"Who's Baekhyun?" Taehyung asked with curiosity, but after mere seconds of nobody seeming to answer his question, he noticed the tenseness of the situation. The air was thick with emotion, maybe negative emotion towards each other. Maybe Baekhyun was not someone Taehyung could trust. That warm feeling of remembrance radiating from Baekhyun soon faded to mere hatred. If Jin hated Baekhyun, then Taehyung must do the same.
Suga pulled Taehyung away and to the door, his shoulders slumped, as he was trying to keep what ever he was doing in private and away from any intrusions. Taehyung was quite tired of being dragged around and assumed to just roll with wherever he went, but he knew that now was not the time to fight for his justice. Even though it would be greatly appreciated if he got some justice sooner or later.
"What's happening?" Taehyung inquires, his wrist already starting to hurt from Suga's harsh grip on it, making his skin react to it unpleasantly. A red mark appearing underneath pale fingers. That was the least of his continuous troubles.
"Shut it. We have to get you back to Jeon. You are not safe here, and with what he told me earlier, I am clearly not allowed to get you hurt." Suga almost snapped, pushing Taehyung into the passenger seat before running to the other side and seating himself in the driver's seat. Taehyung liked Suga, he was becoming a favorite in the group that he had met. He liked how he was honest and real in the situations. One thing he did not like was how loyal he was to his leader. It seemed like the boy needed some fun every once in a while, and maybe he could give him some fun one day.
"What about the others?" Taehyung asks, playing with his sleeve nervously, he did not want to be yelled at by Suga again. He was having a pretty nice day up until right then. Suga seemed unfazed by the question, his fierce eyes on the road, although his slim figure struggled to seem fierce. His eyes could do the work for him.
As they drove away, multiple gun shots rung throughout the cool air, making the hairs on Taehyung's neck stand up.
"They are fine, trust me."
Suga took Taehyung back to their base, pushing through simple hallways and heading back to Jeon's room. He creaked open the door to see Jeon exactly where he was when they left. Like he did not even move a muscle.
"Why back so early?" Jeongguk inquired, turning around in his chair that had wheels on the bottom, the wheels turned and his body slung around, his strong demeanor very present.
"We ran into Baekhyun and his gang, I decided to bring V back so I wouldn't get my ass kicked by you." Suga chuckled, before pushing Taehyung into the room.
"Funny funny, but Suga. You don't touch my hostages. Okay?" Jeongguk gave a soft, small lopsided smile, before wrapping a protective arm around Taehyung, who seemed to flinch and stiffen. Those arms had probably crushed skulls or something. The only thing going through Taehyung's mind was how many ways Jeongguk could kill him with just his arms alone.
"Mhm, whatever you say Jeon." Suga gave some finger guns to his leader before hauling tail from the room, closing the door softly behind him so he did not cause a loud noise behind him.
Jeongguk unwrapped his arm from the boy's shoulder. He headed back to his desk, not before a gentle, deep voice called out. He let out a soft sigh, all the cheerful speech seeming to be an act for Suga's sake. As he went back to being lifeless and busy.
"Jeongguk."
"Mhm?"
Taehyung did not expect that type of reply. He expected to be yelled at for calling him by his real name, or something like that. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly in hopes of having a good enough question, enough to not waste Jeongguk's time. How much he hated wasting time.
"As much as I love watching you fumble with papers as I sit on your bed for hours, I am pretty deprived for fun." Taehyung admitted, wrapping his arms around himself in a comforting matter just in case, if his reply was vicious. Taehyung always found comfort in his own warmth.
"Come here."
"Really?"
"I did not stutter."
"Right."
Taehyung walked over, his hands shaking as he got closer and closer to Jeon. He never imagined himself here, being so friendly with the most dangerous person he knew.
"Tae, I've heard that you have some assumptions on me. What are they?" He says as he pats the place beside him. Taehyung quickly takes it, crossing his legs and sitting up straight, ready to answer.
"I-i just heard the basics, like you k-killing--"
Jeongguk took a finger and balanced it under Taehyung's chin, his eyes locking with the nervous boy. A grin grew on his lips as he watched him shake from being so close to him.
"Why are you so nervous? Please calm yourself, I have no weapons here Tae. I only kill people when they hurt things that are mine, or when they make me angry. You've seemed to avoid both of those things. Now, I can't talk to someone who can't maintain eye contact for three seconds. Please, focus your attention on talking. Not me."
"Okay sorry."
"Don't apologize to me. I never want those pretty lips to ever apologize-- you know what Tae. I'll explain a few things. If you couldn't tell, I've grown an attachment to you. Now, you could use this to your advantage or not. I don't mind." Jeongguk raised his hand to rest on Taehyung's cheek.
"Just know-- I don't expect anything from you, ever. Just be yourself. Okay. None of that lying shit. Clear?"
"Clear."
"Great, now on with the assumptions."
Taehyung gulped as he pulled away from Jeongguk's alluring touch. The tingles that shot up his spine when Jeongguk let their skin have contact made his cheeks heat up in a fiery red. He hoped Jungkook would not notice, he did of course. Taehyung was not used to the feeling and he really wanted this nice feeling interaction to finish and diminish.
"When I was in my other gang, I heard only bad things about you. Like you going on killing sprees just to ease a temptation, or just to help with anger. Killing with no reason whatsoever. Of course this made me fear you. I was born into the mafia, so it did not surprise me to hear of someone like you were portrayed, I just never thought I would be sitting right beside you." Taehyung said in a long string, mentally patting himself on the back for the lack of stuttering or fear in his voice. He laughed nervously, seeing Jeongguk's eyes soften.
"Well it is a dream come true to sit by the Jeon Jeongguk, now isn't it?" Jeongguk teased, turning back to finish his papers, his eyes locking on the words, his mind almost blocking out everything around him, but he wasn't blocking enough out to hear Taehyung murmur softly.
"It's not that bad."
He just smirked to himself.
