TESSA NOVAK WAS terribly, horribly, brutally, normal. How someone so totally average existed, it was unknown but she somehow managed to be just that. There was nothing particularly special about her, and it seemed to give her a certain little thrill. Some people asked her how she survived, not knowing that her normality was exactly the thing that kept her alive.

TESSA NOVAK WAS the exact opposite of normal, people would have found if they looked a little closer. They all knew about her parents' death, but not the circumstances, and knew that she had been adopted by the McCall's at the age of eight. What they didn't know was the constant battle inside her to supress the energy surging through her veins, the raw power that she controlled. They didn't even know her real eye color.

The night that Scott was bit by a werewolf. The night Tessa felt the familiar terror as white filled her vision and her hands glowed with a murderous light. The night Tessa waved a huge white flag to every supernatural creature in Beacon Hills, telling them to come get her.
