Chapter 1: The first hello

Japan is a land full of mystery, where villains lie in the shadows, and heroes protect the streets. Citizens walking on with their daily lives. Life used to be so.. different. Back when quirks didn't exist, we were boringly equal. But now we are all different, one way or another, which isn't a bad thing.

Midoriya's thoughts seem to go beyond the class room walls. Instead they go way past the city view that UA had gifted the students. He can't help but stare at the way the sky fades into a cooling color of dark purples and pinks, watching what was left of the orange clouds that thinned out into nothing but strings that threaded into the sky.

The young student didn't really seem like himself lately, sure he was happy and all for getting accepted a month ago into this dream of a high school. And don't get him wrong. He is every much still happy. It has its ups and downs, with Kacchan still being very much well.. kacchan. And Midoriya was growing closer to his friends like years have already past. After all the training he's been doing so far, he couldn't be any more happier. But he couldn't help but let his thoughts find their way floating down the path back to his home, he knows he should be focusing on his English work, just like his classmates where (well most of them ).

His pale palm soon shifted from his chin, letting his fingers dig their way into his uniforms pocket. Fiddling around he feels the smooth edge of his phone. Not really wanting to get detention or be caught by his homeroom teacher, Mr. Aizawa during his long unenthused lecture on English structure, he slips his phone out and hides it under his desk. All Might stands proudly on his homelock screen with that winning smile that always reassures him. He let his finger glide on the screen to unlock it, his eyes occasionally flicking to his teacher to make sure he wasn't going to get caught.

However once he finds himself in his messages he can't help but stare longingly at the texts written by his mother.

We need to talk dear. It's important, I know we haven't really talked on family matters before but, this needs to be discussed.

I love you hun ~

I love you too mom

It makes his stomach turn and twist thinking about what could of happened that they needed to talk. They never usually needed to talk about family stuff. It was just him and his mother, and it's perfect, just the way he loves it. So what could she want to talk about?

" Deku. " A whisper catches him off guard. Making his fingers dance to desperately catch his phone before it hit the floor, and luckily he gets solid grip before it was too late. A sigh of relief leaves his lips as his attention flickers to his right to spot his friend giving him a concerned smile. How long has Uraraka been staring at him? Pink dusts over his cheeks as the corners of his lips let a calm smile claim his face, trying to push his troubling thoughts away.

She studies his face for a moment before she lets her concern settle, she reminds herself to ask him after class what was wrong. Uraraka's eyes fell back on her paper as she continued to take notes until the bell for the school day's end rings.

"Move Extras"
It never fails him to see Bakugo leave the classroom
first, his bag sung over his shoulder as his tie hangs loosely on his chest. It always gives him a sense of peace knowing at least the hothead of the room was gone and that he didn't have to hurry to pack his stuff, or be threatened by another hit.

" Hey Deku" There it is again, that sweet voice that knocks his heart against his rib cage.
" Hey Uraraka." His hand waves to her as he finishes placing on his bag.
" You seem down. Is something wrong?" Her hair swings slightly as she tilts her head, the question rolling off her tongue as she does so.
" No no, I just have to head home. Seems like there's some.. family problems? That I need to deal with." Saying that out loud, even he is confused, it just doesn't feel right to say.
" Oh. Well I hope everything is okay. Me and Iida are always here to talk if you need it" She holds up her thumbs in a supporting way, almost like she is cheering him on.
" Thank you. " And with that they all part away, heading in opposite sides of the hallway.

~Midoriya's Household~

" M-mom?" His voice rings in the open apartment air, hoping to see his mother come greet him with her loving hug. But it just seems quiet. His fingers let's the door swing back to its place, closing away the outside world, now painted in shades of purple as the stars hang above Japan, greeting everyone they see with their twinkling light.
Kicking off his shoes and swinging his bag to the side of the hall way, he searches around for his mother before hearing a soft laugh come from the living room. A wave of relief washes over him, Midoriya sighs before going in. Yet he freezes in the door way as his lips part ready to greet her.

Midoriya's pov
My thoughts seem more muddled than ever, trying to clear my mind I subconsciously wack that side of my head with the bottom of my palm. Instantly regretting it as it started slightly throbbing. Yet I don't dare look away from the figure that sits in front of my mom, my fingers rubbing my green hair to try to settle the pain.
" Hey Green Bean" The sound of that nickname strikes me as if it was blow from All Might himself. Her voice.. it seems so familiar.
" Do I..I know you?" Stuttering between my words I watch as she stands up from sitting on the floor.
" It's me Green Bean. (Y/n) " Now it all made sense. It all fits like jigsaw puzzle, my mind collecting its thoughts one by one.
" She's your cousin, Izuku." My mother sings happily as she gives her winning smile. My body relaxes as I open up my arms for a welcoming hug, now feeling the familiar presents of (Y/n).
How could I forget her.
I curse myself for forgetting someone I was really close to. Especially her. Small cold arms wrap around my chest as my own fall on her back. Yet I couldn't really blame myself since her -once family traditional- green hair was now dyed (h/c). Yet her eyes remained the same, keeping all their bright color of (e/c) gleaming with joy. My grip tightens around her body as I feel hers do the same.

" I missed you Green Bean" her lips mumble against my shoulder as I feel her smile spread widely.
" I missed you too" It wasn't a lie, since I did miss her daily once she stopped coming over as a kid, and when I got the news she moved away to America. I was hurt, but I distracted myself long enough to actually forget, focusing more on studying quirks and heroes. She moved away when were only little, around 6? 7? It's been so long.

" Come sit! (Y/n) was just talking about her life in America with your aunty " We part away as my mom smiles at us. I nod as I follow (Y/n) to sit down onto the floor in front of the small low coffee table, next to her. The table is full of small plates of sandwiches and sushi all neatly placed, yet supermarket made, I take a small sandwich as (Y/n) beings her tale again.

The long night is filled with laughter, jokes, and amusing tales. Taking turns to talk about the other's life. And soon the food slowly faded as we kept eating and chatting. It feels so good to have her back, I didn't really realize how much I actually missed her silly jokes and stories. After a while I even informed her about my place at UA, and told her all about my classmates and their quirks.

" Bakugo, huh?" Her eyes narrow at the name.
" Oh! He's calmed down a lot after this month, seriously!" I wave my hands frantically trying to calm her suspicions, I really don't want more trouble from him. And knowing her and her boldness she would try to kick his ass for me.
" Mmmmm well, he sounds like a challenge!" Her grin beams as she laughs loudly.

Some times passes by as if they were only seconds but in reality we have actually been talking for hours. It suddenly hits me, why was she here?
"Hey (Y/n) hope you don't mind me asking, but what made you come back after so long? Aren't you supposed to be in school at the moment?" It was true, we were all supposed to be a month into the new school year, the start of high school in the matter of fact.

" Oh right! Hahah, guess I never told you" she scratches the back of her head as she gives a nervous laugh." I'm actually requesting to go to UA, since I have come back to live in Japan with you guys. Aunty said it would be okay" Her eyes turn to my mom, referring to her. I couldn't really believe it, after all this time we got to reunite, and now this.

"Of course it would be okay! You're family!" We both scream with huge grins on our face in union. Which only makes us all laugh more.

" Have you talked with the school already?" (Y/N) nods her head with a slight happy hum. This is going to be amazing.

" I start on Monday actually." Since it's a Friday night, it means we have the whole weekend to set up her new room and also take her to visit town and around the city. I nod towards her to show I understand.

After a few more minutes of talking about the school and how she had talked with the headmaster and Mr. Aizawa, it seems like she will be settling in to my class.

~ The Saturday ~
After a few more huffs of deep breaths, I wipe my brow with my hand, it's only after a second do I realize it is covered in (F/c) paint.
"Damn it, well at least the room's done" I smile looking at the hard work the three of us had put in to make (Y/n)'s new room perfect.

I flop onto my bed and let my mind drift to sleep, letting my Saturday night come to a slow close.

Let's hope the first hello will be okay on Monday.
