"RESENTMENT"

RESENTMENT: bitterness; Lorelei Black was annoyed with everyone who talked about George and Fred, she couldn't give a single shit about whether what they did was heroic, or 'totally fantabulous' or whatnot, she doesn't care, simple as that. She doesn't care at all. Frankly, she didn't care about his stupid, soft, floppy red hair or his stupid chocolate brown eyes that had tiny specks of gold in them sometimes, she didn't care at all. She didn't care, she doesn't know why the girls are all fawning over George as if he was some sort of savior, their knight in shining armor, he's just a stupid teenage boy. Besides the chosen one is literally right there, why the hell were the twins getting more famous than the boy who lived?

Stupid, stupid boy.

"El, babe, you're hurting the fork" Harley said as she watched El bend the fork in half, she was concerned and her face showed that.

El broke out of her trance as she stared at the bent fork in hand, she then set it down, and stared down at the dinner — she had no intention of eating it.

Hope and Birdie came into the Great Hall giggling as both of them made their way to Lorelei, she raised their eyebrows at them, and both of them sat down — they didn't care for Umbridge at the moment, because she had something keeping him preoccupied at the moment.

"What did you two do?" Lorelei narrowed her eyes at them, Harley looked over too — she had gotten used to their antics, the blonde would often watch the two girls — Birdie and Hope — come to Lorelei giggling and happy, and leaving Lorelei looking distressed, she guesses the constant pranks that Birdie and Hope were pulling wasn't doing Lorelei any good in the stress factor — yeah, she knew about the sleep draughts, it's not like Lorelei is a good liar, not to mention she's terrible at hiding stuff.

"Ok, don't get mad" Birdie told her, and Hope nodded — Lorelei's shoulders sagged.

"Fine, just tell me" she sighed.

"We released a niffler into her office" Hope told her and the both of them fell into simultaneous laughter as the little creature tearing through their stuff came into their minds.

"Bloody hell, Birdie and Hope" Lorelei exclaimed, she was angry, alright, "Umbridge isn't an animal lover — do you have any idea what she might do to the poor thing? You escaped the consequence, but the niffler's now going to pay for what you two did!"

A look of realization dawned on their faces, "We didn't think about—" Birdie started.

"Of course you didn't think about what could happen! Why should you think when you can just act without a single thought, and then not care about the consequences?," Lorelei said scoldingly, "Because apparently no one gives a shit about school, or about what their actions might do to other people, but of course, I'm the selfish one here!"

Birdie and Hope looked speechless, Harley sipped her milk. What a day, am I right?

Hope was about to speak when Birdie put a hand on hers, stopping her as a small smile formed on her face, "We're sorry, El. We'll be more careful next time, and we're also sorry for being so reckless with our pranks"

Lorelei felt bad for the outburst, she sighed once again, "I'm sorry for yelling at you guys, I don't know where all that anger came from..."

"It's probably the stress from NEWTs" Hope told her, both of them once again had a stupid smile on their faces, Lorelei didn't pay any attention to it as she moved to go back to her dorm and study for her NEWTs.

"How long before you think she realizes?" Harleen asked the two, they turned to look at her — shock clear on their faces, "Oh, please, of course I know, I'm not blind..."

LORELEI BLACK WAS FINALLY DONE WITH HER NEWTS. It seemed like someone had finally taken this weight off her head and her back, she felt rather good as she got out of the Examination Hall, although that feeling of satisfaction was gone as soon as it came when she saw Birdie and Hope together outside the hospital wing, she made her way over to them.

She made her way over to them, "What's wrong?" she asked Birdie and Hope.

Birdie didn't answer, she looked too stressed, but Hope did it for her, "Harry fainted in the Examination Hall, and he just burst in here so Birdie's waiting for him to get out.

The Hospital Wing's doors opened once again, and Harry came out looking distressed, his green eyes full of worry, he also looked pale, but the worry vanished when he found his sister waiting there, he walked up to her.

"Are you alrig—" Birdie could barely speak before Harry interrupted her.

"Forget about me, Birdie, Sirius is in trouble — big trouble" He told her, and then looked at Lorelei who looked like she'd just seen a ghost, "I had a vision, the one like I had when I saw Mr. Weasley, we need to do something!"

"You're sure?" Birdie asked.

"Yes, I know what I saw, Birdie!" Harry exclaimed, "We have to help him before Voldemort gets to him"

"We have to make sure he's not home first, which I highly doubt he isn't" Hope tried to level with them, "Theres a million enchantments placed around The Grimmauld Place, Harry, and Sirius wouldn't willingly walk out of the house, I don't think he's really in trouble—"

"There's a floo network in Umbridge's office," Lorelei spoke up, she looked between the three, "Well have to sneak it, but uh, I can cause a distraction, you can talk to him, Harry, he'll probably answer faster if it's you."

Harry nodded, "I'll find Ron, and Hermione, they can help"

The four of them broke apart.

"HERE TO HELP OR HERE TO YELL?" asked Lorelei as Regan hurried over to her, she had a worried look on her face as she made her way over to her sister.

"Help, Harry told me what happened, are you ok?" she asked her sister, both of them standing in the corridor waiting for the signal from Hope and Birdie.

"That will matter on whether or not my father is safe at home, wouldn't it?" Lorelei asked her, and almost immediately she saw the two light orbs make their way to them, she reached inside her pocket and took a candy out, she handed the same to Regan too, "Bite it, and keep it in your mouth — do not swallow, it's gonna help with the smell" she said and then did the same.

Regan asked, "Smell?" but she immediately understood what Lorelei meant and bit the candy, and Merlin did it help because the two made it safely out of the hallway with the heavily smokey stink bomb that now clouded their view.

The two girls ran towards the hallway trying to find Umbridge, hoping to distract her — no one would suspect a thing since most kids in respect of George and Fred intended to keep the tradition of pranks going, and it would be the perfect way to take her away from her own office.

Right before they could make their way out of the hallway they saw a familiar face — Capella Malfoy, Lorelei had honestly forgotten about the blonde, and could you blame her? She had enough going on in her life.

"I'm sorry!" she yelled out before she grabbed her wand and pointed it at them, but Lorelei and Regan were prepared.

"Capella, back away, you do not want to be in front of me right now!" Lorelei exclaimed, she wasn't lying — she didn't know what she would do.

Before Lorelei could say something else someone reached out from behind Regan and grabbed her in a chokehold, Regan struggled to turn around because she didn't possess enough body strength, Lorelei felt something run through her blood as she watched her sister thrash around in the seventh year's hand, she forgot all about the wand in her hand and grabbed the boy's cloak pulling him down and kicking him right in the crotch, she then swiped her leg under his foot to make him kneel on the ground and kicked his chest, the boy lay on the ground groaning.

"Stay the fuck away from my sister!" Lorelei said, Capella watched them in horror, but before she could do something else she watched a pink blob make its way over to them, and the next thing she knew, she along with Birdie, Hope, Capella and Regan were making their way to her office.

Lorelei couldn't tell what it was but it felt like rage was coursing through her veins at this moment, she had never felt this sort of anger before which only made her bottle it up more because if Lorelei had acted on it she wasn't sure what she'd end up doing.

Birdie had a black eye and a broken nose, but Hope remained unscathed — her nose up in the air, and an aura of confidence surrounding her, she'd be damned if she let some woman with an ugly pink cardigan get the best of her, she'd seen worse, and she'd been through worse.

As soon as they reached her office Birdie screamed out, "Harry!" she said, as she watched the woman walk up to him and grab his neck, pulling it up to face her, Regan and Birdie both tried to reach out, but they were held back, Birdie was shaking with anger, but Lorelei remained quiet.

Oh, Merlin was this all a mistake?
