Two
Today's night was a calm, dark, blue that soothed her. The moon shined yellow and she surrounded herself with blankets that felt as if she were being hugged. How she entered this place? She had no idea. But it was her world and she did not want to leave it.
She huddled into the warm embrace, memory flickering through faces. Smiles that once told her of love now felt cold. She did not close her eyes for she feared, if she did, she would lose all the colors of her world.
This place was much more beautiful than the other.
This place was prettier and cleaner than the other.
Here, there were no eyes to see her nor any voices that spilled into her ears trying to convince her of her reality.
"Here. . .the world is purple and pink and all the colors of the rainbow. . .bright as it should be."
Life was not heavy in this colorful land as everything popped like bubblegum.
Yet, when she looked, grays walked the golden road like parasites upon her paradise. Grays with no colors. Grays who could not decide. Grays a section of the world that was cold and unknown.
Take care of them. Don't let them separate us. Don't let them. . .
"Life's got to be colorful." She mouthed.
She held her chainsaw tightly.
It was an invasion upon her world.
They wanted in.
Allowing them in was allowing that in.
It couldn't be.
"I'll pop you all red."
