We Gotta Do Something: Part Two

Well part two is finally here. I know it's been a while since the first, but here we are. I hope you enjoy.

Despite Tchalla saying he wouldn't help get you and Bucky together, Shuri somehow convinced him to help her again. He shook his head as he walked around looking for you. He finally found you reading a book by one of the pools.

"Hey Tchalla. How was the date?" You sat up after placing your bookmark in its place.

"It went well. You were right. I just needed to be myself."

You nodded as you sat cross legged to face him. He seemed like he was thinking of something he needed to say. You decided to wait and see if he was going to say something before you spoke.

"You know what's funny? Nakia told me she wants to go on a double date. She seems to forget all our friends don't date." He awkwardly chucked a he looked down.

"Tchalla... You know me. I just... I don't care about that stuff. It's not for me." You rolled your eyes behind the cover of your sunglasses.

"Well can you go, and Nakia can set you up ... You can do it for your friends..." Tchalla smiled.

You laughed clutching your chest like your brother Steve would often do. Then you gave him a deadpan look. "You're hilarious. We're friends, yes. However, I'm not letting my first date be a blind date. I'd rather know the person before I go out with them."

Tchalla was shocked. He actually got you to say something about dating. "Really? I think I feel the same. Me and Nakia were friends for a long time before we began to date."

"Tchalla... Can we talk about something else. All you talk about lately is dating. It's really boring." You rolled your eyes.

"I'm sorry. I'm just excited about all this. I know you don't really care about it."

You smiled shaking your head. "It's okay Tchalla. I can tell how much you both care for each other. "

After Tchalla talked with you, he walked back to Shuri's lab. He was going to scare her, but she shocked him with one of her gadgets before he could do so.

"You know you can't scare me brother. Now how is the mission going?"

"Well, I've lead y/n a bit closer to the water. She admitted if she went on a date, she'd choose someone she already knew."

"Which is good because they've known each other since they were children. Speaking of you would think she might crush on him too since they've been friends so long." Shuri sighed as she began to clean up her work area.

Then Tchalla had an idea. "You should have a slumber party like you had when we were younger. You could invite y/n and Nakia."

She turned around and smiled at her brother, "For once you have a good idea. While we do that, you and Bucky can do guy stuff like go fishing."

The siblings agreed and they both headed off in different directions.

You were surprised when Shuri sent a group text to you and Nakia asking if you wanted to have a slumber party in her room. You packed a small bag of things and teleported over.

Shuri was glad that you even came. While she and Nakia waited for you, she told Nakia of her plan to get you and Bucky together. She also told her how Tchalla had been helping, and now Nakia wanted to help.

"Sorry I took so long. I brought snacks, movies, spa stuff, hair stuff, and yeah I got carried away. I haven't been to a slumber party in a long time." You bounced as you walked to one of the couches.

You all talked and had fun watching some of your favorite movies. Then you began to use the spa treatments.

"So do you both want to play a game of Truth and Dare?"

"I haven't been fishing in a long time. There aren't weird fish in this lake is there?" Bucky questioned as he put the bait on the hook.

"No... I don't think so. I haven't fished here in a long time so, we'll just have to find out."

They didn't talk much, and Tchalla was the first to finally catch a fish.

"I'm glad you caught a fish. Nothing has been biting my line." Bucky frowned.

"Well, maybe you'll catch your fish soon."

Bucky thought the way Tchalla said that was weird, but he shrugged as he looked out at the lake.

"So have you found any fish yet?" Tchalla asked.

"No. Clearly if I had, you'd be seeing me reel them in by now." Bucky grumbled.

"I meant like a girlfriend? You know because people say there are plenty of fish in the sea?"

Bucky rolled his eyes as he reeled in the line. "No. I haven't, and I really hope you haven't talked to Shuri. If I find out you're both trying to scheme in my non-existent love life I'm going to be a very mad and annoyed old man."

Tchalla decided he wasn't going to say anything else about you. When it came to convincing Bucky, Shuri was going to have to handle Bucky.

You decided to play truth or dare with the girls, and for the most part you chose dares because Shuri decided that when you choose truth you had to wear something that said if you were really telling the truth or lying. Thankfully the dares hadn't been to bad. You mainly had to prank call random numbers. You were glad the dares weren't bad because you really weren't a dare person in the first place. You all generally were bad at this game.

"So y/n truth or dare?"

You decided to go for truth. You slipped on the bracelet and looked to Nakia.

"Do you have a crush on anyone?" She laughed.

"Nope." You spoke. Your eyes went wide when the bracelet said you were lying.

"Oh who is it then?" Shuri immediately asked.

"Well. I guess I'll be honest. I really like Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Freddie Highmore, I like plenty of famous and fictional men. (You can change them, I just didn't want to list men that are in the MCU. That means I also didn't want to put characters in that we're played by any of those actors.)."

The girls frowned when the bracelet said I was telling the truth. "I meant do you have a crush on someone we know."

You shrugged, "Maybe you should've been more specific."

"Oh come on. Answer the question." Shuri spoke.

"No."

You couldn't help but look down when the bracelet said you were lying. The girls jumped up and ran to you.

"Now you have to tell us." Nakia smiled.

You sighed as you looked at the two of them. "Fine. I like"

Bucky and Tchalla had quit fishing because they hadn't caught anything since the the first fish. Tchalla had already let it go, and the two left in their separate ways.

Bucky felt so weird after the fishing trip. He couldn't stop thinking about you, and he wished he could stop. You never were interested in dating, not even before the war. It was probably for the best so you wouldn't end up giving Steve a heart attack.

He headed for his room and sat down on his bed. Still all his thoughts were on you. He wanted to see you, but it was getting late so he went to bed. He really hoped he wouldn't run into Shuri or Tchalla tomorrow.

"Bucky. Yup cliche, I like my best friend." You took the bracelet of before it could reveal the answer, and you put it on the table.

"Yeees. I knew it." Shuri laughed as she and Nakia took off their own bracelets.

Before you could hear them talk, you closed your eyes and went to sleep.

The next day you went back to your room and got changed into new clothes. You hoped you wouldn't run into anyone today. You headed off to the movie room bringing your own movies that you wanted to see on a big screen.

When you got there, you were surprised to see Bucky. He was looking at all the readily available movies picking them up, then putting them down.

After the sleep over, you were a bit nervous to see him. You were scared that Shuri had told him of your feelings, and you were about to leave if he hadn't seen you.

"Hey n/n." He mumbled.

You walked to him and took his hand leading him to one of the couches. You let go of his hand once you both sat down and took in a deep breath before looking back to Bucky.

"Why are my friends acting so weird lately? It seems like all the cat siblings can talk about is romance. I can't have one good conversation with them lately. Tchalla only asks about dating advice, and he knows I don't care. Shuri only talks about schoolgirl crushes, and now Nakia is following in her footsteps. I'm pretty sure at this rate I'd have a better conversation with Okoye. You're the only one who isn't being annoying."

"Well it seems like we have the same problem. Shuri bothers me to, and just yesterday Tchalla was asking if I found any fish in the sea."

You laughed as you stretched out on the couch and rubbed your temples. You really didn't want them to meddle in your love life, but it was exactly what they had been doing the past few weeks.

"You know what they're doing don't you?" Bucky finally whispered.

You opened your eyes to notice his puppy eyes on yours. You sat back up and moved a strand of his hair behind his ear. Before you could pull away, Bucky held onto your hand and leaned into your touch. He still kept his gaze on you. You couldn't help but feel your cheeks heat up.

"They're... They're trying to set us up aren't they?"

He pulled your hand off but still held it in both of his own. "I think you're right."

"How could I not notice sooner. I'm totally oblivious to all this romance stuff or whatever is is." You looked down wishing you would've stayed in your room today.

"Well how should you know? You don't do romance, and you've never dated. To be honest I didn't know what was happening until yesterday. I think you realize something is up when Tchalla gets involved." He chuckled causing you to look back at him and also laugh.

"You're right. I really should've seen that at the beginning."

Your laughing began to die down as you sighed. "I know I'm not uh... date savvy, but that doesn't mean I won't date. Well I mean I'll date if it's the right guy."

He rubbed his thumb over the top of your hand and smirked. "Who's the right guy?"

You laughed rolling your eyes, "You think it's you?"

His eyes went wide as he frowned, "Well yeah... I thought. I mean you're my right gal."

You blushed as you scooted closer to him. "I was just teasing. Of course you're my right guy. You always have been, but I just was never ready to have a relationship. I think I'm ready now."

You rested your head on his shoulder and moved his arm around your waist. You looked up to see Bucky smiling lovingly at you.

You returned his smile and lifted up the DVDs. "You want to have a movie marathon?"

"I'd love to doll."

You both enjoyed a day of marathons, and laughed when you heard Shuri squeal. "We did it Tchalla! We led them to the water."

"Finally. I don't have to help you scheme anymore. I'm relieved. Now let's walk on before they notice us."

"Finally. I think we'll finally have normal conversations with them now." You whispered only to hear Bucky snore.

"I can't carry you so, sweet dreams Buckybear."

You kissed his cheek, and he smiled in his sleep. It was then that you knew Tchalla and Shuri scheming wasn't bad after all.
