PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER ANALYSIS:   Malia Kai is adventurous and bold. She does not like to break rules and she does her best to be rational. However, when it comes to injustice or occasionally inconvenience, she tends to break rules. She is quiet and collected on the outside, but on the inside, she is anything but. She has very strong emotions and opinions that she tends to let fester until it bursts out of her. Despite her rebellious nature, she a softie at heart and is not afraid to show it.

CHARACTER ARC:  Malia Kai was born an only child to middle-class parents in the Caribbean. Her mother was a writer and her father was a blacksmith. They were very protective of Malia. Malia always wanted to travel the seas and be a captain as well as a historian. She learned how to steer a ship at a young age and also studied history, but she eventually began to see them more as hobbies.
  She was always fascinated with history and with the tales of Jack Sparrow. She was also passionate about news and human rights. From a young age, she would publish stories under a pseudonym, causing an uproar in the Caribbeans and far among it. When she turned eighteen years old, she was found out and set out to sea to escape and to find Jack Sparrow, where she was met with both Jack and a nobleman named Henry Turner.
