chapter 13

It was a Sunday night and Raymond was hanging out at his best friend's house. They were seated in Bright's game room as they shared a bottle of red wine.

Bright was bald with full black beard and had hazel eyes. He was tall and muscular and had tattoos on his chest and right arm.

Raymond had known Bright for five years and they had gotten really close over the years. Bright worked in a construction company and lived alone in his luxurious apartment.

"So you finally broke up with her?" Raymond asked Bright in a calm tone as he took a sip of his drink.
They were done playing snooker as they sat down on the couch and Bright told Raymond how he had broken up with his girlfriend.

"Yeah." Bright exhaled sharply, folding his arms.
"I told you I was gonna do that."

Bright had often complained to Raymond how his girlfriend, Samantha was constantly nagging and demanding huge amount of money from him.

Bright could afford whatever luxury Samantha wanted but he just couldn't keep up with her shitty attitude. She was ungrateful, disrespectful and quite rude towards him and he couldn't take it anymore. As much as he loved her, there were certain things a man wouldn't tolerate from any woman and one of those things was "disrespect".

"Took you long enough to dump her ass. I'm glad you got to see her other fucked up side before you guys had gone deep," Raymond said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

Raymond never really liked Samantha. He hated how demanding and needy and ungrateful she was to Bright. Seeing how often they would fight in his presence and how Bright would always complain to him about Samantha, Raymond felt lucky he wasn't committed to any woman.

Bright Chuckled with a short nod."You're right bro," he said as he took a sip of his drink, placing the glass on the table.

"Fuck!" Bright muttered, sighing deeply as he placed his arm on the table and linked his fingers, a deep frown on his face.
"Women are full of shit."

"Hey, not all of them okay."Raymond cautioned.
"It's just that the good ones are kind of hard to find. Besides, we men are also full of shit."

Bright nodded in agreement. "Well you're right though," he said as he grabbed the bottle of red wine and refilled his glass.

"Well I'm done with all these fake love and bullshit. I just wanna find my real woman and be happy," Bright said as he raised his glass and took a long sip.

"Me too." Raymond mumbled to himself leaning back on the couch, but Bright heard him.

Dropping the glass and wiping his mouth with the back of his palm,
"Well if you wanna find your real woman, then quit fucking everything in a skirt," Bright told him.

Raymond laughed, shaking his head lightly. "You can't blame me man, they are the ones coming after me."

"And you never say no." Bright Chuckled.

"I say no when I'm not interested, okay. Besides I don't have any woman in my life right now, so hell yeah, I can fuck any ass I want." Raymond grinned as he grabbed his glass and took a sip.

"You're nuts man," Bright said with a snort.

Till this day, Bright never understood Raymond's sexual lifestyle. Since they've been friends for the past five years, Bright had never seen Raymond drooling over a woman or in a relationship.

While Bright would be looking for a woman to love, Raymond would be looking for a woman to fuck.
It was strange but Bright respected Raymond's privacy. Though Raymond had never told Bright the reason why he lived this way, Bright could sense that Raymond was holding unto something or someone.

"Dude shut the fuck up." Raymond laughed. "You're just talking bullshit because you're heartbroken and you look like shit. What you need right now is some sweet ass smacking your face to get your groove back."

"Fuck you man." Bright waded him off, giving Raymond the middle finger.

Raymond let out a loud laugh as he watched his friend. It was crazy to Raymond how Bright was always looking out for love, looking out for the woman that would make him happy.
Even when Bright would often try to advice Raymond to stick to one woman, Raymond would shrug him off with a laugh.

"No fuck you, because that's what you need right now,so..." Raymond was interrupted by his phone's ringtone. He reached for his phone on the table and checked the caller's ID.

When he saw that it was Biki that was calling, his brows arched into a frown and he tossed his phone on the couch.

Bright watched Raymond with his brows raised as he brought his glass to his lips. "You're not gonna answer that?" Bright asked, taking a long sip of his drink.

"Hell no," Raymond said as he refilled his glass.

"Is it Sophia?" Bright inquired , raising a brow.

"Would have been better,"  Raymond said with a snort as he picked up his glass and drank the remaining content. Wiping his mouth with the back of his palm, he grabbed the bottle of wine and refilled his glass.

"Anna? Michelle? Grace? Lisa?" Bright had an amused smile on his face.
He could give a list of the names of women Raymond hooked up with.
With the look on Raymond's face, he knew it could be any of the women that called.

"Man shut the fuck up." Raymond laughed. "What makes you think that it's not about work or..or something else huh."

Bright scoffed, "Dude how long have we been friends? I know that frown on your face is for a woman you're trying to avoid."

Raymond nodded as he chuckled."Well you know me too well."

"So who's it this time?" Bright asked folding his arms.

Raymond let out a long breath."It's Biki."

"Who now?" Bright asked confused.

"Willams girlfriend." Raymond let out a frustrated sigh as he raked a hand in his hair.

"Okay, So?" Bright raised a brow, giving Raymond a questioning look as he couldn't understand why Raymond looked pissed off since it was Williams' girlfriend that called.

"Man, this woman has been bothering me every fucking day with her calls, texts and even coming to the gallery disturbing me with her annoying fake tears and sad talks about Williams." Raymond complained with an annoyed frown on his face.

Raymond thought that Williams accident would open Bikis'eyes and she would stop her messing around and focus only on Williams. But he thought wrong! She had used Williams accident as an excuse to seek comfort from Raymond by constantly calling, texting and even going to the gallery to see him. It was becoming annoying and Raymond was fed up with her attitude.

"Well, maybe she's just trying to seek comfort from a friend," Bright said as he took a sip from his glass. Though it was the first time Raymond was telling him this, but Bright didn't sound surprised.

"I'm not her fucking friend okay, and the only comfort she wants from me is my dick up her ass," Raymond told him with a snort.

"Whoa! why would you say that man? Have she even made any advances to you?" Bright asked.

"She doesn't need to make any move, I can see it in her fucking eyes." Raymond answered bluntly, pointing two fingers towards his eyes.

Bright laughed hard. "Man you're so fucked up."

"Yeah, whatever." Raymond shook his head as he picked up his phone.

"You gonna call her back?" Bright questioned.

"Hell no." Raymond replied looking through his phone as he checked his email. Bright shrugged his shoulders as he said nothing. He picked up his glass and took a sip of his drink.

Raymond's phone rang again and he sighed as he saw it was Gloria that was calling. "What's it Gloria?" He asked as he picked her call.

"Sir Williams is awake." Gloria shouted excitedly over the phone.

"What!" Raymond exclaimed aloud, shocked by the news. Bright was surprised by Raymond's outburst and woundered who Raymond was talking to on the phone as he placed his glass on the table.

Raymond couldn't believe what he just heard.
It had been two weeks already and willams was still in coma. To hear that he was finally awake was a huge relief to Raymond.

"Biki just called and..and said he woke up this morning." Gloria informed him.

"Wow!" Raymond exhaled in relief, "that's ...that's great, this is really good," he said as a wide smile spread on his face.

"Yes it is, I'm so happy sir. " Gloria said happily .

"Me too. Thanks for letting me know Gloria," Raymond said.

"Alright sir, good night," she said.

"Yeah, you too," Raymond said and hung up.

"Dude what's up?" Bright asked as he noticed the happy look on Raymond's face.

Raymond looked at him, smiling widely. "Williams just got out from coma,he's awake man."

"Wow,that's great news man." Bright beamed happily.

"Yeah." Raymond nodded and sighed deeply, still in shock by the news. He could feel the sense of relief flushing through his veins and he felt grateful that finally, Williams had woken up.
All those while Williams was in coma, Raymond felt uneasy as guilt clouded his mind. He would often pray silently for Williams to recover as he couldn't bear to carry such a heavy burden if willams didn't survive.

"Well let's make a toss for this good news," Bright said as he took his glass and gave Raymond his own.

Smiling, Raymond took his glass and raised it up. "To Williams." He shouted happily.

"To Williams."
They clicked their glasses together and drank.
