"RIOT"

RIOT: uproar; Almost every student at Hogwarts, no matter the house, blood status or views had decided to piss Umbridge off, Gryffindors were walking around doing everything in their power to enrage Umbridge — they weren't being subtle either, Slytherins chose to stay out of it, but not all — people like the Malfoys and Goyles were all sucking up to the pink toad, but the ones who weren't? They were every teachers nightmare, they would make snide remarks, often in an indirect way, use every inch of their being to plan pranks in a way they wouldn't get caught, Ravenclaws had found secret little spells to mess up with her clothes, her office, and sometimes her skin, that too without getting caught. Hufflepuffs, though — they were hard to tame, always getting in trouble and not even bothering to cover for themselves, it seemed like Umbridge brushing off the fact that one of them had died in the Triwizard Tournament pissed them off more than she'd anticipated.

Lorelei, Birdie and Hope were no different — the three of them seemed to come together everyday, even though Lorelei and Birdie were still on the rocks, they would sit in the Room Of Requirement, and create potions to put in Umbridge's tea when she wasn't in her office, or to throw in her hair by using non-verbal and wandless levitation charm — only Lorelei had been able to get it by far, but she was sure the others would catch on.

Though, the one thing the other two girls missed out on was the fact that Lorelei always seemed to hang back, she'd look around the room and find the ingredients for the sleeping draught, she'd decided it was too much of a hassle to go to Hogwarts every week and grab some, she was running out of them faster and faster everyday, seeming to lose track of how many she was consuming, though I'm sure if she just took a look under a bed — she'd know.

Regan Rosier as a prefect thought it to be her duty to keep the Professor uninformed about everything going on in the castle, the kids she caught during patrols were often let off the hook because, mostly when Malfoy was on the other side of the castle because the two cousins had decided they would rather split up than be miserable together.

"So, I'm thinking of doing a vomit-bomb kinda thing, like ya know kinda like a stink-bomb but it'll smell like a thousand year old puke" Lorelei said as she chewed on gummy owls and had a cup of coffee in her other hand, George Weasley watched her with amusement and concern at the same time.

"Oh my Merlin, that's great!" Birdie exclaimed, she jumped off the couch, almost kicking Fred who had his arm around her shoulders in the process, "Aw man, where's my notepad? I thought I brought it with me"

"It's with me!" Hope raised her hand from the armrest with a devilish grin on her face, "So, Birdie having fun in the kitchen, were you?" she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, and Birdie went red in the face, whereas Fred smiled broadly at that, she immediately rushed to Hope's side, and snatched the notebook away from her.

"What the fuck, Lupin?" Birdie said with a scoff, "To think I call you my best friend" she took her seat back at the couch with Fred at the Gryffindor common room.

On the other side as Lorelei was finally done with all the candy and coffee, she felt exhaustion hit her just as soon and she visibly deflated, sinking back into the couch, George noticed this and was going to ask her about it before he took a look at her right hand, "Hold on" he straightened up, "What's that on your hand?"

Lorelei absentmindedly raised her left hand, she almost forgot about the Umbridge incident that had left her right hand looking like something out of a horror movie, she put her right hand behind her back, "Nothing" she shrugged.

"Nice try" George said, he grabbed her right hand and Lorelei started to protest.

"Weasley, it's nothing— I—" Lorelei said, but she got interrupted as George ran his fingers over the wound, and a sharp intake of air left her mouth, he stared at it for a second before looking at Lorelei.

"Wanna tell me what that is?" questioned George, and by this time Birdie and Fred were both peering over to take a look at Lorelei's hand, and Hope had sit down on the floor.

"She did that to you too?" The raven-haired boy came forward, Harry's eyebrows were furrowed, "I thought she did that to just me because I'm her favorite"

"You're not that special, Harry" Regan said as she came into view, she jumped on the couch casually, "She apparently hates Blacks, and Harry Potter"

"No shit" George gave the scar one last look, "You ok, Bubbles?"

Lorelei passed him a small smile, "I'm fine, honestly, besides it's starting to heal now anyway"

"Mine isn't that bad" Harry spoke again, his brows were furrowed as if he was trying to figure out why Umbridge would do that to Lorelei especially, "How much time did you spend writing?"

"Around two hours?"

"That's fucked up" Birdie said, she rushed forward to grab Harry's hand, and she started to inspect it, "Why the fuck are you two telling me it just now?"

"Because you'd freak out?" Harry offered weakly.

Lorelei watched the two siblings bicker for a while, and the exhaustion was really hitting her, so she leaned back in the couch even more — she wasn't sure why the sleep potions weren't working like they were supposed to, she followed every step and did it well, but at night she would still allay awake with the thoughts clouding her mind. Slowly, as she looked around and saw her friends something in her brain calmed down, and her eyes finally shut.

George Weasley watched the brunette as she fell asleep, and her head took its place on his shoulder that he suddenly became very aware of the fact that she might wake up if he moved, so he didn't. He just sat there with Lorelei Black's head on his shoulders for what seemed like long until the only person left in the common room were him, Lorelei and Fred.

"You coming, Georgie?" Fred turned around from the stairs to look at his brother.

"I'm good" George shook his head, he then took another look at Lorelei's head on his shoulder — he wasn't stupid, he'd noticed that dark circles had started forming under her eyes, and she'd always have some sort of caffeinated drink or candy in her hands, or how she wouldn't laugh as hard, yell at him as loud, or even act like she usually does, so he didn't want to risk her losing the chance of getting a normal night's sleep that he was sure she'd been missing out on for days.

LORELEI BLACK WASN'T A BIG FAN OF DREAMS. As a kid, sure, she loved them, but she was just a kid back then, and she'd always get good dreams — never nightmares, not even when she'd spent hours watching horror movies that she definitely wasn't supposed to be watching with Regan, the two girls would take advantage of Andrew and Sirene being tired, sneaking downstairs and putting the movies on.

Regan was different though, she was more sensitive and she always had been — she felt pain at an unnatural amount sometimes, it could be about a kid, a puppy or even a character, it was weird, she thought.

Lorelei right now, though, would do anything to stop herself from dreaming, but she doesn't have the luxury being lucid in her dreams, and so suffer she did.

"Ric?" Lorelei stepped inside the Hufflepuff common room, she was right outside Cedric's dorm room, and she could tell because of the little Beatles poster on the door that Lorelei had given him on one Christmas, she knocked on the door, but under her knuckles the door opened wide. The room was dark, it didn't make sense because Cedric always kept the dorm bright, whether it be with windows or lanterns — even at night, the dorm had some source of light.

It didn't make sense.

Lorelei walked inside, and as soon as she did she felt a strange air surround her. Walking around was weird, it was almost like she was there, but it wasn't the room she knew — just some weird twisted memory of it. She felt her left leg hit something, flinching she stepped back a step or few.

Lorelei took out her wand, and a light soon came out of the tip, she kneeled down at the ground and used her wand as a torch to inspect the area where she'd hit something, and as soon as the light hit the floor, a gasp left Lorelei's mouth, and she stumbled backwards losing her balance and fell down.

It was Cedric, but it wasn't him.

His whole body was covered with scratches, and he was so pale that he was almost grey. She took hesitant steps forward, she couldn't stop herself from doing so, she reached out for his hair out of instinct, no not instinct, it was like she was in a trance. As soon as her hand met his hair that had matted, his eyes opened wide — there were no irises.

A choked sob escaped Lorelei's mouth, she couldn't move — she was petrified as she saw the boy she once loved laying on the ground looking so lifeless, he grabbed her hand pushing it away from his head, "Wake up, El" he'd said.

El couldn't, so she cried out, she tried to free her hands out of his grip, but she couldn't and she tried to scream, but she couldn't, "Wake up!"

"Wake up, Lorelei!" George said, he gently grabbed her shoulders — he'd never seen someone cry in their sleep before, so he was quite clueless on what to do, "El, wake up"

Lorelei's eyelids fluttered open, and she gasped, choking on her own spit. This was one of the most terrible ones she'd had in a while, "Bloody hell" George said as he rushed forward, he immediately grabbed a glass from the common room table and ran towards Lorelei muttering 'aguamenti' he handed her the water that she took and gulped down, "Bubbles..." George looked at her with his eyes filled with misery.

"I'm fine" Lorelei said and she walked out of the common room as soon as she could. When was it going to stop?
