Chapter 22: Us against the world

Helena Walton's POV

"Yes even if. I want all of you Adam Yilmaz" Yes I said it! And I never regretted it. The only thing I regretted was driving him away when he needed me the most.

"And I want all of you Helena Walton"

I smiled broadly at him wrapping my arms tightly around his neck, stepping on his shoes to gain more height while ignoring the fact I must have hurt him. And If I did he said nothing about it. I lifted myself up just a little and slowly leaned my face closer to his as he did the same. My lips had barely brushed his when I felt an explosion of feelings in my stomach. Butterflies must have been going wild in there.

I smiled against his lips and that's exactly when he took control and kissed me like his life depended on it. For a moment we forgot we had company, we forgot we were in public. We were in our own little word kissing each other as if there was no tomorrow.

We were forced to break the kiss when we heard someone clear their throat. We pulled away from each other and I already missed his touch. I already missed the feel of his warm tongue against mine. I already missed the feel of his plump lips caressing my own.

"You did this for me?"

I heard him ask softly and looked back at Karam who was smirking. It was crazy how his smirk reminded me of Adam. They didn't really look alike but they almost had the same reactions and same bad boy vibe.

"Of course I did. I wasn't ready to see you getting depressed all over again and flunk out your career" he winked at him and seemed to have acknowledged someone behind us. I followed his gaze and saw an old man smiling happily at us. His eyes held happiness, yet so much sadness at the same time.

"Who is that?" I whispered to Adam trying not to be rude.

Adam then let go of my arm and turned around to the old man and gave him a weak smile before walking up to him and suddenly wrapped his arms around him. I had never seen this man in my life before, but he seemed to care a lot for Adam as he hugged him back crying along with him. I supposed they were happy tears but wasn't sure. Glancing at Karam I saw him frowning as well. Who is that man?

Adam pulled away and looked at us. Karam was now standing right next to me obviously as curious as I was.

"Guys I want you to meet my grandpa"

"What?" Karam and I said in unison.

"It's a long story, but he's my dad's real father."

"I thought your father's family lived in Rize?" I asked frowning a bit.

"I'm Martin Wells, I met his grandma a long time ago. We had a child, Nejat, she never told me about him. I learned about it before Adam was even born." He cleared his throat and wiped his tears. "Meeting Adam today was a coincidence, but I'm glad I did"

Karam had a surprised look on his face "So that's why they never wanted you to visit them?" he asked Adam who just nodded.

Martin Wells, I've heard that name before.

"Excuse me sir, are you the Martin Wells, from Wells technology?"

"Yes my dear. At least I was. I left that life behind a long time ago. Money never brought me happiness, only sorrows. I left the empire to my children"

"I see" I smiled "So I must call you grandpa?" I said making my way to him and giving him a hug as well. He seemed like a nice man who had been through a lot. It was painful.

"Of course" he chuckled and smiled as well hugging me back.

"What a beautiful family reunion" Karam said walking to us and shaking Martin's hand. It's nice meeting you sir. I'm Adam's uncle, Leila's brother."

"Leila was a beautiful soul. I'm sorry for your loss I just learned about them, I'm so sorry"

Karam just nodded politely looking away before suddenly turning his attention to Adam "Speaking of family! Have you gotten the results yet?"

"The results! Yes... yes I have I received an email just as you got here and forgot all about it."

"What results?"

We all looked at Martin and no one really knew what to say so I started babbling "You see, I love your grandson, and he loves me. He was raised in our family, as my brother, so it was weird, making me hate him. Or I must admit that I tried my best to believe I hated him. It was easier for me to ignore my real feelings for him. Well we weren't really together when he met this girl and apparently got her pregnant. He didn't know at the time, but now she came and told him he has a daughter, so he went out and had a paternity test just to be sure.... So now..."

"Lena, breathe" I heard Adam say with a chuckle. I looked around and saw them all staring at me.

"I babbled again haven't I?"

Karam burst in laughter "Nice technique though, pretending to hate him" he winked at me and I slapped his arm annoyed with him.

"So now you're going to see if this little girl is really your daughter?" Martin asked Adam who nodded taking his phone out of his pocket.

"Can you read it?" he asked handing me the phone.

I bit my lower lip and with trembling fingers took the phone from him. I took in a deep breath and released it seconds later. You can do this Helena, you have Adam no matter what.

I gave him a reassuring smile and took his hand in mine while reading through the email. That was it! That was the time to see if Amanda was really a lying bitch or not. Actually she is a bitch but we'll see if she's a liar or not! Focus Helena!

"Adam... you are Emily's father" I said it with steadiness in my voice that I didn't even recognize myself. I would be lying if I said I was happy about it, I actually wanted the results to turn up negative. But I'll support him and be there with him. He stared at me blankly and unmoving.

"Adam?" I looked at Karam who just shrugged and closed the distance between us so he was facing Adam.

"Adam are you okay? Did you hear what Helena said to you?"

His eyes snapped back at me "Are you sure?" I could read it in his eyes, he wanted this to be a lie. He wanted to believe Amanda was lying to us.

"Adam it's okay, you are an amazing man and you can be an amazing father as well. I have faith in you. I know it's scary but you can do it, and I'll be there with you the whole way" I didn't know where this was coming from. Hell I was probably more scared than he was but he seemed to have spaced out again and I needed to give him reassurance.

I sighed caressing his cheek lightly "Look at me" I spoke softly and he did. The moment his eyes met mine I gave him a heartwarming smile "I'm not going anywhere. Emily is your daughter but that doesn't change the fact that we love each other deeply. I won't ever let go of your hand again. It's us against the world." with that said Adam just captured my lips kissing me with passion.

"I love you" he whispered against my lips after breaking the kiss. He was rested his forehead against mine "I'm crazy about you Helena Walton"

"I'm crazy about you too Adam" I smiled that he was feeling better.

"Who is hungry?"

We all turned to Martin who pointed to a fishing boat pulling over "Fresh fish? I'm cooking. And you're all staying over tonight"

"This actually sounds like a great plan, your resort is beautiful" I smiled at Martin taking Adam's hand and walking towards the restaurant.

"IT's not really a resort but thank you. And no we're not going that way, we'll hike up a little and get to my own lodge, I just have to place my fish order. I'll be right back" he went to speak with the fishermen looking all excited.

"Why did you agree to spend the night Helena?" I turned my attention to Karam and grinned.

"Why not? Haven't you seen how happy he is? He just met his grandson, let him be for God sake. Plus, do you have somewhere better to be?" I rolled my eyes at him and saw Adam laughing. "What's so funny?"

"You two!" he laughed again while Karam and I just glared at him "What? It's funny how you keep bickering like two little kids"

"I'm happy your good mood is back Adam" Karam chuckled "And no Lady Helena I have nowhere else to be but we could have gone to a fancy restaurant"

"Oh so you want fancy? But look around! It's peaceful and beautiful and it's family" I looked at Adam smiling, he smiled back sexily.

"Oh God! Get a room" Karam rolled his eyes and took out his phone. "Do you think he'll let us have a bone fire?"

"How about we call the gang?" I asked Adam excitedly "It would be fun and they'd get to meet your Grandpa! Plus they'll get us clothes for tomorrow"

"Who will get to meet me?"

I grinned at Martin "I was thinking about calling our friends, if that's okay with you of course"

"Oh sure I'd love that. Most of the bungalows on the lakeshore are taken but we have free lodges up the hill and at the wood's outskirt."

"Great! There are just five people we could all take a family bungalow if you have any" Martin nodded smiling and lead the way to a land cruiser.

"Do you guys want to hike up or take the cruiser?"

"It's already dark, let's take the cruiser" Karam said jumping up front. I actually wanted to hike but since I was wearing sandals so that wasn't a bright idea.

Adam and I climbed in the back and Martin took the driver's seat. He drove us up to his personal lodge and it was huge and beautiful. It even had a pool which the other cabins didn't have. It looked like a family lake house. Once inside I looked around liking how everything was designed. Martin took us out to a terrace overlooking the whole lake. I gasped at how beautiful it was. I took a step forward wanting a better look but stepped on something that made a weird quacking sound. Looking down I saw a yellow rubber duck and frowned.

"Oh I'm sorry about the mess. You see I left my house the minute this place was ready to be lived in. I wasn't on good terms with my wife either, she had a... a funny way of raising our children. So now when they miss me they come over here to see me."

"You have little kids?" Karam asked raising an eyebrow and Martin burst in laughter.

"Noah is my youngest. He's in his thirties, you actually remind me of him" Martin smiled warmly at Karam "He has two children, a six year old boy and a three year old girl". Martin and Karam started talking about their families and I noticed Adam standing in the other corner of the terrace.

I joined him and noticed it was overlooking the garden and the pool. "Why are you here by yourself?"

"Did you hear him? I have cousins... the girl is probably the same age as my daughter... my daughter. Still feels weird"

"You'll get used to calling her that" I smiled leaning my head on his shoulder "And you have a big family now. You should be happier than that Adam"

"I am. As long as you're with me, I'm happy"

"Alright young people, I'm heading to the kitchen! Who wants to help?"

"I do!" I grinned leaving Adam's side and following after Martin "Oh Adam, don't forget to call Jason and tell him to bring me fresh clothes as well"

"I've already texted him. They are all on their way here now"

I looked at him leaning on the baluster and just for few seconds I saw our future together flash in front of my eyes. Adam, me, and our children. I blushed at the thought and hurried inside happily. Our love was strong enough to survive everything we've been through for the past twenty years of our lives, and I was sure it would be able to survive whatever was coming our way. Our love is endless.
