

"Mm, what a gentleman" I say sarcastically, humoring his antics.

I get in and he shuts the door. He ran over to the drivers seat and got in. He starts cranking up the engine, recreating the noice it made with his mouth. I laughed at him because he was being an idiot like always. He had some serious ADHD.

He turned on the radio and we rolled down the windows. It was really fun ride home.

I always had the most fun when I was around JJ. He's definitely the life of the party, I thought as I looked at him sticking his head out the window like a dog. He was so free spirited even after everything he had been through. Out of no where, I suddenly got kinda sad. I couldn't stop thinking about all the things JJ had to go through on the daily with his dad. I looked at him for a while in admiration until he turned his head and looked at me.

JJ POV

I was havin a blast and looked over to check and see if Kie was having fun too. I glance back at the road quickly and then looked back at her noticing she was looking at me. She was lookin at me kinda weird.

She quickly looked away as soon as she saw me turn back around. I gave her a funny confused face for a minute and then looked back at the road awkwardly, ignoring it until I found the words to say to her.

"You good Kie?" I said while I turned down the radio.

"Yea I'm fine" she says quickly, giving me a fake confused face. It was weird but I ignored it.

"Ight"I said suspiciously as I ran the radio back up.

With the loud wind and radio, I couldn't hear her but I saw her lightly chuckle. This made me smile. I dunno why, it just did.

We finally got to her house and I quickly jumped out and sprinted to her door before she could open. I was stubborn and refused to let her open it herself.

KIE POV

I got kind of scared seeing how fast JJ got out of the van. I looked at him so confused through the windshield as he ran over to my door. He opens the door for me and I paused just starring at him because of how extra he was being.  His hair was all messy since we had the windows down.

"Okay weirdo" I said finally, confused and not letting  myself laugh as I got out the van.

I started walking on the pathway to the steps and JJ began to follow me. He didn't have to walk me all the way to the door. It's not like I'd get mugged if I got more than 10 feet away from him. but he did anyways and I just went with it.

JJ POV

I began jogging as I tried to catch up to Kie. Once I got to her I noticed that she was shivering. I looked back forward walking next to her. I put my hands in my jacket pockets and let out a small uncontrollable laugh through my breathe. It was so cold I could see my own my breath.

"What?" Kie says looking up at me. Her normal jokingly bitchy tone.

"Oh nothin" I said sarcastically as I looked down, shrugging my shoulders.

"Whaat" she said again, fake annoyed, hitting my arm.

"I told you you should have brought a bigger jacket" I teased, knowing she'd probably hit me again.

"Shut upp" she says hitting me again, finally allowing a smile on her face.

I laughed again and smiled like a douche bag knowing i was right.

Kie started laughing too.

KIE POV

We made our way up the steps as a cold breeze hit us. I shivered again. I felt JJs eyes glare at me. I look at him and gave him an annoyed face. The breeze flowed through JJs hair as he smirked at me. He got cocky because he knew he was right.

We got to my door and I turned to say goodbye to him when suddenly the porch light came on. We both looked our heads up at the light above us, it kinda startled both of us.

"oh no." I said quietly, knowing what was about to happen.

"What.. what's happening" JJ said matching my tone in a whisper. He started looking around suspiciously with his eyes wide.

The door opened shortly after and my dad stood there in front of us. He hated JJ the most out of my friends. Mainly because of his dad.

"Heyy Mr Carrera." JJ said while holding his hand out awkwardly waving it as he smiled.

"Mmhmm" My dad said while crossing his arms.

"Good byeee JJ" I said smirkingly as I lightly laughed.

"Yes. goodbye JJ" my dad with a straight face, starring him in the eye.

"Bye kie"  JJ said while letting out a goofy laugh as he walked backwards down the steps.  Nodding good bye at my dad.

JJ POV

I turned around and started slowly walking back to the van, only to piss her dad off. I got halfway there and looked back and saw her walk inside, her dad still starring at me, making sure I leave.

I get in the van and drive back to the chateau. I don't see Pope and chleo anymore. Maybe he got lucky. Good for him.

I drop of the Twinkie and get on my dirt bike. I knew I couldn't go back inside because john b and Sarah we're probably doing things I didn't want to hear. I hesitate, knowing where I have to go. It sucks but maybe he's a asleep.

I start up my bike and head home.
