(2) Mindlocke meets Crimson Flare
As I sat at my desk, head down and not at all paying attention to what the teacher was saying. Using my telekinesis power, I casually moved my pencil back and forth along the smooth desk's top.
"Joseph." I looked up when I heard my name be called, at that exact moment a warm breeze blew through me. A female with crimson red hair with a bit of curl at the ends stood next to my teacher. She wore a red plaid t-shirt with a ruffled sleeves and bottom. She had on blue jeans that looked as though they've been fed through a shredder and then taped back together. Her skin was pale with a bit of a glossy look to it. She wore a blue baseball cap backwards on her head.
"Yes, Miss Nottley?" I straightened my back and sat up tall.
"Joseph, Miss Erin is going to be your partner for the project. I expect you to make her feel welcome." I nodded slowly as an awkward smile grew upon my face.
"I will." I looked at the female just as our eyes met, she winked at me before taking the empty seat next to me. I felt my cheeks burn up, but then it was hot in that room. Something felt familiar about her, but I couldn't figure it out. I usually worked alone, even as a hero I worked alone. Maybe change is good.
"Joseph, is it?" The female looked at me with her shimmering auburn eyes, for a brief moment I could see a sparkle of flame in them.
"Yes, that's my name. Erin?" I replied with a slight nod before tilting my head to the left a bit.
"Ash. My name is Ash." The female huffed slightly as another heat wave hit me. Doesn't the school pay for air conditioning?
"Um..., well, Ash." I tried to form my words right to avoid getting huffed at again. "Do you want to meet up after school at my house to work on the project?" I suggested. A slight smile grew upon the female's face before she nodded.

"Five minutes till she arrives." I thought to myself as I frantically tried to tidy up the hazardous place I referred to as my room. Sweat spewed from my slimy forehead, I pushed my telekinetic powers to the limit in order to make the hazard zone - as my grandma called it - respectable for Ash. It was like a massive wind storm had hit my room; socks, undergarments, and dirty clothes all flew in a whirlwind towards the laundry hamper. My books - textbook or graphic novel - all had to be neatly placed onto the shelves but instead were furiously thrusted into place. The thump of a car door closing broke my concentration sending anything that had been floating, crashing to the floor.
"Shoot." I grit my teeth and leapt off of my bed. Wiping the sweat off my forehead, I quickly gathered whatever wasn't tidied up and shoved it all into the closet. Before I finished, I could hear the mumbling of Grandma and Ash talking below me. I rushed downstairs only to be met with Grandma showing Ash pictures of me as a child. "Grandma." I whined with an irritated tone.
"Oh, sorry. You two youngsters have fun now, I'll be in the sitting room if you need me." Grandma had a wide bright smile as she walked into the room she called the sitting room, I could tell she thought of Ash as a girl friend for me since I've never actually had a girl visit before. I smiled back at my grandma as she left us alone.
"Sorry about that...." I rubbed the back of my head as I looked down at the female's feet. She wore black high-top sneakers with a flame emblem on the outside near the ankle. Seeing the flame, something about me recognized it from somewhere. Where is the mystery though.
"It's cool. I think your gran is adorable." The female smiled, her tough attitude from earlier seemed to have melted away after my grandma had met with her.
"Right..., well, follow me." I waved as I led the way to my room. "Do you have any ideas...." I trailed off when I noticed that Ash was glued to the TV. The image of a hoard of police vehicles that surrounded a building flickered on the screen, the caption on the screen read "5 hostages and 1 dead." I clenched my fist, I knew if I made an excuse, Ash would figure out that I was Mindlocke. Just then, Ash looked at me and I unballed my fist.
"Sorry for leaving so early, but I just remembered that I promised my folks that I'd walk the dog." Ash waved before running out the door. It was a strange excuse, but it allowed me to do my duty as Mindlocke. I ran to my room and got suited up before heading out to save the hostages.

I arrived at the scene in my silver spandex. I sighed overhearing the officers' discuss the situation. They had the hostages at the back of the building, but most of - what they called - the muscle was located out front. I had to make a plan of action.
I made my way over to the back of the building, knowing I couldn't take on the muscle by myself, it would be smarter for me to save the hostages first. Using my power, I moved the inners of the lock to unlock the door. Taking caution, I slowly pushed the door open. Though I was soon met with the face of a rather nasty looking man, he pointed his black gun at me as a devious smirk appeared upon his face.
"Looks like we got some fresh meat." The male laughed as he loaded the bullet into the chamber, making a che Che sound.
"Meat? Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm just skin and bones." I chuckled slightly, the grunt didn't seem to appreciate my humour.
"Why don't I just say asta la viesta to you." The grunt would then begin to release his fire upon me. I sighed. These guys really need to update their style of villainy. I waved my hand and stopped the bullets with ease using my power. The shells dropped to the floor before the grunt threw a fist at my face. It took most of my strength to grab it with my bare hands and prevent him from ruining my visage.
"That's Mindlocke!" I heard one of the hostages call out as I pushed he grunt back into the wall with a wave of my telekinetic power.
The grunt weakly stood up only to be knocked down by the wall toppling over on top of him. Not again. I prayed that it wasn't the mysterious hero, but then getting the hostages out was my first priority.
"This way." I ordered as I guided the hostages out through the back to safety. Once all of the civilians were out and safe, I ran back into the building to check on the villains. But just as I stepped foot into the building, a blaze erupted setting everything into flames.
Smoke filled the enclosed spaces quickly, making it extremely difficult to see. I inhaled as much oxygen as I could before I held onto it. While holding my breath, I tried to see if I could spot the grunt that had been crushed by the fallen wall. Unfortunately, all I saw were the flickers of flames.
But suddenly, just as I turned to leave the building, a figure caught my attention. A female stood on the other side of a wall of flames, she had crimson red hair and what looked like red eyes.
"So you're Mindlocke." The female spoke in a low growl, something about it sounded familiar. "You're quite something."
"Who are you?" I coughed, smoke filling my lungs.
"Call me Crimson Flare." The female replied before the smoke thickened, blinding me from seeing the female.
...Crimson Flare...
I rushed out of the building while coughing heavily. I should have gone to the hospital, but I needed to return home. Slipping away to the nearest porta potty, I rapidly changed from my silver spandex costume to my regular jeans and white tee. As I stuffed my spandex into my backpack, the image of the female revolved around in my mind. I stood up and wiped the soot off of my face before lesving my change room and heading home to Grandma.

I arrived home to find Ash talking with Grandma in the sitting room. I dumped my backpack near the front door before wandering over to the two females.
"W-what's going on in here?" A small smiled formed on my face as my cheeks burned up.
"Joseph. I have something to tell you." Ash looked at me. "We have the same father. Joseph, I am your sister."
