hello, camp moosehead! part one.

"You're gonna get married?!" I exclaimed to my mom sitting at the kitchen table.

"Yes! Isn't it something? I'm so happy!" My mom exclaimed, drinking her berry smoothie.

"I-I-I'm happy! So happy! I love Ginny, but don't you think you're rushing this a little bit? I mean, you made me skip Camp Moosehead to go dress shopping." I pointed out.

"Well, we're getting married in December..." She whispered.

"The...third of December?" I asked.

My mom nodded, having a cheeky smile on her face.

"Really?! After your favorite song?" I laughed.

"Heather is an exclusive song that I love, Bubbles! It's sad, but it's..."

"Sad." I confirmed.

My mom nodded.

I sighed.

"I seriously don't care that you're getting married." I started.

"You don't care?" My mom asked.

"NO! No, no, no, no! I really care about the wedding and that you're gonna be wives and stuff, a-a-and I don't mind! But, you're getting into this super fast!" I defended.

"Maybe...but I don't...LIKE weddings. Planning them is stressful, and Ginny and I just wanna get married." My mom explained.

"Then go to a courthouse right now!" I laughed.

My mom thought for a second.

"NOT ACTUALLY! I'm joking! I wanna see this wedding." I interrupted.

"Okay, cool." She sighed.

"So, we're going dress shopping?" I asked.

"I'm not! Oh no." My mom laughed.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

"We're going bridesmaid shopping." She whispered, putting my hair behind my ear.

My eyes widened.

"I'm gonna be a bridesmaid?"

She laughed and nodded.

"Yes! You are! Also, there's gonna be absolutely no groomsmen! Because, you know, kill all men." My mom whispered.

"Not all men, mom!"

She laughed.

"Louise is gonna be our flower girl, and we already got her dress, your cousin Amaya is gonna be next to you, and Ginny's three nieces are gonna be the other two bridesmaids and ring...bear."

"You mean bearer?" I corrected.

"No. She calls it ring bear." My mom laughed.

I laughed with her, and became excited about this super, quick wedding happening.

Louise, Ginny, my mom and I walked into a dress store.

"Oh! Hello, Ginny!" A blonde girl greeted her, shaking her hand.

"Hey, Paris! Guys, this is my friend, Paris. We've been friends since kindergarten, and she's gonna help these little girls to find a dress they like!" Ginny introduced.

I waved to the blonde, and Louise held onto my hand.

"Well, we're gonna find you the most perfect dresses! What color were you thinking?" Paris asked my mom.

"Maybe a baby blue? Pastel blue? White? Kinda winterish. We're getting married in December." My mom smiled.

"Awesome! I'll find some dresses for the two! You can head into room two." Paris directed us, pointing to a door with the number two and flowers painted around it.

The four of us walked into the room, which had a fancy couch and a long curtain for changing.

Louise immediately flopped onto the couch, and my mom followed her.

Ginny laughed at the two and followed.

"Okay, here are some of our most popular dresses in our winter theme, you can try them on and tell us what you think!" Paris smiled, setting about three dresses onto the hook.

"There's only three?" My mom laughed.

"We aren't ready for winter yet, and these are the only ones in her size. But! They're so so so cheap!" Paris explained.

"Alright! Thanks, Paris!" Ginny smiled.

Paris smiled and closed the door.

"Okay, Leah, you're gonna try on all of these, okay?" My mom explained.

"Oh no~" I groaned.

"What's wrong?" Ginny asked.

"I'm not gonna be able to choose. Get comfy. We're gonna be here a while." I cringed, as Louise laughed at me.

"Come on, it can't be that hard." My mom scoffed.

"Well, how hard was it for you to pick out a wedding dress, mom?" I asked.

"About forty minutes." My mom said, narrowing her eyes in a silly manner.

"Do you still have it?" Ginny asked.

My mom sighed.

"No. I had to sell it. It just sat in my closet. When Ryan died, it was too painful to look at, so I sold it to a friend." My mom explained.

"Aww." Ginny whispered sadly.

"Do NOT give me sympathy." My mom said sternly, holding up a finger to Ginny's mouth.

••••

"Dress one!" I laughed in the curtains.

I pulled back the curtains to reveal the dress.

"Ehh~" Ginny cringed.

"Me too." I agreed.

"It's...Its okay! But not for-not for a wedding." My mom stuttered.

I nodded and smiled.

"It looks like you don't have a shirt on." Louise sneered with a sour face.

My mom and Ginny burst out laughing, while I blushed and went behind the curtains.

"Sam would like that!" Ginny teased.

"Shut up!" I groaned.

••••

"Dress two!" I announced.

I pulled back the curtains and had a weird look on my face.

"Oh wait, I kinda like it." Ginny whispered.

"I would like it better if it didn't hav the..." my mom signaled to the v neck...lacy thing.

"Me too." Ginny agreed.

"It kinda looks like the dress you wore to Lizzy's wedding." Louise pointed out, leaning upside down on the couch.

"Poofy sleeves! Poofy sleeves!" Ginny laughed, pointing at me.

I rolled my eyes at her playfully.

"I'm not getting this one." I laughed.

••••

"Okay! Final dress!" I announced, "I really have hope in this one."

"I bet it looks like trash." Louise scoffed.

I pulled back the curtains and smiled.

"I like it." Louise said, like she was in a day-dream.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Ginny said, clapping her hands, "This is the one, Lola! We're getting this!"

My mom nodded and laughed.

"I really like it. It suits you."

I smiled and nodded.

"I really like it too." I whispered, looking at myself in the mirror.

••••

The four of us walked out of the dress shop.

"Nice! Got that done! Let's go home and order pizza!" My mom cheered, picking up Louise as the little girl giggled.

Ginny laughed and kept the dress off the ground.

"You know what, Ginny?" I said.

The woman looked over at me.

"I'm really happy you're marrying Lola."

Ginny smiled and ruffled my hair.

"I'm so happy that you're happy."

Ginny gasped.

"OH MY GOSH! YOU CAN SO HANG OUT WITH SAM RIGHT NOW! THE CLUB ISN'T HERE!"

"Ginny, stop!" I groaned, as the woman skipped to the car.
