Napalm
Warning: Sexual Situations
Stevie got up early and made herself a cup of tea. She added honey and lemon as she saw fit. Her voice was hoarse from being in the road and giving it her all during her performances and she was glad she was getting a break. Stevie pulled on tights and a leotard, leg warmer and her old worn-in soft ballet slippers. She sat on the floor warming up. This was her quiet time. She had a couple people roaming around but they knew not to bother her. Robin was helping her rearrange the house a little as she grew bored easily. Another friend, Sara was probably still asleep, accustomed to sleeping even later than Stevie. She breathed in the serenity and went about her adagio with careful and meticulous focus. She watched her lines in the mirror, making sure all was right. She didn't have to look though, one can feel if it's correct in your body. The curve of a pointed toe and straight ankle feels much different than a sickled foot or a lax one. It would feel like a weighted dead fish and that's not what one would want for light, weightless steps. Her arms moved from rounded before her, her fingers connected to her heart by an invisible string, out to her side and then above her head. Smoothly, as not to cause a single ripple if done on water. There was no music, there was no need. She smiled to herself as she felt the natural progression of her practice come toward the end. She finished this portion, took a sip of her tea then continued on at the barre. She had installed it not long ago, feeling the need for practice at home. It calmed her, it eased her worries and doubts. All she could focus on was her simple yet precise movements. There was a knock at the door and she was shaken out of her dance-trance. She stepped carefully toward the door and opened it only slightly to see the person who had interrupted her.
"Yes, Robin?" she asked.
"I'm sorry but, um...Lindsey's here"
"What? Why?"
"I don't know. He has flowers though"
"What kind?" Stevie asks, as if that matters.
"Gorgeous pale pink roses." Robin says, her eyes becoming large and animated.
"I'm busy"
"I know but he says it's urgent"
"Fine" she says with a groan. "Give me a minute"
Robin nodded and turned to leave, nearly bumping into the curly haired man.
"I said I'd get her" she tells him, annoyed at his impatience.
"You were gone forever"
"I was not" she says and he backs down. Stevie's girls could be pretty scary sometimes.
"What was she doing?"
"She was at the barre"
"The bar? It's eleven in the morning"
"No, idiot. The barre" she says, demonstrating with a graceful arm movement. "Ballet"
"Got ya" he says, feeling foolish.
"Here she is" Robin announces, hearing her friend open the door.
"Hey" Lindsey said, finally coming face to face with the woman he was looking for. She was smaller than usual, only having on her slippers rather than her usual sky high platforms.
"Hey" she says, not sounding nearly as warm as he had.
"I'm sorry to bother you, I brought you these" he said, presenting the flowers to her. Robin was right, they were definitely gorgeous. Maybe the prettiest bouquet she had ever seen. The petals were pristine and vibrant even though the color was so light. They could have been painted and they took her breath away. She smiled, inhaling their scent:
"Thank you" Stevie says, feeling Lindsey staring at her and waiting for her to speak. She turns away suddenly and he follows closely behind.
"How are you?"
"I'm well, and yourself?"
"Fine" he says.
"What was so urgent?"
"I had to see you Stevie" he says and she waits for more. "I broke up with Carol and seeing you with...whoever...I can't take it anymore"
She stops dead in her tracks, turning back to him. "What are you trying to say?"
"I want to be with you. Only you. Don't you see we're meant to be?"
"We've discussed it. You got with her behind my back when you knew we were pretty much back together"
"You never said you wanted to be official"
"And you never said we weren't. I was stupid to assume anything"
"How can I fix this?"
"I don't know, Lindsey. I don't really want to talk about it right now. Thank you for the flowers. Let me call you tomorrow"
"Can't I stay just for a little bit?"
"Why? I'm not doing anything interesting"
"You're always interesting, Steph. No matter what you're doing."
She bites her lip to stop from smiling. "Fine, you can stay, but just for a while"
"Thank you"
"Would you like tea or coffee? I'm going to the kitchen anyway to put these in some water"
"Coffee sounds great" Lindsey says, following her once again.
She walks into her massive, beautiful kitchen and lays the flowers on the counter. She climbs onto the counter to grab a vase from the top shelf and he thinks she looks so cute. He's just staring at her when she comes back down. "What?" She asks.
"I love how little you are"
"No short jokes if you want to stay" she says, pointing a finger at him.
"Never!" He says, raising his hands in defense. "I would have gotten it for you, if you asked"
"I know" she says with a shrug. She goes to the sink and fills her vase with water, snips the stems of the roses with a pair of scissors and carefully arranges her flowers. When they are to her liking, she stands back to admire them, then places them on her kitchen table. "They really are beautiful."
"Not nearly as beautiful as you" he says, touching her face.
"Lindsey..."
"I'm sorry" he says, taking his hands off her.
"No, I mean...did you really break up with her?" Stevie asked, biting her lip.
"Yeah, I did"
"Was she mad?"
"No, she was fine. Took it really well" he said sarcastically and Stevie giggled.
"Good" she said under her breath.
"Excuse me, what?" he teased. "Did I hear a little jealousy in your voice?"
"Nope"
"Are you sure?"
"I don't think it's a secret that I didn't like her."
"No it's definitely not." He chuckles. "That's why I stayed"
She swatted at him. "You're such a jerk!" She was so cute in her ballet garb and watching her laugh and flirt...it drove him wild. He decided to take his chance. He could totally get shot down but life is short.
"That's it." He says, done with taking her playful punches. He scoops her up and takes her back to the room she came out of originally. She's giggling like mad and squeaking as he kicks the door open.
"Linds, put me down!"
"Why should I?"
"What are you going to do with me?" She asks, her chest heaving and her tone seductive.
"What do you want me to do?"
"You're a free man, you decide"
"Oh, Stevie, I don't think you know what you're getting yourself into"
"You know that I can't stay mad at you. Did you miss me?"
"So much" he says, kissing her neck. She turns her head to give him better access and he continues down to her chest. "Rock and roll ballerina" he says, pulling her leotard down and exposing more o her chest. "You are so full of surprises"
"I'd rather be full of you" she says and he looks at her, panting.
"I have never heard you talk like that before"
"Well now you have"
"You're sure?"
"Yes, please make love to me, Lindsey" That was all he needed to strip off all of her clothes. She worked quickly at freeing him of his own, kissing all over his body. He guided her face back up to his and kissed her lips with so much emotion it made them both cry. Their tears mingles as their bodies did and they made love with a long lost fervor. Time meant nothing as they shared all of the feelings neither could express with words alone. They felt the sadness, the anguish, the loneliness, the joy. Everything that had torn them apart, everything that brought them together was brought to the forefront and they crashed straight on through it all. His fingers danced over his lithe-bodied lover, the electricity in her skin making the building release that much sweeter at its peak. She moans his name repeatedly, running her fingers through his short curls. He is easily able to climax with her, groaning, moaning and touching her body in a way she had never known before. Napalm, as they rose once again to crescendo. They clung to each other, bare chest to bare chest. She places sloppy kisses over his chest, allowing their breathing to stabilize. Laying in the afterglow, Lindsey pulled a cigarette and a lighter out of his jeans pocket.
"Wow" she says, catching her breath.
"Wanna share?" He asks and she nods, cuddling up to him, naked on the floor of her makeshift studio.
"What are we doing?" She asks.
"We're together, right now and maybe forever, if you want"
"I do want"
"Okay then"
"Was this our official agreement? Our contract?"
"If it was, I think there was a mistake on page two" he smirks.
"Oh yeah? Well then we have to do it all over again."
"Really? I think I can do that"
"Can you?"
"Definitely" He sits his cigarette down and climbs back on top of her. "I love you"
"I love you too, baby. Now, where were we?"
"Mmmm....right....here" he says, lowering himself further into a push up position and engaging in a deep kiss.
"Oh that's right" she says, smiling.
