melissa was nervous,her feelings for nixxiom must have been obvious by now.she was super obvious,must have been.

melissa was sitting in the break room,waiting for nixxiom to show up to go to the recording studio.

it was warm and crisp,but the small dose of cool air that brushed against her feathers helped her keep cool.

nixxiom came in a dark gray turtle neck and gray sweatpants.he looked great when he wasnt in his..armour.

melissa caught herself staring at him as he caught his breath.he must have been running,or jogging.

melissa leaned against the fridge and stared lovingly.Wow he was so..handsome in a turtleneck.He needed to wear turtlenecks more.

nixxiom grabbed his coffee off the counter and sipped it quick."hey missy",he said softly,turning around to her and smiling softly."ready?"

it was his secret nickname to her.nobody really knew about it,dolan might have heard it once.

her heart fluttered,"sure...",she blushed and walked into the recording studio with him.

nixxiom blushed softly and smiled as he saw melissa set up the studio.He gave her cheek a quick kiss."what was that about?"

"just wanted to say good luck,missy"

"well,you certainly did.",melissa smiled softly and tested the recording equipment.

nixxiom sat beside her,letting her test the mics before handing his script to him with a soft wink.nixxiom blushed  softly."just wanted to say good luck",she smiled.

the two looked over their scripts one last time,discussing,before voicing the video for the super planet dolan channel.

soon,the video was done,and nixxiom smiled."i guess my good luck wishes to you paid off,babe,you were great"

babe...?

melissa smiled softly,he called her babe,and he meant it.

"thanks hun,you too.",melissa replied swiftly with a shy smile,getting her things together.

nixxiom grinned softly,and gave her a quick peck to the cheek."coffee later?"

"sure.",melissa said calmly,but inside she was super giddy.did he just ask her out?

nixxiom blushed deeply."great..next week?"

melissa smiled,gathered the courage,and pressed her beak to his lower cheek as if a kiss.

he grinned,"see ya later,missy",he said,grinning goofily.

he walked out the recording room and melissa stood there,smiling and blushing madly.

a week later,nixxiom stood at the doorway to the office building waiting for melissa nervously.

"hey nix",a soft,cute small voice behind him chimed up."oh hey missy"

"ready to go?"

"sure",nixxiom smiled,got his keys out of his pocket and the two got out to his car.

nobody really noticed them walk out together,or so they thought.

dolan smirked as he saw the two go out to his car.the two were doing small talk when they first got into the car.

nixxiom blushed softly and started up the car.melissa leaned back in her seat.melissa was blushing madly,she never expected this to happen between them.

they were going on a date.

that was shocking to melissa,it also made her happy inside.she felt a hand hold hers.nixxiom seemed super shy,blushing and trying not to seem too timid.

melissa thought it was cute.

soon,they were at the cafe and got out.melissa and nixxiom walked in together,hand in hand with their fingers intertwined.

nixxiom ordered for the two of them and they were shown to a table.

nixxiom suddenly felt shy,and nervous.he felt as if he should attempt to make small talk,"so,like horror?"

melissa scrunched her beak,"freaks me out"nixxiom laughed softly,"okay,okay.so what are you into?"

"i like documentaries"

nixxiom snorted,"nerd."

"shut up!",she playfully hit his arm and he laughed softly.melissa giggled,"what is your favorite song?"

"i don't know,if im honest.what about you?",melissa looked up at him.

"i like rock",he shrugged.

soon they got their coffee and nixxiom thanked the waitress.melissa blushed softly,"what's your..ideal date?"

"is this 20 questions?",nixxiom retorted gently.

"oh please nixxiom,what's your ideal date?"

"hmm...i like going to the library,so...reading date?"

"what's your favorite book?",melissa eyes lit up upon hearing the word 'reading'.nixxiom thought for a minute,"i like the percy jackson series."

"ooh,percy jackson?i personally like the harry potter books.",melissa shrugged."that's a pretty generic book series,isnt it?",nixxiom said gently."i guess so.",melissa smiled softly and shrugged,"but i like it,isnt percy jackson abit generic too?"

"yeah,yeah",nixxiom rolled his eyes playfully and took a sip from his coffee.

"percy jackson is good though.you cant blame me.i also like this stephen king books"

"that's cool,i've only read the shining",melissa sighed softly.

"i love his one book,its called the outsider,it has this detective trying to figure out the case behind a kid who was...yknow,without consent,with a stick"

"oh ew",melissa's beak scrunches,"that sounds gross"

"it kinda is,there is also this book called needful things,about this shop owner who moves into this small town,the shop owner is secretly the devil,and that's obvious,and he is trying to corrupt everyone in the town.",nixxiom explained,he was clearly full of passion.

melissa loved listening to him speak,he was interesting to listen to and he always had something interesting to say when it came from his heart.

nixxiom smiled softly,"so tell me about harry potter-",he sipped from his coffee,"what's that series like?"

she took a long sip from her coffee,she looked up at him before soeaking,"well the first book is about this kid named harry,who is super neglected by his family since his parents died and he lives in the room under the steps and his aunt and uncle are like-abusive to him and he goes to this school called hogwarts and meets the two other students on the train there, hermione and ron.and they are placed into these houses based off their magic ability,or more like skill,and the whole series is them trying to defeat villains and dealing with different issues."

"that sounds cool",he hummed to himself,"gotta look into it."

the two carried on with their small talk,sipping their coffee and soon they both finished their coffee.small talk continued for another 5 minutes or so before the two got themselves ready,nixxiom paid and the two left together,hand in hand.

"so...was this a date?",melissa asked nixxiom cautiously."yeah..im sure.",nixxiom smiled at her.the two got into his car and they made their way to melissa's apartment complex.the ride was silent,in a good way.

when they got there,nixxiom offered for melissa to take his hand and she accepted.the two walked up to the door.

nixxiom leaned down and planted his lips to melissa's beak.it was a different expierence,but he really didnt mind.

melissa blushed deeply and kissed back.she soon pulled away out of nervousness,but was still,all in all,happy with this.

"well,love you,nix"

"love you too,missy,hope you had fun"

"yeah..I did",she smiled softly as she saw him enter his car and drive off.as he started his car,he winked at her.

it was nice.
