inside the loud cafeteria, jun was enjoying the attention he was receiving from students and even sent other girls some winks. as soon as his eyes laid towards a certain female taking up the table by the corner, he immediately went their.

either to annoy her, or to annoy the hell out of her. ❝how is the most beautiful human being on earth doing?❞

and he was definitely messing the wrong person. ❝i don't know, i also want to ask my papa about that.❞ she said, lifting her head up just to give him a bored expression. ❝he probably is fine, i hope? but then, i saw him get out of their room, limping, so i doubt if he's fine after that rough night with dad. dad got home looking stressed from work, papa might have volunteered as tribute to relieve that fatigue.❞

blinking in a surprised manner, jun had to lean back at the words which the female sprouted out so quick as if she was rapping. ❝i actually meant you, but go off, i guess?❞

heaving out a sigh, dahyun closed the book she was forcing herself to read for their literacy class. ❝i'm not falling for your flirtatious remarks.❞

wriggling his brows, jun leaned puckered his lips at the girl, thinking that he was attractive looking like that. ❝but you fell for me though?❞

dahyun scoffed, finding him shamelessly disgusting. ❝for all i know, it's you who fell for me.❞

❝so, what if i did like you? i'd love to see you smash your lips on mine.❞ and since he had a na in his blood, of course he'd be confident in saying that.

and since dahyun had a lee in her blood, she would be aggressive with her words. ❝really? because for me, i'd like to have my fist smashing your face.❞

letting out a gasp, jun went back to looking like flirting was his life. ❝feisty, i like it.❞

dahyun was already having enough at how this rebel twin was born just to annoy the life out of her— but we all know her heart is running a marathon right now. ❝jun, i swear to god—❞

❝guess who's getting married! ❞

both of them then flinched form their places, along with other unbothered students that's just sitting at a table around them. the two was in sync as they turned their heads to the side and saw a male that's having a bright smile on his face while raising his finger that had a ring on it.

for a second there, they almost believed that he was getting married. ❝nice couple ring you got there, jeffrey hyung bought it?❞

twenty's face then fell and squeezed himself right next to the girl who's about to blow up at how they were getting in her comfort zone. ❝that jerk, and i thought he was going to propose to me. i was already practicing my vows and was thinking of how i should walk down the aisle.❞

❝and here i thought that you'd be the same with minyoung.❞ dahyun clicked her tongue and pushed the half thai away from scooting close with her. ❝she's already engaged.❞

jun and twenty had their eyes widened at the news. ❝wait, she is!?❞

❝yeah, with one of the triplets. though, the wedding is planned once they are at a right age.❞ she explained, rolling her eyes at how dramatic the two were. ❝i was at the dinner last night as dad is managing one of the branch that's under uncle jae's company.❞

twenty furrowed his brows, ❝aren't they too young though?❞

❝they are, which is why it's just planned. none is officially confirmed, no papers were signed last night, so there is still a chance for the engagement to be stopped.❞ she told them, going back to her book. ❝which, i doubt it will happen. both parties had already agreed with it, minyoung and taehyun also looked like they'd be chill with the idea.❞

jun snorted after knowing whom the oldest kim will marry in the future. ❝jung taehyun? damn, don't they hate each other to the core? uncle jae once asked me to babysit them when they were kids and man did i see them almost slicing each other's throats. i could have also sworn that minyoung was about to push taehyun by the balcony.❞

❝she is one aggressive girl.❞ dahyun said, shivering at the memory of how little min almost shaved her head when she broke the iron man figurine. ❝anyways, why are you so bummed about your boyfriend not proposing to you? you two still have a long way ahead, and just appreciate how you guys lasted for a whole year without fighting.❞

the rebel twin nodded his head. ❝you're lucky that it's jeffrey hyung you are with, he is one patient man.❞

❝and twenty is a petty twink,❞ the female lee said, saying that casually as if she didn't just insult her friend. ❝a perfect pair, if you ask me.❞

❝i came here to ask advice because today is our anniversary,❞ twenty groaned. ❝not to be attacked like this.❞

❝is there any lie in our statements though?❞ and the half thai forgot that he was up against someone who loves to roast people no matter how innocent they are.

twenty turned to the rebel twin and hoped for his friend to side with him but that guy only sent heart eyes to the female lee. ❝alright, you guys are useless. i'm finding yanna, where is she?❞

just as that name was being mentioned, dahyun's eyes went somewhere and looked as if she was giving signals to someone. ❝i don't think she is still ready to see you.❞

❝come on, it has been a year already since i last fixed things with their family and mine. is she still mad at me for breaking up with her and taking her brother instead—❞ twenty didn't get to finish when the girl had cut him off.

❝twenty?❞

that familiar voice caused for the said male to turn his head towards that direction. ❝so, you are finally ready to talk to me?❞

❝i—❞ no, she isn't. 

and she doesn't know when she will be. sure, she had already accepted their relationship, she had also acted like there was nothing going on inside her head whenever they see both of them together, and she knows that twenty had apologized countless of times already, but there is something that's conflicting her and making her heart ache. maybe it's because of the thought that no matter how much she loves someone, she can and probably will never be enough for them.

biting her bottom lip, she took a step back. ❝i think i was called by principal moon, i'll be right back.❞

not even lasting a minute standing there, she immediately walked away and hoped that neither of them would catch up to her. and as much dahyun wanted to go and comfort her like what she usually do, it looked like she does need time to be alone. ❝see? twenty, stop pushing yourself to talk to her when—❞ she didn't even got to warn him when the half thai just went away without saying a word. 

❝he's going to talk to her, isn't he?❞ jun questioned, following his eyes at the male who pushed the cafeteria doors open and disappeared form their sights after.

❝that seems like it.❞ dahyun raised a brow at the male in front of her. ❝are we not going to stop him?❞

❝we can,❞ jun then smirked after having another idea in mind. ❝or, we can just stay here and continue our date, since it's just us two.❞

she can't believe it, yanna couldn't believe herself. so much for thinking that she finally had the courage to face twenty and talk to him even when her brother is not around. actually, she'd use every opportunity to ignore him. of course, subtly doing so as she wouldn't for her older brother to think that she is still butthurt at how at the end of the day, he still got what she once had.

❝no, don't be like this.❞ she scolded herself. ❝a whole damn year and i'm still having this in mind? i have issues.❞

it's not actually because of her brother's relationship with her ex, definitely not that. in fact, she actually had accepted it long ago, when twenty keeps on visiting them and hanging out in her brother's room. god knows what they are doing there, yanna didn't want to know. but all she was sure about is that she has come to her senses and finally came to a conclusion— that she moved on from twenty.

but the reason why she's like this is because of what happened between her and that one of a kind twin that's too much of a chicken to confess his feelings.

and that confused her up to this day, took her long to have it processed inside her head that's why she always looked out of it. ❝damn, i should probably turn around and apologize to twenty, yeah.❞

pausing her tracks by the hallways and turning around, she was then greeted by a fuming male that appeared from the corner. he had his fists clenched and eyes glaring at her, it suddenly made her want to run away and ignore him more— but she knew he deserved an explanation. 

which is why, she gathered the courage to not turn her back on him and gave him the most sweetest smile that she got from her papa. ❝sup, twenty—❞

but instead of giving her a chance to explain, the half thai went to take her arm and slam her on to the nearest wall. yanna groaned and sent him a knife with her eyes, struggling to yank her arm from his hold but failed to do so anyways.

❝what are you—❞ yanna let out a shriek when the male leaned closer, thinking that their lips might touch. ❝the fuck, dude? you have a boyfriend, it's my god damn brother, don't you dare kiss me!❞

but he then went pass by her lips to whisper on her ear. ❝oh, shut it, jin is watching.❞

blinking rapidly, yanna darted her eyes towards the end of the hallways and did see a four-eyed student standing there with his jaw dropped. ❝why is he there?❞

❝i don't know, probably wants to ask you out for lunch?❞ twenty then started shaking his head, that's not his purpose of wanting to talk to her. ❝look, i just want to ask what i did wrong? you're always out of it whenever i'm around, you're faking smiles when your brother is there, avoid me when it's just us, and we seem kind of distant ever since your brother and i got together.❞

but yanna's attention wasn't in the what the male was saying, it's at one of the twins that looked like he was fuming in jealousy.

and twenty noticed it, making him scoff. ❝are you listening? i just missed hanging out with you so much, seeing you laugh like there's no tomorrow, having you slap my arm whenever you're flustered, and—❞

as if they were getting revenge on one another, the female wong threw her arms over twenty's shoulders and pulled him close that from another point of view, it looked like their lips touch, which was yanna's purpose. ❝i'm not avoiding you because i hate you, neither do i not support your relationship with my brother. it's because of that one time when i had a sleepover at the twin's and something happened.❞

twenty had his mouth agape with a loud gasp. ❝are you following your brother's footsteps and went bargaining with jun in being your fuck buddy?❞

❝what? no! and the fuck, among everyone, i will never choose that bastard.❞ she despised that rebel's guts but just because he is her friend's undying crush, she is just holding herself back in from stabbing that flirtatious guy. ❝it's jin, and something happened while i was asleep.❞

not minding how dangerously close they were, twenty even had the guts to joke around. ❝does that nerd have a somnophilia kink or something?❞

yanna didn't hesitate to smack him by his chest. ❝you and your mind, it's too much for me.❞

a chuckle was heard from the half thai, relieved seeing that the two of them were back from how they were in the past. ❝but to make things clear, you are not mad at me? but that's a whole ass year, what could have make you look bothered for a whole year?❞

❝as i said, something happened.❞ yanna repeated, lifting her head slightly up to see curiosity in the male's eyes. ❝he confessed to me while i was asleep, that made my thoughts jumble up and i can't seem to move on from it. he confessed, yet, he didn't make a move? i was confused, does he like me or was he just practicing to confess someone and is using me for it? and i'm ignoring everyone, not just you, you're not that special.❞

as someone who is smart and has common sense like yanna, twenty didn't expect for her to be this dense. then again, even if he knows the answer, he knows not to meddle with other people's relationships. ❝not that special, huh? that's not what you said to me back when you were my girlfriend. anyways, that's jin for you, he is unpredictable—❞

❝and may i ask what the two of you are doing?❞

the both of them then stiffened from their position, knowing how uncomfortable it is but they were too afraid to move away from each other and see, obviously, who's the owner of the voice. it was deep and had jealousy laced in it, which twenty was lowkey enjoying watching the most calmest between the twins act that way.

but he valued his life more. "aight, yanna, i want you to let go of me."

and they were whispering at the person asking the question was near to them. "no way, he's right there."

"that's the point! i don't see him, but i can feel him choking the life out of him." then twenty pondered for a short while. "kinky, but i prefer your brother doing that to me."

she didn't know if the half thai planned it out, but that manage for her to push him away and slap his arm real loud. ❝leave, before i might snap your neck right in front of jin and be considered as an imposter.❞

twenty understood that reference very well, but didn't get the chance to acknowledge it as he could feel a deadly gaze piercing right through his innocent soul. ❝alright, it's time for me to clean the vents for you, i guess?❞

❝why were you with yanna?❞ the nerdy twin then asked, having a brow raised before turning to the female wong. ❝was he bothering you or something? maybe i can break one or two of his bones.❞

knowing that it can possibly happen, as this guy's strength is no joke, twenty moved away with a nervous smile. he'd like to live another day and see his boyfriend, thank you very much. ❝i'm just doing business with your girl, that's all.❞

he knows very well that the smart one wont admit it, but the way he was clenching his fists and gritting his teeth was way to obvious, and even to yanna who's been conflicted about her feelings so far.

❝anyways, i got to go. i need to skip classes and buy a present for jeffrey hyung.❞ seems like skipping classes was already his routine that neither of the two tried to stop him from doing so. and plus, not like they can convince him not to skip especially when he's skipping for his boyfriend.

oh, right, it's their anniversary today, yanna almost forgot. ❝twenty, gege told me that he can't pick you up later so if it's alright, can you go home alone?❞

twenty paused his tracks in the middle of running away from them, trying not to show a frown at how that guy was busy in their special day. or maybe, jeffrey just doesn't find anniversaries that irrelevant, and it'll just be twenty making an effort of it. ❝is he busy?❞

yanna puckered her lips as she remembered how tired her brother looked these past days. ❝maybe?❞

it's alright, he understood. he knew how busy that guy can get especially when he has already graduated. they had talked about it and twenty already promised to trust him all the time, and there's no reason for him not to. which is why, he just nodded his head even if deep inside he was slightly disappointed at how the older can't make time for him and at least for their special day. ❝okay, i'll get going, see ya!❞

but once turning his back at them, twenty couldn't help but frown.

or maybe, jeffrey just forgot about their special day?

he probably did. twenty went to the wong's residence, even met yanna again there and was greeted with a tight hug by little sushi, but not even his boyfriend's presence, he wasn't there. he only paid a visit to hang out a short while for their anniversary and maybe also give the present he bought for him.

but it seems like he was extremely busy that he hasn't even gotten home at this hour. the whole year hasn't been a rollercoaster ride for them, honestly. while jiro and chan kept on fighting and getting back together after a short while, the both of them actually haven't fought if he goes back to their memories together. twenty had no idea if it's because they understand each other too much, or he just fell in love with someone so soft and fragile that even if he did nothing wrong, he'll just apologize out of no where.

their relationship wasn't boring, though, twenty sulked at the fact that they can't do the deed anymore because jeffrey wanted to wait for the right time, but it has been so romantic all the way that he wondered when he'll be bored of it. probably never? they were too proud of their relationship and how ideally perfect it is that they aren't even afraid to show it off in front of their uncles and parents. twenty genuinely loved the outcome of everything.

they might have not started perfectly, but not like his parents did too.

sighing, twenty glanced down at the plastic bag he has been carrying around to give to jeffrey but it looks like he had to wait for another day for it. making a mental note, he chanted inside his head that he had to send another message to the older to be reassured that he's doing well. ❝i'm home!❞

and upon opening the front door to their house, he was greeted by darkness engulfing the living room.

❝hello?❞ and it seems like no one was home. well, he did get a call from his younger sister that she'll be staying at the ji's for the night. as for his parents, he had no idea where they went. ❝papa? daddy?❞

he didn't bother opening the lights to the living room and upstairs, not noticing the dim lights at the kitchen, and went on to checking inside his parents room to see if they are at it again. when the coast was clear, twenty got back down to the living room looking so lost.

❝did they,❞ but soon had a wide smile plastered on his face. ❝finally thought of their kids' privacy and went out to do it somewhere far away for us not to see? god damn, finally!❞

he looked so happy that he started jumping like a kid, but froze quickly as soon as he just realized that the lights from the kitchen were switched on. taking what's near to him, which was a pillow from the sofa, twenty slowly made his way to the kitchen with light steps. heart racing and already having his life flashed right in front of him, the smaller male was thinking that maybe it's some burglar who went inside upon knowing that no one could be possibly home.

gulping, he finally step foot inside and dropped the pillow he was once carrying.

❝hyung?❞

the large figure inside the kitchen that was placing desserts down the countertop then stiffened from it's place the moment that soft voice was heard. mumbling a silent curse word, the taller male turned around with an awkward smile, not wanting to seem suspicious. but who is he kidding, the surprise is already ruined. ❝t-twenty, you're home?❞

instead of answering him, the first thing that the half thai did was run towards his direction and pounced at him. lucky for the older's reflexes and his light weight, he was caught and now being carried up, clinging like a baby koala. ❝i thought i won't see you today! you didn't pick me up at school, we could have went out on a date. i went to visit your house, but you weren't there. i sent you thousands of messages and you didn't even reply to one of them. i was—❞

❝shh, i'm here.❞ pulling away and having their eyes meet, jeffrey showed an unsure smile. ❝surprise?❞

the frown on the youger's face then deepened, smacking his chest once to show his frustration. ❝i was bothered the whole day thinking that you forgot about our anniversary, that it might not be your thing celebrating it, and yanna also told me that you're too busy too meet up with me today!❞

❝she told you that?❞ well, he did ask for his sister to give out any reason as not to blow up the surprised for the night. actually, the only thing he did was go out to buy ingredients for the meals and desserts he'll be cooking for tonight and also had to ask permission to the suh family that he'll be planning a surprise here at the their house. what he didn't expect though was their privacy being respected, he thought they'll all be here to witness this. ❝i'm sorry, i was busy preparing this. i still am even in the middle of finishing the cake, but you arrived.❞

❝what the fuck, jeffrey?❞ twenty squirmed his body and finally had himself put down on the ground, looking up to lock gazes with the older and to let him know how serious he is with what he's going to say. ❝the greatest gift you can give to me is yourself, alright? i don't need surprises, just seeing you is enough.❞

the two of them had a staring contest for a good minute until the younger was the first one to blink and also notice how confused the taller look.

was it something he said? ❝what?❞

❝all i need to give to you is myself? i don't know if i should take that sexually, or romantically—❞ he then winced when he received a light punch by the arm. ❝hey! what was that for?❞

❝do you think i'm joking around?❞ he punched him again and again by the chest, releasing the frustration he felt for the whole day. ❝i was missing you extra for today, because of the thought of not seeing you!❞

❝i'm sorry, i really am. i couldn't think of a way that can make you think that i'm not preparing a surprise for you.❞ while the smaller male was venting at how upset he was, jeffrey tried composing him down by running a hand through his hair.

and it always does the trick. looking around and seeing everything that the older male was able to make, twenty then felt himself drooling at the mouth watering food being lined up. but then, he remembered that he also had something for him. ❝i bought you a hoodie! it might be a simple gift but i just thought that you might need one since i always steal yours—❞

jeffrey's chuckle cuts him off before he begins rambling on why he bought him with just a hoodie. ❝it's alright, that hoodie is perfect for the night.❞

with that statement, it gave twenty an urge to tease him about it. ❝oh, what are you planning for us to do aside from eating?❞

knowing the younger's antics and quickly catching up with it, he replied back with a smirk. ❝i don't know, i think we are still going to eat, but instead of inside the kitchen, the bedroom is available for us.❞

licking and biting his lips, twenty was purposely looking seductive to him. ❝you know, it's also a great idea for me to borrow your newly bought hoodie. i can wear it while we'll be eating inside my room.❞

❝damn,❞ that simple word sent shivers down to the smaller's spine as his voice was raspy while saying it. ❝you're giving me more ideas on what we can possibly do inside this house, alone.❞

❝right?❞ lifting his hands up and cupping his face, twenty leaned close that his warm breath was ghosting over the older's lips. ❝and while eating in my bedroom, do you know what else we can do?❞

he earned a slight shake of his head, indicating that he honestly didn't know.

❝watch disney movies.❞

and that was when jeffrey moved away from him, hearing a loud laugh coming from the younger who was enjoying how disappointed he looked with that answer. ❝what a tease, the moment was there already.❞

❝you could have seen your face!❞ twenty was still at it, pointing out at how confident the older was awhile ago but was now being a blushing mess right now. ❝hyung, i thought you were willing to wait for me to reach legality?❞

❝i am, but the conversation was stimulating that i thought something would happen.❞ the older said, clearly sulking because of that pout on his face.

❝see? even you are getting impatient.❞ twenty rolled his eyes, reminding him about those times that he'd always scold the younger for always tempting him with things.

❝one of the triplets told me, everyone has needs.❞ he then began defending himself, not really sure if it was valid enough. ❝and i do believe in that wise saying.❞

taking a cupcake that the taller male baked, twenty munched it in one go as he made his way to the doorway that separated the kitchen and the living room. ❝alright, i'll be up and change to my pajamas. i'll come back down here and help you carry the food up to my room.❞

❝okay, i'll continue with the cake.❞ just as the younger was about to take one step away, jeffrey said something that caused for him to stop. ❝i love you.❞

that also made twenty turn around and say, ❝happy anniversary.❞

he must have been feeling down the whole day, and jeffrey is glad that he had gotten to smile like that. ❝happy anniversary, buddy.❞

that nickname was was the cause of twenty's jaw dropping. ❝you did not just call me that. seriously, hyung, your boyfriend? a buddy, really.❞

❝i mean, we started it off that way, just wanted to remind you how problematic we were before.❞ he told him, walking close and stealthily putting icing on the younger's cheeks just for him to lick it before placing a soft peck on that very spot. ❝and how much we grew in just a span of a year.❞

❝you can't be all smart and sexy at the same time, that's illegal!❞

❝what are you saying? i just stated something philosophical.❞

❝and you kissed my cheeks while doing so.❞ twenty insisted, pouting at him. ❝you should have really waited for us to go to my bedroom. i don't want to cry here in the kitchen.❞

jeffrey let out a chuckle before finally settling a soft peck on the younger's lips. ❝alright you can go now.❞

the smaller male stood there for a short while, just admiring at how perfect he looked and how lucky he got a full package like this wong right here. some might say that he may not be that romantic as he can be awkward sometimes, which is half true, and he easily gets flustered with everything, but twenty find those traits of him very adorable. he didn't need someone masculine enough for him, someone dominant that can overpower him, someone bossy that can prove him his mistakes, and a perfectionist that can lead him to a successful path— he just needed jeffrey, and he wouldn't want to have it in any other way.

❝oh, and babe? take the hoodie you brought with you.❞ the older said as he moved away to go back to the cake he baked. ❝i liked the idea of you wearing it.❞

and he was starting to get bold at things like this, which twenty was still trying to adjust from. ❝i always steal your hoodies, don't be surprised that this will end up in my closet the next day.❞

❝and don't wear anything underneath, i am still up for eating inside your bedroom and you hitting that high note.❞

but sometimes, he is just too unpredictable.
