Chapter 3: Sight

Her cheeks turns rather pale as she yawns, stretching her arms up as her new school blazer shifts up before settling back down. (Y/n) tugs on the bottom of her blazer to straighten out the newly made creases that sticks to her. Fingertips brush over her lip as she continues to cover up another yawn.

The morning sun peeks over the straightened edges of homes, that stand neatly in a line on each side of the road. A few cars drive past, full of people readying to start their day one way or another. It's rather early, but (Y/n) doesn't mind, and it becomes quite clear when her eyes fly up towards the golden sky, watching birds in their neat formation fly over head, a smile appears clear as day on her face. A deep breath of fresh air fills her lungs and clears her mind, her skin bathing in the morning's golden raze as if the sun is kissing her cheek good luck.

The sounds of fabric shuffling against fabric catches her attention for a moment, she looks down at her cousin fiddling with the strap of his backpack.
"You always take this path to school?" She asks curiously as she takes in the beautiful scenery pasting them by, even if it's just peaceful family homes and buildings just sitting there. Japan is home, a home (Y/n) hasn't seen for years and she doesn't want miss another chance to take everything in.
"Sometimes, I actually usually train in the mornings at the beach most of the time. Well actually the only times I don't train in the morning, is if I have a test the same day, or I injured myself " His hands wave around slightly as he explains his routine. (Y/n) nods her head figuring out that she would have to sometimes walk alone to school.
"And your all set for walking home right?" The young student doesn't want to leave anything out, she just wants to prepare herself if the occasion of her walking by herself appeared.
"Actually.." He begins rubbing the back of his neck, his eyes glued on the ground as if that is the most interesting thing he's ever seen,"I stay behind to study and get one to one help with one of our teachers; All Might" He continues.

The name didn't really shock her since she was informed about it when she was applying to the school, and then had a meeting with the principal. But she nods to show him that she is still listening.
"Hey (Y/n)? C-Can I ask something?"
"Sure"
"Why did you leave Japan?" A rather unpleasant silence grows between them, feeling the light hearted scene now shifting uncomfortably. Heaviness clings onto her (e/c) eyes, dragging them down to face their path forward. His words linger, like a single piano note that ended a beautifully made melody.
"I will tell you another time, right now I just want to focus on getting to school." He can't help but feel like he kinda screwed up, maybe it was too much of a personal question? His mind starts racing with panic fearing he hurt her in someway, but before he can apologize, (Y/n) takes notice of his rather panicked expression and chooses to change the subject.
"Hey doesn't Bakugo live down that road?" They both stare off in the streets direction.
"Yeah actually, I think so" Saying softly Midoriya closes his eyes, he can't be more grateful of the subject change.
"I remember him walking home with Mrs.Bakugo. He was cute" (Y/n) thinks back to the time where Mitsuki and Midoriya's mom would walk home together chattering, with Bakugo holding his mother's hand. (Y/n) herself was sat in Inko's arms as Midoriya walked next to her gripping her dark blue skirt. They were all just kids. Adorable kids.
"Yeah now he's a dick" SLAP! Midoriya's hands immediately slaps over his mouth with wide eyes realizing what words he just let stumble out.
...
A loud roar of laughter booms, disturbing the birds that were resting on a lamp post. (Y/n)'s hands pressed against her stomach as tears build up in the corners of her eyes, all caused from laughing so hard, it takes a minute but Izuku finally joins in laughing to at his sudden out burst.

Kacchan would kill me if he heard what I said.

It's a moment that surely will not be forgotten.

~school, UA~

It didn't usually take long for the hallways to grow lively as students flood into the building a couple at a time. Seemingly to wonder to their usual places with their friends or to wait for someone. The golden morning light peeks through the windows of the school, watching the students as they go on with their way. A few familiar faces stand in the hall ways not too far from their class room Class 1-A, not yet ready or even awake enough to step foot inside. Instead they choose to talk with one another about their weekend or plans, amongst other things.

(Y/n) had parted with Izuku since he wanted to find his friends, and she wanted to explore the building before attending class. But it's too late to realize this isn't going to be so easy, pushing through the crowds she whispers small apologizes to no one directly. Trying to worm her way through trying not to cause any problems for people, yet her foot entangles itself in her other, causing her to go stumbling into a wall. Well.. a wall that can talk.
"Whoa! Dude you okay?" Firm hands press against her shoulders with great strength. The feeling of fabric rubbing against her cheek, and the way the 'wall' moves up and down as if take take breaths, she realizes this is no wall but a person.

Darting her eyes up she sees sharp teeth and red hopeful eyes beaming down at her. Correcting herself she stands up, her cheeks once again becoming pale.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to hit into you!" She bows her head quickly in a apologetic way and to show respect towards the red haired guy she bumped into. Yet she only hears a chuckle from him.
"Hey. No worries" The smile never shows any sign of leaving his face, only grows wider with a light blush as he rubs the back of his neck.
"I was just looking around for my class, and I kinda, well, stumbled over my own feet"
"Well I'm pretty sure your class isn't on the floor so no need to be falling." He only laughs again at his own joke, which creates a friendly smile to appear on (Y/n)'s face, exactly what he wants to see.
"Do you by any chance know where class 1-A is?" Her eyes quickly flicker from her left and right, trying to spot the sign of the door.
"Hey that's my class. Are you new? Well obviously you are but-I-uh-I will show you around" She thanks him ignoring his cute awkwardness, and follows him around the school, meeting some other new classmates that pass by.

"I'm kirashima by the way."
"I'm (L/n). You know I love your hair style and color, I know that style from anywhere." Hearing this made Kirishima extremely happy, thanking her repeatedly and then going on to ( fanboy) talk about the famous hero ( to which he adores so much). They share smiles before he begins talking about what classes they will be having today and also even gives her a friendly warning about how weird the class 1-A students get, but she's expecting it. Their conversation goes on for a while, stopping every now and then to greet her soon-to-be classmates, introducing herself and create friendly starts with them all. Well.. all but one.

"Weird hair! Where have you been? I been waiting for you by the door for-"
The words twisting with annoyance cut short, leaving the ashy blonde guy standing in the middle of the hall way with wide eyes.
"Oh hey Bakugo, sorry I was just showing around our newbie" Kirishima nudges her arm with his elbow to throw Bakugo's attention on her, but his attention was already on her, staring in complete shock. With a playful smile (Y/n) rises her hand, waving towards the confused bundle of angsty, a hint of a smirk present in her lips as she remembers how he has no clue about her.
"You.." Taking his first steps towards her, she knows what he will say, how he will demand answers, even tho it's been years, she has a feeling he didn't change much. But his foot remains in the air, stopping him taking another step towards her as the bell rings. Students already start flooding the hallways, making this mist of rushing colors as they all dash away. Which gives Kirishima and (Y/n) the perfect chance to turn around and head to their own class room, the flood of students prevent Bakugo from moving for a few moments the two take this chance to create distance from him.

A long groan leaves his lips before he explodes.
"GET OUT OF MY WAY EXTRAS"

~Class 1-A~

Finding a seat is no problem, since Mr. Aizawa directs her one. Taking that seat is also no problem, but the actual problem literally just walked in. His eyes wander over the room, searching over the sea of faces to find one in particular, he gives a subtle glare towards her as he keeps his tongue held. Shifting over to his seat behind the mysterious girl, he keeps the glare on her, and she can feel the weigh of his stare weighing her down. But (Y/n) shakes it off by turning around and giving a smile to playfully tease him, but quickly turns back to face their teacher.

Bakugo thinks for a moment, resting his feet up onto his desk like he usually does.

The morning register will just announce her name, I don't even have to speak to the damn brat to get what I want.

"Since I can see there's no huge chatter about the New student we have present I don't think an introduction will be needed, since I'm assuming you already met everyone in the hallway" Mr. Aizawa eyes her, to which she just nods agreeing to his words.

For fuck sake.

Bakugo hangs his head back in frustration, turning the whole world upside down in his eyes, the curiosity is surely going to actually kill him.
"Right so we have.." Mr. Aizawa whispers under his breath (Y/n)'s name to himself, marking her present since he just spoke with her. And so he continues down the line of names reading them out loudly and waiting for individual responses. But it annoys Bakugo, it feels like the whole world is just playing one big practical joke on him, and he hates it.
"For God's sake" He groans quietly to himself as he tilts his head back up.

Hearing this only makes her giggle, the (h/c) haired girl can't be more thankful that fate is on her side, and let's her play her little guessing game longer. She knows Bakugo is too stubborn to ask the other students for help of finding out her identity. But part of her knows even if he remembers her name, he wouldn't remember her. But, she could be wrong..

Classes pass by quickly, the time faded away, but so did the blue in the sky, leaving it in its rosey golden sunset form once more. Recalling everything in her mind, she comes to the conduction that So far everything seems perfect in her eyes, it had been only regular classes today, so adjusting to everything was done problem less. The mysterious girl spent her lunch and break outside away from the annoyed boy, not wanting confrontation so soon.

Her attention snaps back into her body as she realizes her mind had started to day dream. To Midoriya's surprise, the hotheaded teen remains silent like he had all day, it's quite unusual seeing him so calm, focused on something that wasnt exploding shit up or threatening people. He had noticed it a while ago in the day actually, the way Bakugo's eyes were always on (Y/n), seeming focused and deep in thought. Of course he isn't going to confront Kacchan about it, but he rather ask his cousin once he gets back home.

And just like that, the bell rings, the sound of chairs scraping across the floor fills the room as chatter emerges, mostly parting words as the students get ready to leave. But it becomes unusual as Midoriya's eyes wander over to Bakugo's seat, seeing him still there instead of being the first one out, the sudden change is... unsettling. But his thoughts get suddenly distracted by the voice of his friends.

Placing away her white school shoes back in her shoe locker, the (e/c) eyed girl slips in one ear phone in before tying her black laces on her shoes. Her finger gliding over the phone screen in her pocket, to start the music. The locker locks back into its place, the metal door rattling slightly as the silver key leaves its place. Her eyes search around for a second, making sure Midoriya hadn't changed his mind. But his presence never comes to greet her. (Y/n) starts making her way towards the school gates. Only a few students walk in the distant ahead of her, she didn't really have a reason to rush out of class or hurry home so taking her time makes the most sense to her. It also gives her a little time to herself to think about everything. About her new classmates, the lessons, the playful way she teased Bakugo.

But the peace comes to a close as someone calls her from behind.
"Hey! You. No more running away.." Stern, serious, annoyed. All theses things mixing into the male's voice makes her stop. Freezing her in place as the wind weaves through her hair and creamy school blazer. Turning around slowly, making sure not to make any sudden movements.
"Kacchan. How lovely to see you again so soon"A smile quickly sweeps on her face, unlike his stern emotionless look, his lips in a straight line, his eyebrows narrow, shoulders tense but carelessly hung. His bag drapes over his left shoulder loosely as his finger holds it in place by its straps.

Bakugo's point of view
I hate it, how that smile spreads on her lips as if the corners are pulling the strings of her little game, toying with me, with my mind. Who the hell does she think she is calling me that.
She's probably laughing at me. Damn useless brat.
I know I won't probably get the answers, but damn am I going to fucking force it out of her if she keeps this up. She spent all day acting like everything was pitch fucking perfect. Disappearing all damn day, from the moment the bells went off she would go somewhere and I was left there again. Not this time. This time I caught up to her. And this time. I will have the answers. Wither it be from her. Or that quirkless loser.
"Stop playing around. Stop with the disappearing. You got answers I need" I can feel my gaze harder on her, sharpening like a edge of a blade.
"Why are you so curious to know who I am kacchan?" That damn name, that stupid ass nickname.
"DON'T CALL ME THAT!.. "My fists ball up, clenching tightly feeling the sweat sliding down the side of my thumb. It's clear I'm trying to avoid the question, but what's it to her. I can give a shit about whatever I want. I hate it, I hate that no one is giving me answers.

Running down the stairs I let my hand slide down the railing, letting it speed up my pace.
"STOP RUNNING DOWN THE STAIRS!" That hag never gives me a damn break. Right before jumping off the last two steps, I slam down my feet to make as much sound as possible just to annoy her even more. I search around for my dad, maybe he will know something, it wasn't hard since I found him reading the newspaper in the living room.
"Oi, pops." The rather large piece of grey paper flicks down reviling my questing dad.
"A weird girl with (E/c) eyes, um (h/c) hair was talking to mom yesterday do y--" My words were cut short as he flicks the newspaper back up. My eye twitches as I realized the sudden rejection I was just given.
"Your mother has told me everything that happened in the mall, no I will not tell you who she is. Your mom told you to figure it out on your own. Maybe you will learn the meaning of patience. " He says in a casual voice behind the huge paper. I groan loudly as I practically could feel my mother's smile behind the kitchen wall.
"You're both useless!"

"(L/n)"
"What?"
"My name is (L/n)"

Third person's point of view
His shoulders relax slightly, feeling some of the curiosity settle, but not completely. He still has questions on why she knew his mom so well, or what's her deal, why is she even in this school. And what's her relationship with that damn nerd.
Her smile never leaves her lips as she lets her little game unravel slowly, piece by piece. Even though her name echoes in his mind, he searches for the threads of memories attached, but he comes to a knot, finding no answers. Just a name that he knows he's heard before.

And just like that, she turns round and continues on her way, leaving him to stand there in silence to think. And he lets her, keeping his eyes on her fading figure.

Till she was no longer in his sight.
