chapter 8

They stepped out from the elevator on the eighth floor and Gloria then spotted Biki, Willams' girlfriend.

"Biki." Gloria called out, waving a hand in the air to get Bikis' attention.

The tall red head on the phone looked towards their direction and a smile stretched out on her tired face. Her grey eyes were red and pluffy, as she had been crying all through the night.

Biki had graduated from highschool and not having any money to go to college she worked as a stripper before Williams met her and bought her a beauty salon.
She had been dating Williams for two years and would occasionally come to the gallery to visit her boyfriend while stealing little glances at Raymond whenever he was around.

Right from the moment Raymond saw Biki in his gallery he disliked her. He had noticed the lustful looks Biki threw at him, but he never made a move or said a word to Williams. Despite the love and money Williams gave to her, Biki was still a wild girl and secretly continued her stripping job at night.

Williams was oblivious to her lifestyle and wouldn't listen to what people said about Biki as he had fallen deeply for her. Though she loved Williams but she still couldn't stop her dirty lifestyle.

Biki put her phone in her Jean's pocket and ran into Raymond, hugging him tight.

He took a step back and held Biki firmly on the waist, holding her in place. Biki buried her face on his chest, sobbing quietly.

"It's alright, it's gonna be alright," he said softly, rubbing her back gently.
As much as he disliked Biki, he felt really terrible for her and tried soothing her in a soft tone.

Biki raised her head slowly as she let go of Raymond. She sniffed hard and wiped her eyes with the back of her palm.

"Hey." Gloria walked towards them and took Biki into her arms, as they both sobbed on each other's shoulder.

Raymond stood watching as both women held each other and cried.
He didn't know if he should excuse himself or try and comfort them.

'What the heck!  This shit ain't my specialty.'

He thought and moved away from them.
Situations like these always made him so uncomfortable.

Breaking away from the embrace, Gloria wiped away Bikis' tears with her thumb.
"It's alright, it's gonna be alright I promise." Gloria whispered softly to Biki, trying to calm her.

"He doesn't deserve this." Biki choked as more tears rolled from her eyes
"He's such a good man, he doesn't deserve this." She placed a palm over her mouth and sobbed.

After closing her salon and planning on getting home to get a quick shower before hitting the club, Biki got a call from the hospital, informing her about Williams situation. She was the first person to get called as her number was the only number saved in Williams favorite list. Leaving behind everything, Biki frantically rushed to the hospital in tears. Williams had undergone four surgeries through the night, almost loosing his life.
Biki wasn't in the right state of mind to call anyone or inform them about Williams situation as she might break down in more tears . It was Gloria who contacted her after Raymond had ordered her out of his office.

Raymond walked up to Biki and placed his hand gently on her trembling shoulder.
"I'm deeply sorry, Biki." His voice was low and soft.
"You don't have to worry. I know Williams well, and one thing I know about that man is that he's a survivor.
And if he could survive through the surgeries, then he definitely will survive this coma."

Biki looked at the tall handsome man that was her boyfriend's boss with admiration in her eyes.
She sniffed hard and swallowed the heavy lump in her throat.

"You need to be strong Biki, for Williams and for yourself too," he said wiping a tear that eascaped her eyes with his thumb.

Biki said nothing but nodded slowly with a small smile on her face. She felt so relieved and grateful that they came as soon as she called.

"Has any of his family member arrive?" Gloria asked.

Biki sniffed, wiping her face with the sleeve of her sweater.
"Not yet. His mother and sister are still on their way,but they should be getting here before 2pm," she replied.

"Well." Raymond let go of her shoulder.
"I'll see to it that the bills are taken care of," he told her.

"Really?" Biki couldn't believe what he just said.
Gloria looked at him with admiration as a wide smile spread on her face.

His employees could testify that he was a caring boss. Raymond always showed compassion and care towards his employees at the gallery and his father's company. He had a kind heart and he was easily loved by everyone.

"Yes. it's the least I can do, so don't worry about it." He gave Biki a warm smile.

"Oh." Biki sighed with relief, "Thank you so much." She smiled happily.

"You should get some rest now Biki. I believe you havent had any since yesterday," he said to her.

Biki gave him a weak smile and shook her head. "But if I leave, who will look after him? Someone needs to be here when his family gets here," she told him.

"I will stay," Gloria said quickly and then turned to Raymond, "If it's okay with you sir." She added quietly.

Raymond nodded and said, "Of course, i think you should stay."
Biki was right. Someone had to be there to meet Williams family when they arrived.

"Thank you so much Gloria." Biki smiled as she placed her hand on Gloria's arm. Words couldn't express how grateful she was for their help.

"Hey don't mention. Its the least i can do, don't worry. Besides you need to go home and relax, you look so tired." Gloria smiled at Biki as she reached out and removed a strand of hair from Bikis' face, tucking it behind her ear.

Raymond gave a short nod. "She's right, you need to rest Biki."

"Okay." Biki agreed with a short nod.
After crying her heart out all through the night and couldn't sleep, she really needed to head home and get some sleep.

"Well if you don't mind, i could give you a ride to your place." He offered.

"Yeah, I would appreciate that," Biki said with a tired smile on her face.

She then left to get her bag inside the room and came out quickly as she gave Gloria a hug and walked out with Raymond.

Inside the elevator, Raymond was reluctant to ask her if she knew about the whereabout of the paintings. He looked down at her from the corner his eyes and saw how stressed she looked. He didn't want it to seem like he cared about the paintings than Willams well being. So he decided not to ask her anything.

"Oh I almost forgot." Biki turned to him.
"Could you please drop me off at the police station, I need to retrieve some of Williams stuff."

"What happened to the truck driver?" He asked.
Gloria had told him as they drove to the hospital that Williams car was knocked over by a truck.

"He's still in police custody. I pray he doesn't get bail. I mean the guy was fucking drunk while driving." She exhaled angrily, gripping her handbag tight.

"I'll make sure he gets what he deserves." He assured her, placing a hand softly on her shoulder.

"It's funny though." She chuckled weakly.

"What?"

"They told me, they retrived two paintings. I mean, his car was totally destroyed yet nothing happened to the paintings." She shook her head and sighed deeply.

"Fuck."
He cussed under his breath.

It would had been better if the paintings were destroyed rather than Willams.
At least, Raymond could replace the paintings or refund back Mr Park's money but he could never replace the damages that has happened to Williams. Who knew what Williams would go through once he recovers? An accident like this will surely affect Williams life.
The thought angered Raymond.

'Fuck Mr park.' He cussed.
