three

the two boys, having found each other on the path and figured out they live close to one another, were walking to school together.

and they did not forget to flirt almost constantly, taehyung walking into school with a very flushed face beside a grinning jeongguk.

now on the way to school, taehyung was running as he'd woken up a little late, and he saw a familiar set of bunny ears walking slowly in front of him, ears curled downwards. he stopped running, walking at the same slow pace just behind the boy.
"ggukie?" taehyung shouted, gaining the bunny's attention.
"taetae-hyung! you live around here?" jeongguk smiled despite being confused.
"yeah, i live just up the hill there," taehyung pointed towards the small hill littered with large houses.
"i live just there," jeongguk pointed to the house just off to the left.
"i might have to walk with you every morning from now." jeongguk winked.
"i'd like that," taehyung blushed, looking down. jungkook gently took the boy's chin in his hand as lifted it up, pressing a short and soft sweet kiss to taehyung's lips. the boy blushed, looking away quickly but carrying on the conversation.
"s-so you're wearing them today?" taehyung pointed to the ears.
"...they're still there? shit, i forgot to take them off!" jungkook started to freak out once he realised his mistake. he can't just carry them around the whole day and he doesn't have a locker!
"hyung, do you have a-" jungkook got cut off by taehyung shaking his head.
"i lost the key to my locker."
"does le—" taehyung cut him off again.
"you can only get lockers from third year onwards, why don't you just wear them? what's the worst that can happen?"

taehyung couldn't seem to get the image of jungkook out of his mind, how his ears perked up every time he heard his name being called, the way he smiled at taehyung with a glisten in his eyes, even the way he bounces slightly when he walks. those ears must be robotic, they're so cool..

jungkook felt the same. sitting at the back of the classroom in his lessons, he was too distracted by the thoughts of taehyung to even think about work.

soon came break and taehyung was walking through the main hall in hopes of finding his two friends; eunha and juri.
he turned the corner, on his way to the exit of the building, leading into the field, when he heard his name being whispered.
he looked around, unsure of where it came from, until he saw a small gathering of people shouting profanities at someone — jeongguk.
taehyung instantly ran over to help jeongguk, who by now was covered in cuts and bruises, tears streaking down his face, bunny ears on the floor with small spatters of blood on them.
"guys, stop! why the fuck are you doing this to the poor kid?" taehyung pushed himself in front of the bunny boy.
"they can't fight back, duh," some ugly dude remarked.
"isn't that a bit, pathetic? you're saying you won't fight someone who can fight back," taehyung snapped.
"i bet i can beat you to a pulp," taehyung wanted to punch this guy so much for hurting his jeongguk.
"try me," taehyung growled, punching the guy before he could even think about moving. the guy stumbled backwards, falling onto the floor before crawling away, leaving the others astonished.

"thankyou hyung, you didn't have to do that," jeongguk said, apologising yet again.
"yes I did. they were hurting my bunny," taehyung frowned.
"your bunny? i'm yours?" jeongguk couldn't couldn't help but comment on it.
"I-I uh..," taehyung stuttered, not knowing what to say.
"I know what you meant taetae-hyung, don't worry," taehyung still blushed at the authority in jeongguk's voice.
"ha, uh.. okay.."

"oi taehyung, introduce us to your new little friend. he's cute," taehyung's friend, park eunha, winked at the bunny.
"yeah, who is he? he seems quite different from you.." his other, quieter friend, kim juri stated, smiling sweetly at the new addition to the friendship group.
"hi, I'm jeon jeongguk and I'm new here, I moved a couple weeks ago," jeongguk smiled at the two girls.
"hi! i'm park eunha, i'm two years below taehyung but i'm— i know him— it's hard to explain," the girl, who is the same age as jeongguk, speaks loudly, slightly startling him.
"and hello, i'm kim juri, and uh, i'm the year below taehyung, i'm his sister and i'm dating park jimin; eunha's older brother,"
"oh, okay," jeongguk instantly understood how they all know each other.
"understand?" taehyung laughed.
"yeah," jeongguk smiled back.
for the rest of break, they were all getting to know each other. the girls took a liking to seeing the boys together, calling their flirting cute.

taehyung walked jeongguk to the next lesson he had, knowing that he would be late to his own lesson is a risk he was willing to take to make sure the bunny boy was safe. as taehyung went to kiss jeongguk's cheek, the boy turned, and they ended up kissing. not like either of them minded.
the kiss was short but sweet, both of them moving away after a couple of seconds. much like the one that morning.

"i'll see you at lunch, bunny boy," taehyung smirked, having had a sudden confidence boost, walking away from jeongguk and to his lesson, both boys blushing.
