(6) To live is to die
I didn't give Joe a chance to reply, I blasted fire from my feet causing me to shoot up into the sky. I covered my head as I break through the roof, I hope Joe wasn't harmed by any of the falling rubble. I must now stall father long enough for Joe to find mother, I hope I can stall him that long.
Shaking my head, I cleared all thoughts and worries from my mind. I must focus solely on Nightshade and distracting him. The fate of the world is depending on me, I wont let them down. I wont let Joe down.

As I soared through the sky, I instantly spotted the black spandex suit that Nightshade wore. Let's do this. I swooped down and aimed my fist at his face going at 150km/hr, my fist made contact with his face. His skin molded liked wet, malleable clay under my fist. The force of the impact sent Nightshade flying back about 10 feet, I landed swiftly on my feet as a wide grin formed upon my face.
"Did-jya miss me, Old man?" I teased. The look upon his face as he slowly got up made me tense up, though I kept my grin wide.
"Where's your brother? He left you here while he ran away?" Nightshade smirked darkly, I shook my head. I wasn't going to let him get to me, not yet.
"Nah, I just wanted you all to myself." I cracked my knuckles as I planned my next attack.
"You know by doing that, you'll end up gettin' arthritis." He took a step closer, the blades of grass bowing to his feet as he neared me. I grit my teeth and clenched my fists. I'm not going to let him win, not this time.
Releasing small fiery blasts from my feet, I lunged towards the man. My face scrunched up with anger as my clenched fists ignited into flames. His posture changed as he leaned back, a smug look appearing upon his face.
"So predictable," he let out a sigh as he raised his hand. I smirked as I began to feel my feet no longer touching the ground.
"So are you." A giant blast of fire erupted from my feet shot me forward, breaking free of his grasp that he had on me. Like a flying missile, my target was locked on. Going 100km/hr, I tackled Nightshade into a building. I smashed him through six or seven brick walls before barrel rolling to the side. "How do you like them apples?" I smirked as I calmly landed a few feet away from my father.
The pile of rubble that he was under began to shake as a deep bellowed laugh shook the ground itself. He was laughing at me. I clenched my fists and grit my teeth as he stood up from the pile.
"Is that all you got?" He roared, "tsk. Pathetic." He looked down and shook his head in disappointment. "Now it's my turn." Nightshade slowly lifted his arms into the air, the scattered bits of rubble around him lifted as well. I swallowed hard knowing what attack he was about to use.
"Do you really want to hurt your baby girl?" I cooed, hoping-praying that he'd get distracted for a brief moment and lose concentration. If this were successful, it would give me a small window of hope.
"Yes." He smirked grimly, shattering my window of opportunity as he thrusted his arms forwards toward me. The little bits of concrete, metal, and who knows what else that made up the rubble flung towards me. I punched at the bigger pieces, smashing them to bits. Smaller shards that hit me, cut through my clothes and pierced my skin as though it were nothing but thin paper.
I held a scream in as I slightly winced at the pain. I was losing the battle. I wasn't strong enough. This made me mad.
Suddenly, the temperature around us began to get hotter. My anger was triggering my pyrokinesis, I was losing control of my power and there was nothing I could do to stop it. "No. Not now!" I screamed in my head, I hated my father but I didn't want to accidentally blow him up. My fear fueled my anger, throwing my powers way out of whack.
Cars or any other pressurized container exploded from my heat, fire surrounded us. Moving in closer as though a lioness stalking its prey, the temperature rose quickly as beads of sweat pooled upon my brows. "Stop! Stop this now!" I tried to tame my out of control power, no longer focusing on keeping Nightshade out of my head.
"You're losing control...." His voice mocked me, my anger grew. A smirk grew upon his face. "...You really are a murderous villain...." His voice drew nearer, the smoke acted as a curtain, clouding my vision from seeing where he was. "....Just...." A warm breath brushed through my hair and onto the back of my neck. "....Like...." My feet froze in place as a hand placed a wet hand towel over my mouth and nose. "....Me...." I felt my legs give out as my vision turned to black. I collapsed in defeat. My body lay still upon the ground at his feet. "Forgive me... Mindlocke...." My mind went blank as I felt his take over.

"Dear daughter, you fought so hard, yet you failed. You lost. Now together I will rule the world and become the one true God." Nightshade spoke through my thoughts.
"No! I'll never let you win! Joe will save me and he will stop you too!" I snarled, I was a prisoner in my own head. I needed a way to contact Joe, without Nightshade finding out.
"But you have already lost, dear Hana. There is no escape. You are me and I am you. No one can separate us. Not even your foolish brother who abandoned you." I clung onto the bars in my mind.
"Mother can stop you!" I screamed, though no sound came as it was a thought.
"Think again kiddo, your mother is dead. Six feet under, right where I left her." He laughed, his deep eerie voice filling my mind.
"You're lying!"
"Am I?"
