Yeah so one of my friends had a situation come up and so a thing we've been planning for a while was cancelled and I'm really upset about it. Apparently some of my other friends were involved too so I'm disappointed but there's not a lot I can do at this point. As of now I'm still trying to process the information 😞😕

This is a doodle of a horse with a broken leg. Why did I draw this?? To symbolize how I feel towards the horse racing industry. I am highly opposed to horse racing, and here's why: On average, 24 horses die per week on US racetracks. That's approximately 3 horses a day. This is something I refuse to support. Horses are raced beginning at two years old, when they're not skeletally mature (horses are skeletally mature at 5 years of age) and ideally should not be ridden until 3 or 4 years old. They're whipped, which studies have proven leads to both physical and mental trauma. Horses are drugged, masking their pain so they can run harder and longer than they usually would, which contributes to their breakdowns. Horse's deaths are gruesome enough that racetracks literally have to put up screens which they then euthanize the horse behind. Jockeys are also killed when they're thrown from their horses. When horses no can no longer make a profit, they are destroyed, often shipped overseas to be slaughtered. Horse racing is, simply put, animal abuse. How long will it take for people to realize that their lives are not worth the price of entertainment? They are killed simply because people enjoy watching them literally being beat to death as they run. Despite what others say, I will not support animal abuse. This includes horse racing, dog racing, bullfights, and other forms of cruelty towards animals. There is no excuse for this. Why is this still happening in the 21st century? The horse racing industry is based off profit, and nothing else. This is why I will never support it. It's absolutely disgusting and I am extremely upset that in this day and age, such things still continue. It's causing unneeded pain and suffering, so just stop already. The actions of cruelty that happen towards animals still appall me. If you support horse racing, know that I will respect your decision, even if I do not like it.

Anyways. I'm sorry I've been riding horses and I'm really passionate about them. Horses are sensitive, beautiful creatures and why anyone would exploit them is beyond my grasp. *sigh* What has this world come to?
