Super Mom (Part 9)

A/N: Yeah... I skipped a couple of months. Sorry. Hopefully you'll like this part. Next one will be about the birth so we'll see how Y/N and Bucky will handle all that. Also, I know I asked whether you want Bucky and Y/N getting married and whether you want the baby to be a boy or a girl, I'm going to write all that in the next part so you have to wait a while for the outcome. I'm sorry. Or am I...?

Warning(s): pregnancy and the chaos that comes a long with it. seriously, Y/N is a whiny little baby in this so... be ready for that

Angry, sad, frustrated, hungry, uncomfortable...

That's how you were feeling most of the time.

You were six months pregnant, three months away from having a new, small bundle of joy in your arms to take care of and you couldn't have expressed how much you wanted that to happen. You just wanted the pregnancy to be over.

This pregnancy was a lot harder than when you were pregnant with Caden. You were complaining all the time, you were snapping at Bucky and Caden here and there and even sulking at times. You turned into a baby yourself. You were always whining, begging and crying.

As much as Bucky hated how you were acting, he tried to act calm. You were pregnant with his child. You were allowed to act a little crazy especially if it was his super genes that were making you go through all that trouble. That's what he thought, anyway.

You were a real pain in the ass but he buried all his frustration and anger deep inside of him. He didn't want to make you any more upset than you already were.

He was walking on thin ice. He was afraid to do anything at all if there was a slight chance of you getting upset.

"James Buchanan Barnes!" Bucky heard you yell out from the bedroom. He sat up and turned his head towards the door to your bedroom and his eyes widened in fear. He stood up and he was about the rush to the front door but you got out of your bedroom before he could make it to the door. "You shrank my clothes when you put them in the wash!" You whined, looking down at the shirt that barely reached your baby bump.

Bucky eyed the shirt carefully, recognizing it from a long time ago. "Don't you have some maternity clothes that would fit you better?" He asked.

Your eyes started to water and Bucky's eyes widened once again. Your bottom lip started quivering and Bucky reached his hands out to you, "D-did I—"

"Are you calling me fat?" You asked as tears made their way to your cheeks.

Bucky furrowed his brows and thought back on what he said, not seeing how what he said implied he had called you fat.

Bucky let out a quiet groan as you started crying. He ran a hand over his forehead as you made your way to the kitchen. At first Bucky thought you were going to get something to eat but he frowned when he heard you throwing something in the trash. He walked over to the kitchen, seeing you throwing all your snacks in the trash while crying hysterically.

Bucky walked over to you and grabbed the bag of chips from you and placed it on the counter before he wrapped his arms around you from behind, resting his head on your shoulder while his hands found their way to your bump. "Listen, doll." Bucky started and kissed your cheek gently. "I, in no way, meant that you were fat by suggesting that you should just wear your maternity clothes." He started and you sniffled, your tears had stopped by now. "I just think they'll fit you better now that you have a human being growing inside you and it's showing."

Before you could gasp and start crying again Bucky continued, "I just think you'd be much comfortable wearing your maternity clothes. Also, who cares if your pregnancy is visible? You're still easily the most beautiful woman I have ever seen."

You smiled, turning around and wrapping your arms around his neck, giving his cheek a small peck before pulling him closer to you. "I'm sorry for freaking out." You apologized, still sniffling.

"It's okay." Bucky assured, running his hand soothingly over your back. "You've been very sensitive lately but you have a good reason for it. I think it's the super soldier gene." He said and pulled away, placing his hands on your shoulders.

Your eyes widened and your jaw dropped. "That's it!" You exclaimed. "This is all your fault!"

"What now?" Bucky asked in confusion.

"It's because of you that this baby is making me this way!"

"Y/N, don't be ridiculous. It's not—"

"And I just threw away my snacks." You said, looking in the trash and your eyes started tearing up again.

Bucky cursed under his breath as he started hearing your tiny sobs. He would have comforted you but he was so sick of you crying every few minutes because of the stupidest things.

"Y/N, we can still—" He started and reached his hand in the trash but you slapped it away.

"Don't be disgusting." You spat.

"Well, then we can go buy new ones." Bucky said as his frustration started becoming more audible.

"We just wasted money on these."

"Oh, my God!" Bucky yelled out. "I can't take this anymore! You're driving me absolutely insane."

"I'm driving you insane?" You asked, placing your hand over your chest as a sign of being offended. "What about you driving me insane?"

Bucky scoffed. "Everything I do drives you insane." He said and looked at you dead in the eye. "I understand that you're pregnant and you're a bit emotionally unstable at times but dear, God," he groaned again, "woman I am losing my mind over here!"

You sent him a glare before stomping out of the kitchen and storming into your bedroom. Bucky let out a sigh as he heard you slam the door closed.

He walked out of the kitchen himself and went over to the couch, sitting down on it while rubbing his temples.

He decided to give you some time to cool down before trying to talk to you again. He was just too exhausted with all your mood swings.

He turned his head towards you when he heard you come out of the room, fully dressed while you took your coat off the rack that was next to the front door. He shot up from his seat, rolling his eyes. "Where are you going now?"

You didn't answer, you just ignored him. You put on your shoes and tried to bend down to lace them but you couldn't. You let out another sob and threw your arms in the air in frustration.

Bucky shook his head and made his way over to you. You pulled away when you felt his hand on your arm but he grabbed it again. He pulled you closer to him, making you turn around. "Y/N, you need to stop overreacting." He said gently, letting you know he understood that it was hard for you being in the place you were.

"I know," you admitted, wiping away the tears on your cheeks. "I'm sorry for being a pain in the ass." You apologized with a small laugh.

"Hey, don't swear in front of the baby." Bucky said and placed his hands over your belly as if he was covering the baby's ears. His actions made you laugh even louder and Bucky smiled in victory. "Now how about we go pick Caden up?" He asked and you nodded. "We can go buy the store and buy some new snacks."

"Don't be ridiculous," you said while nudging his arm. "We'll just take them from the trash, some of them were in the bags and packages anyway."

"Whatever you say..." He muttered with a roll of his eyes.

You pulled away and sent him a glare. "I'm in a good mood," you started, "don't ruin it for me now."

Bucky wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you closer to him, kissing the side of your head. He helped you lace your shoes before you two left to pick up Caden from kindergarten.

***

Since you got pregnant, Bucky always had his hands on you whenever you were around other people. He had become very protective over you ever since he found out about the baby. It wasn't only you who he was protecting, it was also the baby.

You were waiting for Caden outside the kindergarten with the other parents while the kids got ready to leave inside. Bucky had his arm around you the whole time and whenever someone neared you, his grip tightened slightly before easing once the person walked away.

"Bucky." You said quietly as his grip on you softened. He let out a questioning hum, asking you what was on your mind. "Honey, nobody is going to hurt me or the baby so you don't need to squeeze me like a stress ball." You said and patted his chest, letting a smile take over your lips.

He shrugged, turning his attention to you while smiling. "I can't help it."

You rolled your eyes as his lips made contact with your cheek, giving you a small peck.

You saw the doors opening and kids running out of the building. You waited for Caden to show up which he did after a while, swinging his backpack over his shoulders. When he saw you and Bucky, he started running towards you. He ran straight to Bucky who lifted him up, hugging him while walking back towards the car. You looked at Bucky holding Caden in his arms and the want for your pregnancy to end became stronger. You couldn't hold your son properly because of the bump and that saddened you.

"How was your day?" You asked while opening the door to the back seat of your car, waiting for Caden to hop in.

He shrugged and sat on the car seat, trying to buckle himself up. "Oh, wait!" He exclaimed and grabbed his backpack from the seat next to him, opening it and taking a small rose made from paper. He handed it to you.

"Oh, thank you!" You said, taking the rose in hand, pretending to sniff it. "What's this for?"

"I'm sorry for making you mad." He apologized, making you frown.

Your features softened when you realized he probably meant what had happened earlier in the morning. You had yelled at him, you couldn't remember why but you knew it was a stupid reason to yell at your own son. It had something to do with food, you remembered that much.

"Oh, sweetie." You cooed and placed your hand on his cheek. "You don't have to apologize, I should be the one apologizing!" You said and sat on the edge of the car seat, wrapping your arm around the backrest. "See, mommy's going to be like this for a few more months." You tried to explain. "The baby is... messing with my emotions."

"It's not... hurting you, right?" Caden asked as his eyes widened.

"No! No, not at all." You said, patting his head, making him calm down. "My outbursts are completely out of my control, sometimes," you added the last word with a mumble, "so you shouldn't take it personally. Do you understand?"

Caden nodded, "It's hormones."

"How—," you started, giving him a confused look, "How did you know that?"

"I heard Ava's mom saying you're crazy and it's hormones's fault." He said. "Who is hormones?" He asked cluelessly.

Your hands balled up into fists and you turned around, looking around, "Where is that су́ка? I will kick her a—"

"Hey!" Bucky came to your side, silencing you and calming you before you went to search for the woman who made you mad. "Nobody is kicking any butts, alright?" He said as he turned your face towards him. "You shouldn't care about what she says. She is a bit of a су́ка." He whispers, laughing at the Russian word you had used in your angry state.

You couldn't help but laugh as well, realizing you had just cursed in Russian. Bucky did that when he was very frustrated, apparently it had rubbed off on you a bit.

"Our children are going to start cursing in Russian as well, aren't they?" You asked, laughing.

"Probably." Bucky sighed.

"Ah, дерьмо́."

Bucky laughed and turned to Caden, "None of the teachers or kids in your kindergarten are Russian, right?"

Caden shook his head. "No."

"So I guess it doesn't matter if he swears in Russian?" He asked which earned a playful punch from you.

"Let's just head home." You said, making sure Caden's seat was fastened before you closed the door and got in the car yourself.

***

You really couldn't wait to finally give birth to the baby and Bucky felt the same way. He just couldn't wait much longer to finally get to hold the baby in his arms.

Bucky was so excited about having a baby and he had grown fond of the little human growing inside of you. He was always talking to the baby when he found the time. Whenever you were lying on the couch while reading a book, watching TV or just scrolling through your phone, he sat down on the floor and just started talking to the baby. The baby would usually start kicking when hearing Bucky's voice. It was as if the baby knew who he was.

Right at the moment, you were lying on the couch, sleeping while Bucky sat on the floor. He had lifted your shirt up just a little, as if the baby could hear him better that way. "Hey," He whispered, careful not to wake you. "I've noticed, I think everyone has, that you've been making mommy act a bit crazy lately," he chuckled, knowing if you were awake, you'd be giving him the glare right at that moment. "So you better be cute as hell."

Bucky chuckled, shaking his head as he laid his hand on your stomach, running it up and down, "If you look anything like her, I'm sure you will be." He smiled as he turned to look up at your face. You were still sound asleep.

"Mommy, I'm hungry." Caden called out while he came out of his room. Bucky brought his finger over his lips as a sign for Caden to be quiet. Caden quieted down and made his way to the couch. He sat down on Bucky's lap and turned his head enough to look up and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Talking to the baby." Bucky said and Caden turned to look at your bare stomach. He leaned a bit closer and placed his small hands on your stomach, "Hey baby." He whispered, causing Bucky to smile even wider, wrapping his arms around the little boy. "I can't wait for you to come meet us." Caden said and rubbed the bump, making the baby kick. He let out a small gasp and turned to look at Bucky with his hands over his mouth, eye wide as ever. "The baby kicked." Caden said and looked back at the bump.

"See? The baby is excited to meet you too." Bucky whispered and a wide smile made its way on Caden's face.

"When is the baby coming?"

"In about three months."

"That's a long time." Caden sighed and laid his head on Bucky's shoulder.

"Yeah, that day can't come any sooner." You sighed and both, Bucky and Caden turned to look at you in surprise. "I woke up when the baby started kicking."

Caden turned his gaze to the ground. "Sorry." He said with a pout.

"Oh, honey! Don't be sorry." You laughed and reached out to touch his cheek, making him look up at you and flash you a wide grin that you loved so much. "That's just the baby communicating with us." You ruffled Caden's hair a little bit, making him laugh.

You continued to lie there while Caden and Bucky continued to talk to the baby. While Caden was in the middle of telling the baby one of his stories he had made up about you and Bucky saving the world with the other Avengers, you reached your hand to Bucky's and sent him a smile which he returned. You both looked at Caden who continued telling the story. Bucky sometimes gasped and asked further questions about the story.

You couldn't help but smile as you saw the two interacting with each other and the baby. You just knew, that after having the baby, you didn't have to worry about things changing too much. You three were already a family and both Caden and Bucky were already including your unborn child in it.

You really couldn't wait much longer for the pregnancy to be over.
