A/N: This is a different take on the scene from Volume 2 Chapter 6 "Burning the Candle".

Blake had been overworking; he hardly eats, hardly sleeps, all he does is obsess over Ramona Torchwick's next step, and Yang has had enough of watching his friend run himself ragged. He tracks his teammate down to the library and grabs his attention with a lazer pointer...(cause that's totally not racist). Grabbing his wrist, Yang drags Blake to the nearest empty classroom. Here, the blonde gives the cat faunus a stern talking to, and a personal story regarding his birth father.

"Yang...I'm sorry that happened to you...and I understand what you're trying to tell me, but this is different. I'm not a child, and this isn't just a search for answers, I can't just...!" Blake said.

"I told you, I'm not telling you to stop. I haven't. To this day I still want to know what happened to my father and why he left me. But I will never let that search control me. We're going to find the answers we're looking for, Blake. But if we destroy ourselves in the process then what good are we?" Yang replied.

"You don't understand!" Blake grumbled.

"I'm the only one who can do this!" he declared.

"No, you don't understand!" Yang said angrily, eyes red.

"If Ramona Torchwick walked through that door, what would you do?!" he asked.

"I'd fight her!" Blake answered.

"You'd lose!" Yang said shoving Blake.

"I can stop her!" Blake replied pushing back.

"You can't even stop me!" Yang shouted pushing Blake harder.

He stumbles, but catches himself on the desk. Glaring at his friend, Blake quietly growls. Standing back up, he's instantly hit with a wave of dizziness and his knees buckle.

"Blake!" Yang gasped catching the faunus before he hits the ground.

"I don't feel so good...m-my head is spinning...all my limbs feel heavy." groaned Blake.

"Well, that's what happens when you don't take care of yourself." Yang sighed.

He scoops Blake into his arms and picks him up bridal-style. Blake grumbles and complains about being carried this way.

"Oh, shut up, if you tried to stand right now, you'd flat on your face." Yang said.

Once they get to their dorm room, Yang lays Blake onto his bed. Taking off Blake's hat, Yang brushes his bangs aside feeling his forehead.

"You got yourself a mild fever there, I'd think it's best if you sleep it off. And I mean actually sleep, don't just lay there with your nose in some dirty romance novel." Yang told Blake.

"I don't have any dirty romance novels." Blake argued.

"Oh, so Ninjas of Love, isn't a dirty romance novel?" Yang asked folding his arms.

Blake blushes and looks away. Yang chuckles then pulls the blanket over his best friend and tucks him in.

"But I'm serious, Blake. Please take care of yourself, slow down. I don't want to see you get sick." Yang said.

"Okay." Blake sighed folding his cat ears down.

"Haha, have I ever told you how cute your ears are?" Yang said scratching behind Blake's ears.

The dark-haired huntsman covers half his face with his blanket to hide his blush.

"I'm gonna go help Wyatt(Weiss) with the dance. If you're feeling well enough tomorrow and wanna come, I'll save you a dance." Yang said winking.

Blake smiles then curls up and falls asleep.
