PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER ANALYSIS: Dalia Sultan acts young and old at different times. When it comes to serious matters, she is professional. When it comes to her personal life, she is emotional and immature. She is extremely passionate about human rights, which she is very levelheaded about, but she cannot stand injustice. Occasionally, this gets in the way of her better judgement and she will escalate situations unwittingly. She is, however, an excellent negotiator and good at staying calm under pressure.

CHARACTER ARC:  Dalia Sultan was born in Gaza, Palestine in the year 1917. Around this time, the British government gave Palestine away, leading Wafa and her family to be driven out of their country. Violence soon erupted and Wafa's father, Zayn, was murdered.
  Days later, Dalia and her mother, Hana, were rescued by a rogue Army soldier named Glen Monroe, who helped them travel to America as refugees, where he helped Dalia and Hana gain American citizenship.
  Hana and Glen fell in love, and though Dalia appreciated Glen, she felt as though he was replacing her father. When Hana and Glen got married ten years later, Dalia resented him.
  Dalia earned her American citizenship when she was seventeen years old and went to college at eighteen years old. She earned a degree in human rights law at twenty-one years old and passed the bar exam a month later. When she was twenty-three years old, she took Glen's human rights case. He was ill and had agreed to take part in a super soldier experiment thinking that it would help him live longer. He was unaware of the danger involved and wanted to back out of it.
  Wafa argued on Glen's behalf, but lost the case. Selflessly, Dalia volunteered for the experiment in lieu of Glen's participation and she was accepted, much to his devastation. Just a few days later, Dalia was injected with the serum and became a super soldier under the supervision of the American government. She quit her lawyer job because she had to train her body and slowly became a physical asset to the government without her full knowledge.
  During her time in the program, Wafa met a young man named Bucky Barnes, shortly after he and his old girlfriend, Connie, broke up. Dalia and Bucky gell in love and engaged in what would be considered an illicit affair by the American government, and were tragically separated when Bucky was captured by Hydra in the year 1944 (when he and Wafa were both twenty-eight years old). Devasted, Dalia resigned from the super soldier program and told her mother and stepfather what happened. Through her grief, she befriended and became close with Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, who was dealing with the grief of losing Bucky as well. In the year 1945, she and Steve ventured out to find Bucky themselves, but they were frozen after crashing into the arctic.
  In the year 2011, Dalia and Steve were pulled out of the ice alive and un-aged. Their aging process from that point was significantly slowed. They reunited and spent a year getting their bearings. They were both recruited by Nicholas J. Fury to join the Avengers a year later. She declined and instead to decided to renew her lawyer license and practice human rights law.  Unfortunately, she was declined to her controversial involvement with Bucky and the Super Soldier Program. She decided to take up Fury's offer and joined SHIELD as a human rights lawyer.
    In the year 2015, after a telekinetic enhanced messed with Bruce Banner's mind and caused the Hulk to lash out, Dalia used her influence as SHIELD's human rights lawyer to smooth things out, while also paying for the damage done by Hulk. She went to Sokovia with the Avengers and helped them train new recruits after the battle.
  The following year, a tragic accident was caused by one of the Avengers, leading the United Nations to propose more governmental control over the team. Steve trusted the Avengers' judgement, while Tony believed that government control was necessary, prompting a battle to break out between the team. Dalia took Steve's side. During this time period, Steve found Bucky, who was reunited with Wafa. Bucky was granted asylum in Wakanda, where Dalia occasionally visited him.
  Years later, a Titan named Thanos emerged and planned on stealing six infinity stones in order to wipe out half the universe. Ultimately, he succeeded. Bucky blipped, leaving Dalia devastated, and she spent the next five years trying to help Steve rebuild the Avengers.
  The Avengers time traveled to the year 2012 to receive the space stone. Tony Stark and Scott Lang's attempt to steal the Space Stone failed, allowing 2012-Loki to escape with it.  Wafa, Steve, and Tony traveled to Camp Lehigh in 1970, where Tony obtained an earlier version of the Space Stone and encountered his father, Howard. Steve stole Pym Particles from Hank Pym to return to the present and saw his lost love, Peggy Carter. During this time, Wafa also saw Bucky, but did not interact with him.
  Ultimately, the Avengers succeeded with sacrifices. Dalia and eventually Bucky got married, and she teamed up with him and Sam Wilson, the new Captain America.
