PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER ANALYSIS: Luna Roberts is less confident than she used to be, but she always manages to stay positive and cheerful despite the odds. She is both an old soul and a modern girl. She loves learning about history just as much as she loves reading comic books. She can sometimes be hard to read, which she often uses to her advantage, though this sometimes makes her come off cold. She can also sometimes be manipulative, but never with ill intent. Ironically, she has a bright personality unlike her dark powers, but she is a mystery to others. She does not like to talk about herself or talk about her past, and her hatred for her parents is deep rooted enough to destroy her from the inside out. Deep down, she want humans and mutants to co-exist, but not until the people on the wrong side have faced consequences for their actions.

CHARACTER ARC: Luna Roberts came from a very socially accepting family who advocated for mutant rights. However, Luna was sheltered in many ways. As she got older, she became more and more eager to gain independence from her family, so she made friends with radical beliefs. When she was fifteen years old, she met Claire Williams, considering her a best friend. Claire was a fierce advocate against mutants because her father was a Purifier, so Luna grew to hate mutants. Little did she know that she was a mutant herself. When she was fourteen years old, she discovered her powers at school when she was trying to hide from a group of mean girls. She wished that she could be in the dark and unknowingly caused the sunlight to darken. She was turning the day into night. This happened in front of everyone, including Claire, who shunned Luna with the other mean girls. The school suspended Luna for using her powers in public and she was outed as a mutant nationally. She went to her parents seeking refuge, but they revealed their true colors. They were afraid of her and put her in a mutant mental hospital, thinking that it would help her.
  In that mental hospital, she befriended Rebecca Hoover, only to quickly realize that Rebecca was legitimately psychotic. When the Hellfire Club's Inner Circle rescued the mutants in the mental hospital, Rebecca purposely made sure that Luna was left behind, so Luna was later rescued by a boy named Wes and other mutants looking for shelter. She slowly grew feelings for Wes and the feelings were reciprocated, but before they could come to fruition, Wes's old flame Lauren came into the picture and things became complicated. Despite this, Lauren and Luna became friends. Eventually, Luna became a member of the Mutant Underground and came under the tutelage of Marcos Diaz, also known as Eclipse, who, ironically, could manipulate photons, and she grew to see him as an older brother.
  When Lorna Dane, also known as Polaris, left the Inner Circle with Andy Strucker, Luna befriended then both and even started to have feelings for Andy, who very much reciprocated her feelings, despite her situation with the late Rebecca.
