1: Training

The sun peeked over the mountains, stretching golden rays of fresh sunlight across our repaired Tagonia. After the fires, we had to care for new saplings so that our forest would once more be full and lush. Now that time has passed, it was beginning to look like the Tagonia it was before.

Our castle was totally destroyed, however. It seemed that when Zahkrii engulfed it in flame, it spread to the wooden support beams, causing the stone walls to collaspe.

No one was hurt, thank Dragon Gods, but Zahkrii was banished from Tagonia for serving Dilarox, Queen Hyla's hatchling.

The pixies and most of the dragons that lived in Tagonia helped us make a stronger and larger castle. This time, the support beams were fully surrounded by stone so fire couldn't touch them.

After the battle with Dilarox, Kintes was stabbed with a dagger meant for me. He survived, and he finally told me he too was a Dark Dragon.

Apparently, he had a concealed Dark Dragon Mark just below his wing joint. He informed me he was elements Speed and Fire before we began the journey back to Tagonia.

Moridax was welcomed back with us, and a few dragons even offered to build him a cave in Grilop's forest. He, of course, happily accepted and that's where he's been since.

So Nota, Kintes, and myself have permanent chambers in the Tagonia Castle, of which my mother rules from.

For the last few years, everything has seemed quiet and peaceful again... but that's exactly what happened before.

"Watch your position!" Daniik instructed. "Always keep an eye on your attacker, never let your guard down."

"What'd you say?" Deltul blinked and looked back at his mentor. The other young dragon my brother was wrestling seized their opportunity and knocked him off his feet.

"Dragon Gods, Deltul..." Daniik rolled his eyes.

The attacker came forward and helped him come to his feet. "You're one Taliig of a fighter." He caught his breath. "Aren't you the son of-"

The dragon pulled their helmet off and a female smirked at my brother. "Son of whom?"

"Y-you're a girl?!" Deltul's jaw dropped as she cocked her head to the side and raised a brow. "Er... I mean... I just didn't know that..."

"That a girl could take you down?" She finished with a snort. She had deep ruby scales, and grey horns, spikes, and talons. A fire elemental.

"N-no!" Deltul blushed. "I just didn't know that Daniik had a daughter."

"Surane, what have I taught you!" Daniik charged over. "No speaking with boys until you are at least... mmm... 30 thousand."

"Dad!" She exclaimed and shoved him with a laugh. Deltul kept his wide eyes on her.

"They'd be cute together, huh Zepth?" Nota whispered at me. We were huddled behind a bush, watching Deltul's training. Mainly because he specifically said he didn't want us to watch. Deltul claimed his training would give away all his secrets, but we've discovered it was just because he stunk.

"I bet that's already on his mind." I snickered as Deltul didn't break his stare at Surane.

"Alright, the two of you - again!" Daniik huffed and went back to watching them train.

Apparently, Daniik had a hatchling when he returned from the Blatua Kingdom, as soon as he disappeared. That would make Surane just barely younger than my brother. They were very close.

"Ah, electric fire." Nota nudged me with her elbow. "Soo romantic. Beating each other up in combat."

"Yeah, it's almost like when Trufor stuffed your snout into the Sand Troll Mines while he went to save his land." I mocked a dreamy sigh. "Or when he gave your paw a big smooch when he let us stay at his castle." Nota instantly turned bright red and rammed into me with a laugh.

"D-Don't be ridiculous!" She bit her lip, grinning. "C'mon, we better get back before they wrap up training and your brother beats us there."

I smirked and we unfolded our wings...
