16. Finding a crack.

I turned around to coral arches, a blond teen, and a skinny Timelord.

"What? Who are you? How did you get here?" The Doctor was surprised.

"Doctor! The wrong one, but oh well. Still is a madman in a blue box. I'm Riley. You don't know me yet." I Explained, hoping that he would just accept that.

"Riley? You've regenerated. You can't be here. Two of you could create a massive paradox."

"Two of me?" I thought aloud.

"Oi. Whats with the yelling?" A redhead said as she entered the consol room.

"Donna, we have a guest." Donna looked at me.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"Riley Griffin." I straightened and turned to the three girls that had just entered.

"No I'm Riley." A girl with black hair and blue eyes spoke up.

"Prove it." I said, flashing my eyes purple and white. They all stepped back, frightened.
'Riley' shared a glance with the Doctor.

"How did you do that?" The blond guy asked as I put them back.

"I just flashed my eyes, surely she has done it before. It's nothing new." I gestured to the other Riley.

"Since when can I do that?" She asked unbelieving, and a little insulted.

"Since, I discovered that I was a half angel Timelady with the blood of a demon. It was right before I opened the watch." I sassed.

"WHAT?" They were all shocked. I was confused.

"Umm, you don't know anything?" I asked, suddenly regretting my bluntness.

"When I opened the watch, I was human. And with the Doctor, Harold and Aviva." She gestured her friends.

"Aviva? Is that really you?" I looked at her closely, unbelieving.

"Yeah, there isn't another me running around somewhere is there?" She asked in a way that only those who knew her would know she was joking.

"No." I laughed a small scoff, then went back to serious. " Sorry, it's just... your dead. You died in the car wreck during eight grade."

"No I didn't. No one died in that wreck." She protested.

"YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY DIED! I know I was there! I survived without a starch on me. It must have been the angel blood, or demon, who knows." The I yelled and a few lights flickered.

Ok, calm down a bit. Your gonna scare them.

"Your from a different universe, or your mind is just fried." Donna tried to rationalize.
"Yeah, or she smoked something." Riley muttered to my scrutiny. I ignored her.

"How about both? Hey take me to earth. I can prove what I am." I looked at the Doctor, expecting compliance. He was looking at the other Riley, making faces like they were talking.

"Allright. But tell this, who are you married to?" He pointed at my left hand, which had the wedding band on it.

"The Doctor." I straightened and shot a glare towards the other. They continued a silent conversation.

"Hey,Professor X and Marvel Girl communicate with us, I don't want to read your minds if I don't have to. Plus, if you are me then he is your hubby too. Can I get some real clothes?" I asked looking at my dirty, singed, and torn dress.

"Girls take her to get something to wear. No fighting." The Doctor ordered.

I found a pair of jeans, a blue tank top, and some combat boots to wear under my trenchcoat.

I had already gotten changed and now was inspecting the contents of my pockets.

Sonic. Paper. A photograph. The Tardis key on a chain. A neckalace of tooth and claw from Purgatory. My bone-handled knife, and my angel blade.

"Is that human?" Donna pointed to my knife.
"No it is the bone of a Leviathan. Those are the teeth of a few vampires. The blade is made from the scale of a dragon."

"Someone played too many video games." Aviva muttered in the other's ear. I spun around and held the blade to Aviva's throat. As I spoke it dug deeper into her skin.

"Don't make a joke of Purgatory. I lost my daughter there. I fought thousands of nameless beasts. monsters you consider myth have atrempted to kill me, their biggest threat. Human souls go to heaven or hell, but monsters go to purgatory when they die. I survived for over a year there. In my last minute of being in that wretched place my baby was killed, again. I could do nothing about it because I was regenerating. What do I find when I wake up? An alternate reality, how it might have gone if I had been born human. And I find people that laugh at my pain. The last beast that did that, I ripped out his heart."

I removed the blade and healed the small cut the blade had made on Aviva's neck. I then placed everything back in my pockets.

"Your a-" The other Riley started.

"Stop. You have no idea what I am. Don't peg me monster, because you don't know what I've been through. I have been forced to kill innocent people. I had no control over my actions..."

"Oh come on I said no fighting! We are here." The Doctor poked his head through and saw clenched fists.

"There wouldn't be a fight." I pushed past him and lead the way out of the Tardis.

We were at Bobby's. I banged on the door and was met with a shotgun.

"Who are you?" A bearded man that smelled of alcohol and pine demanded.

"Hi Bobby. It's Riley, the half angel half demon girl the boys met."

"What?" He grabbed a bottle of water and soaked us so fast we didn't have time to flinch. Of course it still burned me, making everyone on edge.

"Aaah. That HURT Bobby. Come on! You know me. Sam and Dean know me. I'm your friend."

"Sam and Dean are dead. They were killed by Dick Roman. The Leviathan."

"What? No. Dean kills him, and gets sent to purgatory with Castiel." I argued.

"Castiel? He isn't dead."
I sighed in relief.
"He's in the cage with Lucifer." Crap

"Everything is wrong here. Your dead, Sam is alive, Dean and Cass are stuck in purgatory, and Dick is dead. I just got out of purgatory and I end up in the wrong friggin' universe!" The lights flickered in the house.

"Bobby I need a spell. To go to purgator-no I don't...Doctor take me to a place called Trenzalore." A vision had just flickered across my sight.

"Why?" He looked a bit frightened of the name.

"Because I said so. There was a crack in time and space that brought me through to this world, if I am correct, there is a crack on Trenzalore that I can get back to my universe through.... you don't have to land, just get me close to the planet." He nodded and we started back to the Tardis.

"Stop." I said.

"What now?" Harold whined. I turned around to see Bobby, alive watching us go.

"You said I was dead. How'd I go?" He asked from the porch.
"Fighting. Dick Roman shot you in the head. You were in a coma for days after it happened....I never got to say..." I walked up to him.

"Goodbye? Cuz that's the most cliché thing.-" I cut him off with a big bear hug.

"Thank you. Even though we didn't know eachother that well. For helping me and the boys, for helping my husband when he lost me. I know it wasn't you, but I needed to say it. Bobby singer you are a good man."
He eventually hugged back.

"No, thank you." He whispered in my ear before we parted.

I waved back from the Tardis at the other end of the yard. He waved back as I went inside.

"It will take us a while to get there." The Doctor said as he punched in some coordinates.

"Do you have a large room that I can...test my remaining powers in?" I asked.

"Yeah, down the hall third set of octagon doors on the left." I nodded then set on my way. As soon as they thought I was out of earshot, they started talking about me.

"Doctor, she can't be trusted." Harold said.

"She attacked me because I made a joke!" Aviva said.

"She is dangerous. She may try to hurt us." The other Riley acknowledged.

"No she won't. You know how I know? If she really wanted to hurt us, we would be dead. Try and put yourselves in her situation. Locked up, tortured, forced to kill and fight to protect your daughter for six years. Then you find a way out and your girl dies. You are now stranded in a universe where everyone you know is either dead, or doesn't know who you are. You find some people that can help, but you haven't been around people for years, and the ones you have been around are either dead, tried to kill you,or they helped torture you. So yeah you may not be the most social butterfly after a wing gets ripped off." He protested.

I flew back to them, startling them.

"How did you know of my wing?" I asked the Timelord.

"Well, when you were changing, Riley saw your back. Eight extra shoulder blades, but one of them looked destroyed. I assumed that those were your wings." He stammered

"You were right." I made my wings visible, and ignored the gasps of amazement..

"The one I am missing was hacked off by Leviathan in the first month of my time in purgatory. My others were chewed on and twisted together. A while before I regenerated, I had Castiel reset them. I should be able to fly long distance soon, just a matter of muscle memory. Now if you will excuse me." She I flew back and continued testing different abilities.

Aviva knocked on the large door.
"Come in." I turned from the wood dummy that I was carving into with my finger.

"We are about ten minutes out." She stood partly inside the door frame as she spoke and turned away as soon as she was done.

"Aviva! Wait." She stopped and looked at me, avoiding my eyes.

"I'm sorry. About my reaction earlier. It was far ouside of the normal range of behavior that is acceptable. It's just, I forget how delicate humans are. If I did that with any other creature it would've instilled respect, but with humans it instills fear. I am just out of practice dealing with such fragile creatures. Even my daughter was able to throw most monsters around. I do wish that you will forgive the actions of my instinct." I hung my head a little

She met my gaze for the first time since I threatened her.

"We'll see...what was your daughter? If you don't mind my asking." She changed the subject.

"She was a Nephilim. Angel father, human mother. Very strong, fast, and durable. I adopted her when she was a baby. Well I saved her life after her mother's deceased husband threw her off a bridge." I sighed a little when I thought about it.

"Huh, your life is all sorts of crazy."
She laughed a little to avoid being scared. I laughed back.

"You said it sister. You know what's either the funniest or saddest part? At some point in my life I was human. Not entirely in blood, but in mind, heart, emotions, future plans. I was going to be a teacher. I was going to meet an amazing guy and have two kids, a couple pets, a house with a little land, and live happily ever after." A small tear rolled down my face. I tried to wipe it away, but she noticed.

"You are definitely not what you appear to be, nor are you what you think you are. You're like the Doctor, just a bit more powerful." Aviva tilted her head a bit as she spoke.

I looked up at the ceiling, which is now scratched and burned, trying to remember the good I've done to counter the bad.

"We better get to the consol room." Aviva interrupted.
.

We entered and the others looked at me, worried.

"What? It's just dimension hopping. It didn't kill me the first time, won't this time." I said as Aviva walked to Riley.

The Doctor stepped up and looked at her with brown orbs that carried the weight of hundreds of years.

"We've been thinking, that maybe you would stay here with us. Seeing that your daughter is gone and your friends are gone too..."

"Stop right there." I reached into my pocket and pulled out the photo. A little girl was on a bowtie wearing man's shoulders, playing with his brown bangs, and John was kissing the me on the head while squeezing my shoulders. I passed it around.

"I can't give that up. My husband, my baby girl, don't ask me to leave them and stay where I don't belong." I felt frightened at the thought.

"This is the Doctor in your universe? Huh, he hates bowties." Riley elbowed the skinny man.

"Well, not exactly The Doctor. He is a flesh copy of the eleventh Doctor. The Doctor now looks older, gray hair, and hoot owl eyebrows. My Doctor may be the Sylvester instead of the Real McCoy, but he is my soulmate."

"I understand, go find your bowtie wearing madman." Riley smiled as the I took the photo back and punched coordinates into my vortex manipulator.

"Before I go..." I put two fingers on Riley's forehead, her face scrunched then relaxed.

"Bow ties are cool." I say as I punched the go button.

I popped out about a hundred yards above a town covered in snow. I unfurl my wings and coast down. When I touch down on the street a little boy noticed.

"Where did you come from?" He asked.
"A different universe." I blurted.

"What are you?"
"I'm a descendant of an ancient civilization of time travellers, my mom was an angel's vessel, my father was a demon. I took the grace of an archangel and was experimented on by the King of Hell, so I really don't know anymore. Why did I just tell you that?"

"We are close to the church. No one can lie around the church."

I heard it, quite faint from this side, but I'm sure I heard it. Doctor who?

I walked to the large, ancient cathedral and saw many sick people inside.

Many nurses were running back and forth with medicines and cold towels. I stopped one of them.

"What's wrong with them?"

"We do not know, this is a very contagious disease. If you cannot help then please go. Sterilize yourself before you leave." The lady turned, her short red hair swished.

I looked at the rows of sick people. I can't leave them here. Not like this. I knelt and started touching their heads with my first and middle fingers. They sat up and stared as I healed them one by one.

The lady I stopped watched when her coworkers pointed me out. When I was done I straightened and faced the workers.

"They are healed. For future reference, this disease is caused by pink eye. The cure is prevention and saltwater drops washing out the feces. Wash you hands after touching anything near fecal matter. Do not touch your face with dirty hands."

"What's fecal?" A girl asked.

"Poop." Many in the crowd sounded enlightened.

"Ma'am who are you? So that we may thank you."

"I am the Angel of Time. I am from beyond the crack upstairs. I must go home now."

"Please just stay a little longer. To heal our other sick and injured, and to share wisdom."

I stayed to heal and as I did I talked of ways to better the community and their health.

When I was done, I climbed to the tower where the crack was. I knelt beside it.

"Hello? Doctor can you hear me? If you can, Don't answer the question. I did and I got trapped in a different universe. Can you tell me which Doctor you are?"

"'Ello? Is there someone on the other side of that? I'm the eleventh. Who is this?"

My breath caught. My Doctor.

"This is the Vision. Call me Riley. Now, Doctor I'm going to come over to your side of the crack. Don't worry, I've done this before." I backed up and jumped through the crack.
