"i'm so—i don't know what to do, jaem. i've always been able to make up my mind. i hate being indecisive, and now... i don't know what to do." juniper ranted into the phone, the fingers of her free hand gently massaging her forehead.

jaemin bit his lip, frustrated that she'd called instead of inviting him over. he couldn't comfort or touch her over the phone. "june, take a breath. you're going to give yourself a panic attack."

"shut up," she cried as she suddenly struggled to breathe. it was happening more and more, the crippling anxiety, and that alone scared the crap out of her.

"okay."

it was quiet for a few moments, and jaemin heard juniper sniffle on the other line before clearing her throat. "i didn't mean literally..." he smiled against the phone when she let out a soft laugh.

when a more comfortable quiet fell between the co-workers, jaemin shifted in his seat and softly asked, "you okay?"

juniper nodded before realizing he couldn't see her. "yeah," she took a breath, and really thought through her options.

she didn't know how she ended up in a position like this. when she was younger and got past her anxiety, she was always the one to approach those she was interested in. she became the outgoing one. having three people on her mind was too much, and it was wearing on her conscious. june wasn't going to let herself continue like this, not with her mental health in jeopardy.

jaemin was someone precious to her. if he'd been available when she was, there was no doubt in her mind that they'd be together. a power couple, of sorts. but he wasn't, and they weren't.

eric grew on her. she didn't notice his sweet affection before, only seeing him in the friendly light she loved the illuminate him in. it was different now. she was different.

jongho was... juniper could be herself around him. she could be herself around all three of them, but in the short amount of time they knew each other, jongho got her; he understood her. she liked to think she understood him as well.

"june?" she heard jaemin call through the phone, eliciting a hum from her. "just checking. you got quiet."

"sorry, i was thinking."

"about?"

juniper pondered for only a quick moment before sucking in a deep breath. "actually, can i talk to you later?"

"are you sure you're okay?" jaemin asked one final time.

"i'm okay. i know what i want to do now."
