"DREAM"

DREAM: a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep; Lorelei Black had somehow forgotten about the extremely real feeling dream she'd had about Regulus and Emery, she'd forgotten everything about his journals too, and that for the second time — she doesn't mean for it to happen, it just slips out of her mind when she gets too busy with her school work or there are other thoughts clouding her brain, especially with the pink toad she's been hard at study more than ever and she's had to stay out of trouble as much as she could because even if there's a slight chance that Umbridge might let her play Quidditch again — she's not going to ruin it.

Well, she says this and then goes ahead and insults Umbridge like she isn't already being tortured every other day with her, what can she say? Lorelei isn't much of a stick to her words person, besides Umbridge is total bitch.

Lorelei got back in her dorm room after a long day and walked inside the bathroom with a sigh, she took off her robes and got into the shower — she was hoping that her sleep draught worked this time because she'd bought some this time from an actual shop, she could only hope that she had been making some mistakes with the potion because if she wasn't — she didn't want to believe that her body had started getting too used to the sleeping potions and they'd stopped working on her for some reason.

Lorelei stepped out of the shower dressed in her Iron Man pj's and slipped into her bed after wishing Harleen who was studying some muggle book about psychology 'goodnight' with the aim of falling asleep, unfortunately for her even when all the lights in the castle had turned off — Lorelei's mind had not. It was wide awake and thinking, but that wasn't it — it seemed like the store bought potion had worked even worse than Lorelei's own potions, so she walked out of her dorm room on padded footsteps and up to the Ravenclaw tower's balcony in hopes of the sky calming her down.

Thankfully no one saw her and she'd successfully sneaked out once again, she sat down on one of the chairs, and grabbed the parchment that was sticking out of the wall — Rowena Ravenclaw had actually hidden a lot of stationary supplies inside the building, an endless amount, you just had to have the right mindset to find it and the will actually do something with it, kind of like Salazar's Chamber of Secrets, or Helga's Room of Requirement. She grabbed a quill from the statue that always had a funky hat and then dipped it in the ink from between the railing's peg and wooden floor, it had actually taken a lot of time for Lorelei to find these places, but it was all the more satisfying when she was done with it.

Lorelei thought for a minute and then started writing to both her mother and her uncle for they'd want to know why she'd been banned from Quidditch.

Dear Uncle Andrew,
It really wasn't my fault, well partly — you know that annoying b̶i̶t̶c̶h̶ witch Capella Malfoy, the one who's been bothering El and I for years along with Hope? Well, she started saying some nasty stuff about Mrs Weasley and I held myself and George back for as long as I could, but then it just stacked on top when she started saying vile s̶h̶i̶t̶ stuff about Mrs Potter, and that became the last string for me and I kind of snapped? Please handle it with Aunt Si if you get some letters from Umbitch, and prevent me from getting grounded for the rest of the eternity.
With love,
Your favorite niece.

Lorelei wrote almost the same letter to her mum, just changing the wording here and there and she then realized that now Freya wasn't there with them, and she'd have to wait for it to be day-time so she could go to the owlery and send the letter, she misses her owl. Lorelei sighed, she then went back inside her dorm to grab a book and a blanket and sneaked out to the previous spot once again, she wrapped the blanket around herself and opened up the book, it was a classic — Little Women, she'd probably read the same book over and over again instead of reading new books, but she didn't care for now Little Women would do.

LORELEI BLACK SET THE THIRD JOURNAL DOWN, and then was about to grab another when she realized that she shouldn't spend that much time reading about Regulus for she didn't want a repeat of what happened with her dream that day, she got up and put on her coat and remembered that it was actually snowing outside. Lorelei took a quick look at Harleen to see her asleep on her desk with her psychology book wide open, she shook her head before grabbing a blanket and throwing it over Harleen's shivering body and made her way out of the dorm room.

Lorelei had heard Hagrid was back, so that was a relief, though she wasn't look forward to encountering dangerous animals that much, she loved them — but some of them were downright disgusting and life-threatening, maybe she wouldn't be scared if they were a little cuter, like that little baby dragon the kids had to smuggle out of the Hogwarts, it could burn her but would look adorable doing it.

As soon as Lorelei stepped on the ground a snowball hit her in the face, she heard the sound of 'ooh' from different kids along with a sharp intake of air from an all too familiar person, she wiped the snow off her face to find George Weasley standing there with Fred, his face containing a very visible wincing expression. Lorelei smiled.

George backed away.

Lorelei used the wandless levitating charm her mother had taught her to float around fifteen already made snowballs from George's own stash to attack him as he ran around, Lorelei watched the scene unfold with a satisfied expression on her face, and only went closer to him when the force of the snowballs sent him down to the ground.

"Regret throwing that snowball at me yet, Weaselbee?" Lorelei spoke with a playful look on her face and her hands tucked away in her coat pockets, she noticed along with the usual freckles on George's face now his cheeks had a very rosy tint to them because of the snow — it was kind of cute, wait, what—

"Doesn't it look like I am?" George spoke in a defeated voice, too exhausted from all the snowballs laying on top of him to get up, and the fact that Lorelei and George started throwing more snow on top of his body didn't help, "Mind giving me a hand, Freddie?" he asked his twin who was about to help him up when he caught a glimpse of his girlfriend coming down to the grounds and practically sprinted there.

Lorelei and George shook their head simultaneously.

"Whipped" Lorelei and George said together, she held out her hand to the redhead who gave her a look — worried she was just baiting him in just to push him down again, but after some consideration he agreed—

Thwack.

—to get her back for the snowballs.

"I really should've seen that coming" Lorelei sighed, now about an inch or two deep in snow along with George who was chortling with his hands up to his stomach, Lorelei passed him a look, but then joined in on his laughter — what? It was really contagious, he does this weird hyena laugh this along with a couple snorts in between — it could make anyone laugh.

The Hogwarts ground at night still had the imprint of two bodies that looked fresh — one incredibly tall, and one relatively short, both of their hands joined together.

Lorelei had a good night's sleep that night.

...

"IMPEDIMENTA!" Lorelei exclaimed, and Neville froze in his place, Lorelei wanted to giggle at his horrified expression, not because she wanted to act cruel or something, but because he looked like he was taking a nap as she'd hit him with the curse right as he was blinking, when he unfroze El gave him some tips on the wrist movement and the kid did not disappoint — she'd stayed frozen for about a minute.

"Did you see that, El?" he spoke excitedly, "I froze you for over a minute!"

El passed him an encouraging smile, "Of course you did!" she said, "You're getting better and better with each class, bud!"

He beamed at her and soon they started practicing stunning spells and Lorelei took advantage of the situation often switching out Neville for George and acting like she hadn't done it on purpose and it seemed like Fred had caught on to Birdie doing the same and taken revenge soon after.

There was something about watching Neville who had been so insecure in the beginning of the sessions doing the spells so good that made Lorelei's heart swell — she felt like a proud mama, as weird that sounds for a seventeen year old to say that about a fifteen year old, that's how she felt, and she was sure that if Alice and Frank could see their son now — they'd be proud.

All Lorelei knew of the couple were from the albums Aunt Si and Uncle Andrew had at their house, but she could tell by just those pictures that they'd been very good people — Alice Longbottom for one couldn't be found without the heartwarming smile on her face, and Frank Longbottom couldn't be found without his wife that brought a smile on his face — Lorelei was sure Neville would appreciate a few pictures of his parents that his grandmother didn't have.

Hey, look at that — she's already got a Christmas present down.

On a more depressing note though, Regan had stopped coming to the meetings and cut everyone off, now she hangs around with some dude and they seem like good friends, so Lorelei guesses good for her — Lorelei didn't get why, she gets that Regan felt a bit hurt and all the other house things stacked up on top of each other and she just burst, but she should know that they weren't going to support a team that was yelling out 'Weasley is our king' in a satirical manner, as much as Lorelei wanted to keep her head free of any prejudice and hatred — some Slytherins, especially the pureblood ones weren't exactly rays of sunshine, they have issues and it gets hard from time to time to ignore them.

Lorelei, for her sake and her sister's, hopes that things aren't so sucky between them.
