Chapter Sixteen: Here's To Day

Luna was really tired lately, she was tackling more work shifts. Since the holiday season had passed she had spent way too much money. And she was paying for it by working non-stop. She was so busy she kinda forgot about her life outside of work. Which was not okay, she was so tired, but it felt like she wasnt getting enough sleep when she woke up.

Eddie was so in love with Luna it hurt him. He loves everything about her. But the problem with Luna is that some days she would have these episodes where she would go dark and not answer anyone's text or phone calls and it wasn't because she hated them or she was mad. It was because she was too tired or too sad to talk with anyone and that's just how she coped.

Luna was half awake in the shower. She was trying to take one since she missed taking one all week. Currently she was at Eddie's house having decided to make a last minute trip over. Which he of course didn't mind at all. She  washes herself quickly deciding it would be best to get out.

She climbs out and sits down on Eddie's bed feeling like absolute crap. She was so tired and the room around felt bright, extremely and utterly bright. She had to take a shower quickly because the lights were so bright. Eddie was finishing up Putting Christopher to bed when he walked into his room. He flicks on the light and Luna winces.

"Please turn it off."

"Okay." He replies turning the like of quickly the sound makes her head hurt, she feels the pain increasing. "You okay?" he kneels down in front of her,

"I think I am having a migraine.." She swallowed thickly the nausea she was having wasn't helping the room felt better cause it was dark.

"Here, lay down." Eddie lays her down on the bed and she feels herself relax, her hair was still wet and she still was wrapped in her towel.

"I need to get dressed." She mumbles but there was no way she was getting up. She was already lightly snoring two minutes later. He just chuckles deciding to shower as well before going to bed. He wraps his arms around Luna and after a few minutes he was asleep too. Things seemed better this way simpler.

Luna hadnt realized how long she had slept for. It was now almost ten in the morning. She had a day off and was planning on doing some chores but instead she ended up sleeping. She looks around not seeing Eddie in sight. She pulls on one of his shirts from his dresser draw and walks out into the house. Eddie was in the kitchen she could tell by the swearing that was coming from it. She opens the door seeing him attempting to cook.

She giggles and he turns to look at her. "Good morning." he smiles. She walks over to him and he turns the stove off. "Well I was attempting to make breakfast but I burned it." he says as she laughs.

"I will cook us breakfast." She replies and he puts his hands up in defense he takes the apron off and puts it on over her head. She gets to work getting all her pans out and all her ingredients. Deciding to simply make omelets. She makes them and sits the plates down on the table. Eddie places some mugs down filled with coffee.

"So what should we do today?" Luna munched on the food she felt like she had slept for two whole days and was very refreshed.

"We can do whatever it is you want?" he says as she smiles. Of course they did some shopping around for books, got herself a new plant, and Eddie a new plant and also a few decor items for his place cause it was pretty bland.

The entire trip to Target Luna was so happy she was dancing and singing around the store. Showing items to Eddie. She would joke around and say he needed it. Knowing that it was the complete opposite of his personality.  She was comfortable around Eddie it felt easy, she could be herself and not get judged for it, they had yet to have sex. Just a lot of intense makeout sessions that did not lead to anything. It wasn't that she didn't want to. She just wasn't ready. Her life had been a complete and utter shit show when it came to dating and she was worried that if she gave up that part of herself he would get bored and find someone new.

Eventually it was the afternoon and after deciding to get some subway and lounge around for a bit. It was time for her to bake Chimney's birthday cake which she volunteered to do. She didn't mind doing it at all; her baked goods were to die for. Truth be told if she could she would own a bakery. She stayed up for the rest of the day making it before deciding she should go home.

"Stay." Eddie says as she gathers her things.

"You know the rules.."

"If you stay..we will grow attached to each other and get bored later on down the road. It's not true I can never get bored of you."

Luna tosses her deodorant in her big duffle bag. "You don't know that. Eddie. You can't predict the future."

Eddie walks over to Luna and turns her to face him, their eyes locked on each other. "You are right I can't predict the future, But I can know my feelings. And I know that I can't be bored of you. If anything my life is boring without you. And I know that my Kid loves you and my Tia Pepa loves you and My abuela loves you. And everyone at the 118 loves you and....'' They pause for a second. Was this really happening? Was he really about to say this right now? Right when she was packing up her bags. They had been dating for a year now "And what? Edmundo?"

"I would really like it if you stayed."

Luna nods. "Okay." her voice was soft and Mousey. " I will stay just one more night." she says and he nods, kissing her head. For a moment things seemed tense but then after a few more minutes they were relaxed.

Luna was questioning everything but its okay because so was Eddie. He had dropped off Chimney's birthday cake which everyone at the firehouse left rave reviews. They were on call still everyone was doing different things. Hen was on her laptop a few sheets of paper spread out all over the table in front of her. Chim was eating a piece of the cake which was red velvet. Eddie was drinking coffee next to him.

Bobby entered the kitchen area. "Hey, Chim, you mind if I take home some of this birthday cake for Harry and May?"

" Sure, knock yourself out." He replies.

"Thank you." Bobby smiles cutting a few pieces.

" How are they doing? How's Michael?"

" Uh, he's upbeat. He's fighting. Radiation was supposed to be his best sh*t Now we're all grappling with pinning our hopes on his second best shot, surgery."

" How are the kids handling it?" Eddie asks.

" Well, I think Harry's okay. I'm worried about May. She's got a better understanding of what's going on."

"That's 'cause older siblings don't have the luxury of blissful ignorance. They understand the truth even if they don't want to" Chim says, which was very oddly specific. Everyone looks around at each other.

" Guessing it's not going too well with Albert." Buck turns around in his seat to face Chimney.

" Maddie told you?"

" Ooh, sorry. Was she not supposed to?" Buck winces a bit.

" Who's Albert?"

" He's my younger half-brother from Korea. He showed up on my doorstep. Not quite the birthday surprise I was expecting."

" That's awesome. I didn't even know you had a kid brother." Eddie smiles as he sipps more of his coffee.

" Yeah, when do we get to meet him?" Bobby asks. Everyone seemed really happy the only person not happy was Chim oddly enough.

" Well, that doesn't really seem necessary. He's gonna be leaving soon anyways. My dad insisted on it."

" Come on, you finally have a chance to get to know your brother." Buck continrues as Hen gets up from the spot she is in.

" No, I don't know. It just feels weird to me. Sure, we share some of the same DNA, but he's still practically a stranger to me."

" I keep telling you. Family comes to us in different ways, Chim. Lean in. And don't think you're gonna send him home without meeting all of us. I know you." Hen says passing out a paper to each  person.

" Uh, what is this?"

"Talking points regarding Henrietta and Karen"? Bobby reads.

"Social services is vetting Karen and me to become foster parents. We listed each and every one of you as references so when they call, I need you all to sing our praises."

" You mean these specific 26 praises?" Eddie jokes as Hen laughs.

"Karen made the list. She's very thorough."

" Hen, we know you. We don't need some piece of paper to remind us of your many wonderful qualities." Bobby says as everyone nods.

"I appreciate that, Cap, but I'd rather you didn't improvise. The stakes are very high."

" I didn't know you played a musical instrument."

"Mm-hmm. Bassoon. First chair. And I was damn good. Memorize, people'' and with that she walks away.

" What's a bassoon?" Buck scratches the side of his head.

Luna was in the squad car with her partner. They were having lunch. In the car she was telling Athena about everything going on with Eddie.

"We were just standing there and I was waiting for him to say it, and."

"He didnt." Athena finishes as Luna nods.

"I dont know. Is it me? We have been dating for a year. It's almost gonna be two here soon. What if he is already bored of me?"

Athena just sighs. "Well hows the sex? You can always tell what is wrong with the relationship by the sex." Luna gives her a pinched face. Athena practically chokes on her food. "You havent had sex?"

"I am scared. Athena. What if its been so long that I forgot how to have sex and Im just suddenly bad at it? Or what if he relaizes after the sex that I am not what he wants and we just break up? Or..."

"Or what if you're over thinking things and everything will be fine. Girl please that man is so in love with you I think he might actually die if you leave him again." the two partners laugh.

"You're right."

"For a Genius you aren't very smart."Athena jokes as Luna laughs. She thinks for a moment.

"Hey, So how do I send one of those photos you and Hen were talking about?"

"Oop" She scoffs as they laugh.

"This is dispatch,  a unit was requested at Saddle Peak Drive."

"That's five minutes away, you wanna take it?" Luna asks as Athena nods and puts her seatbelt on.

"Dispatch this is 727-L-30 and 31 we are en route."

They arrive at the scene and Bobby walks over to them

"Hey. That's your man right there." He points to a guy who seems disheveled. They of course take statements and everything before heading to the hospital to get that guy statement as well. It had been a day and she had Eddie go to bed that night. The next day rolls around quickly.

Hen and Chimney arrive back at the firehouse just in time for Dinner they walk up the stairs.

"Okay, guys. Grossest cases to talk about while we eat. We go first." Chim says with a huge smile on his face. It drops when he sees his brother in view.

" Albert."

"Hey, bro." He smiles as Chimney.

" Chim, your... Your kid brother is a pistol." Buck laughs.

" Half-brother. What are you doing here?"

" I wanted to see you. See where you work. Your captain said you're on the way back from the hospital. I, uh, heard you saved a man's life. "

"Yeah, we don't really talk about that stuff here. You can't really show up without calling." Chimney replies sternly.

" Ah, come on. He's no trouble. He even had time to give Cap a tutorial on how to make Korean dumplings. Um, Mandela?"

" Mandu." He corrects Buck." I grew up watching my mother make them every other day. Best thing is she can freeze 'em in bulk, pop 'em in a pan, and boom, lunch."

" I'm gonna keep that in mind." Bobby nods.

" Even better, I snack on them at ball games." He says as Eddie perks up.

" Wait, you like baseball?"

" Very much." Albert nods.

" We should go to a game together." Eddie beams. Meanwhile Chimney pulls up a chair and they all try to talk with albert. Eddie's phone buzzes from his pocket and he doesn't want to be rude but he opens it under the table while he is drinking water seeing a text from Luna he opens it and starts choking on his water.

Buck hits Eddie on the back and everyone looks at him a bit concerned. "You okay?"

"Yeah, just water went down the right pipe." he coughs a few more times before clearing his throat. He goes back to his phone.

Luna had finally sent that photo. She took a few tips from Riley and Gabby, Gabby even facetimed her while she practiced some poses.  She decided on using the mirror on her closet to its advantages. She sat on the floor in front of it, she was wearing  a button up shirt, it was Eddie's she left it open just enough to reveal her bare chest her nipples could be seen peeking through the fabric and her face was covered she took it from the lips down even bit her lip like Gabby told her to. The shirt was falling off one of her shoulders. It was hot. A very sexy photo and she made sure to send it at a time she knew he was busy.  Gabby told her to ignore his messages for a bit, leave him hanging and let him squirm for a while. She ended up falling asleep and then grew busy the next day and simply forgot to reply. It was fun watching him squirm; she was invited to a small get together at Eddie's place. She arrives with buns for the burgers, Chimney points her to the back where Eddie is on the grill. She watches as he grills up burgers with a beer in one hand.

"He grills." Luna says she laughs seeing the expression on his face. "Hi." She walks up to him and he closes the grill.

"Hey, I have been missing you." He says they sway back and forth into each other's arms.

"I am here now, I was told to bring food, I bought buns." she holds them up as he laughs along with her. "I didn't have time to get anything, I just really wanted to get here. To see you." she smiles at him.

They talk for a while before going back inside with the plate of burgers. The party was a welcome to Albert to the neighborhood type thingy and after everyone left Luna decided to help Eddie clean up. She sends Eddie off to take out the trash, Chris was staying with his Buck for the night. And she decides to make her move.

She planned everything perfectly she knew that the trash would be extremely full in the can as well which meant Eddie would have to walk it down the street to the dumpster giving her a total time of six minutes. She had worn a really pretty matching set just for this reasoning. She goes to the bathroom and pulls off the dress, kicking off her shoes. Before tossing her hair around a bit. She knew that Eddie would want to come inside, wash his hands and probably watch a movie.

She puts on the shirt she brought, the same one she wore in the photo and looks herself over in the mirror one last time just as she hears the door close. She walks out into the living room just as she hears the sink from the kitchen turn off.

"Hey, so I was thinking that we can watch..." his jaw is practically on the floor at this point. He looks up at the sight in front of him.

"What were you thinking?" Luna acts all coy like she isn't the reason he is drooling. 

"I was thinking..."

"You said that Already...." she giggles at the look on his face. He was so frazzled and she loved every minute of it. She walks up to him. "What's the matter cat's got your tongue?" she asks. she was being a flirt and it wasn't actually that hard when you were dating the person.

Eddie opens his mouth then closes it truthfully he was not okay, he was actually having a mini stroke, his mind was thinking of things, things that fall in the category of bad or dirty. She kisses him hungrily at first and he takes the hint immediately they are stumbling through the house trying to get to his bedroom. If he had it his way they wouldn't have made it to his bedroom but this had to be special. Because well she was special.

She climbs back onto his bed and he turns into a literal puddle at the sight of her. Dewy eyed and horny. She was very much turned on by this. The lustful look in his eyes wasn't helping and soon they were back to kissing again, the elongated lip pulling. He kisses down her neck and she whimpers out a small moan which sends him over the edge. He leaves love bites along her chin as she moans again. Maybe it was the fact that she was completely and utterly horny or the fact that they were so in love but she felt this new found confidence. She moves his hand into her underwear, guiding him with her fingers on what to do. She then moves her out of the way. He watches her, knowing exactly that he was hitting the right spots when her head falls back.

She moans and Eddie continues what he's doing. She was testing the waters trying to see what it was he liked. This continues.  for a few before she is undoing his pants. She takes off his belt and tosses it to the side. Before straddling him now.

"You have no idea what you're doing to me." Eddie says which causes her to moan, truth be told Luna had a big praise kink which Eddie quickly discovered. Before long they were naked kissing each other, he moves slowly inside of her at first and she grinds her hips against him and he takes that as he que to move quicker only slightly thought, not to fast just steady, he watches her features, which are relaxed, he could feel her nails digging into the skin on his back, which caused him to let out a low grunt. He was studying her by taking notes of what she liked and what she didn't.

She was biting her lip, he then watched as her eyes suddenly rolled back, this is his reckoning, the moment of all moments. That was it the instant face of satisfaction, the slight shudder of her body and the eye rolling to the back of her skull. It was something that easily set him off. They ride the wave of euphoria together before becoming undone. He pants and lays down next to her. Her chest was rising and falling alot. She was completely out of breath as was he. She turns to look at him and he looks at her. The two were in love like madly in love.

"Wow, that was amazing."

"Yeah probably the best sex I've had in a while actually."

"I love you." Eddie says as Luna looks up at him.

"I love you. Too " Luna replies he laughs a bit and she lays her head on his chest and they fall asleep like that.
