Taehyung was stuck in traffic - again.
Then again, when was he not?
It was okay, though, since he had RM to listen to.
Who's RM? Only the most famous rapper in the world- okay, maybe he wasn't that famous. But definitely the most famous in Korea.
He was listening to his most recent song, Do You. And yes, he was shamelessly singing along and dancing to it on repeat.
"Haters gon hate and players gon play. Mufuckas keep mufuckin all day. Follow my shit, my friend, and I'll pay-"
His performance was interrupted by a frantic knocking on his window.
He looked over and almost peed himself.
At his window, frantically knocking, was the one and only RM.
"No fucking way," Taehyung muttered to himself.
He rolled his window down, turning off the radio, staring perplexed at his idol.
"I know this is really inconvenient, but do you think I could hitch a ride?" He asked, in his beautiful voice.
He was looking around nervously, which also made Tae nervous.
"Uh, what?" He asked, not sure if he heard correctly.
"I'll pay you! I just, I need to get away from the paparazzi and fans. Please let me in, I was able to get away for a second but they're probably gonna be back any second now."
Taehyung unlocked his doors, "get in the passenger side."
RM thanked him quickly, before running in front of the car and climbing in the passenger seat.
"How much do you wan-"
"You don't have to pay me," Tae said immediately.
RM looked at him, "Why not? It's the least I could do."
Taehyung shook his head, "I'm literally your biggest fan, you definitely don't need to pay me."
Tae suddenly noticed a huge group of people looking around - the fans and paparazzi.
RM sunk into his seat, hoping they wouldn't somehow spot him.
The traffic finally let up, so the cars were finally able to move.
Taehyung glanced at RM, who was grinning at him.
"What?" Tae asked, blushing as he tried to focus on the road.
"You're a fan?" RM asked.
"Uh...that's a joke question, right? Of course I'm a fan! You're RM! You're the most awesome person on the planet!"
RM laughed, his cheeks pinking slightly from the praise, "I think that's a little over exaggerating it. But, thank you for thinking so highly of me."
Tae grinned, mentally pinching himself to make sure this was actually happening.
"I'm Taehyung, by the way," he introduced himself.
"You can call me Namjoon," RM said.
Tae glanced at him, raising an eyebrow.
"Is that your actual name?" He asked.
"Yes. I always go by RM, or Rapmon, whatever. But my actual name is Namjoon."
Taehyung nodded. He was actually freaking out inside, because RM just told him his actual name. Only his friends knew what it was.
"How long have you been a fan?" Namjoon asked curiously.
Taehyung blushed, "since you very first debued eight years ago, of course. You should have seen my room back at my parents house. Every square inch of space was covered in your posters. My parents didn't get why I was so obsessed with you - this was before you were really known. I think you only had a few thousand fans. Anyway, I always knew you'd be big one day."
Taehyung honestly didn't know why he was telling all of this to him. Later, once he wasn't in a daze from just meeting RM, Namjoon, his favourite person in the world and his long-time crush, he'd most likely be kicking his past self (him now) for embarrassing his future self.
"Wow," Namjoon said, staring openly at Taehyung, "I didn't even know I had fans who were as dedicated as you. I assumed all my first fans left when I stopped making pop music and became a rapper."
"Seriously?" Taehyung asked, "I have a group chat with five other fans who have liked you for almost as long as me. Not to brag or anything, but all of them have only known you for seven years, not eight."
Namjoon blushed again, still not looking away from Taehyung.
Taehyung was still trying to focus on driving, trying to ignore the fact that Namjoon hadn't stopped looking at him since he got in the car.
"I'm honored to have such amazing fans. When I first debued, I honestly didn't think I'd get far-" Taehyung scoffed "- and when I became a rapper, I was so scared I'd lose everyone and, boom, that's the end of my career."
"Well," Taehyung started, "your fans don't just like you for your amazing music and choreo's; you're also so fucking kind, and humble. You don't boast about your fame or your money or anything. You actually care about your fans. And, a bonus, you're depressingly handsome."
Namjoon was grinning from ear to ear, his dimples distracting Taehyung slightly, "'depressingly'?" He quoted.
"Yes," Tae sighed, "No one can ever look as good as you."
Namjoon laughed again, blushing a bright red, as he said shyly, "Oh, stop. I think you're also handsome."
Tae looked at him, smirking, which made Namjoon blush, and finally look away from Tae, just to try and hide the blush.
"You think I'm handsome?" Taehyung asked, his confidence having never been this high before.
"Yes," Namjoon said quietly, "I think you're very handsom. And you're also kind. You didn't have to give me a ride."
"Well, when you see Namjoon, you let him get a ride, hm? I didn't take you as a hitchhiker, though," he teased.
Namjoon laughed, smacking his shoulder, "I'm not a hitchhiker, I swear! It was just this once!"
Taehyung laughed, "okay, if you say so. Why were you so desperate to get away from them? Were they harassing you?"
His tone turned serious, as he turned to look at Namjoon.
Namjoon gulped, willing his blush away, "no, I just get anxious sometimes. And today I've been very anxious, and with them all crowding around me asking me so many things at once, I just had to leave."
Taehyung reached over and patted Namjoon's thigh, before placing his hand back on the wheel.
"I'm sorry. They need to learn how to respect your personal space and personal life."
Namjoon smiled, nodding, "Yeah, if only it were that simple."
There was a lull in their conversation, and then Taehyung noticed he was driving down his own street. He also noticed he had never asked Namjoon where he was supposed to take him.
"Oh my god," he said loudly.
"What!" Namjoon asked worriedly, grabbing Taehyung's shoulder.
"I was so caught up in the conversation that I never asked where you needed to go, and now we're almost at my house."
Namjoon stared at him for a moment, before he started loudly laughing, a blessing to Taehyung's ears.
Tae looked at him, raising an eyebrow with a slight smile, "what's so funny?"
"Nothing," Namjoon said, "I think it's just funny."
Tae nodded, pulling into his driveway with a grin.
"Well," he started, "do you want to come in? Have some tea? Or coffee?"
"That would be great, actually. I usually have coffee after I've been anxious."
Tae nodded again, getting out of the car and quickly walking around it, holding the door open for Namjoon, who blushed and giggled.
Taehyung wished he could hear the giggle again; he's never heard anything so beautiful before.
Tae unlocked his door, allowing Namjoon to enter first.
They left their shoes at the door, before heading to the kitchen.
"I don't have much coffee supplies, but you can use whatever you want in yours," Tae told him, showing him where everything was.
Namjoon simply put two sugars in.
They sat together on Taehyung's couch, enjoying each other's company in silence as they drank their coffee, in Namjoon's case, and tea, in Tae's case.
Tae caught Namjoon staring at him, causing the older to blush and look away.
Tae smiled.
When they finished, Tae stood up, "let me take that for you."
He reached for Namjoon's mug, their fingers brushing.
Namjoon blushed, and Tae smiled.
He took their mugs to the kitchen, before coming back.
Namjoon was looking around the room, his cheeks pink, as he fiddled with his sleeves.
"Are you alright?" Tae asked, placing a hand on the older's shoulder.
"Yes," Namjoon replied quickly, "I'm okay."
Tae nodded.
He started to retract his hand, but Namjoon grabbed it, staring at Tae with wide, nervous eyes, before leaning forward and kissing Tae square on the mouth.
Tae's eyes went wide, and he didn't kiss back due to the shock.
Namjoon took it the wrong way, because he pulled back as soon as he realized it was one sided.
"S-Sorry! I shouldn't have come on to you like that, I don't know what I was thinking, I know we just met and you're a fan of me so you're probably freaked out. I-I'm just gonna go-"
Namjoon's rambling was in the back of Tae's head. The younger was too busy processing the fact that his long time crush, who happened to be his idol, had just kissed him.
But, upon hearing Namjoon tell him he was gonna leave, watching the man stand up, Tae snapped out of his trance.
"No!" He yelled, grabbing Namjoon's waist to force him back on to the couch next to Tae.
Namjoon gasped, but it was cut off when Taehyung kissed him hard, only for a few seconds, before leaning back, staring at Namjoon hopefully.
"I didn't mean to make it seem as if I didn't want you to kiss me; I was just shocked, because yes, you've been my idol since the very beginning of your career; but because I've been a fan of you for that long, I've also grown to like you more than a regular fan should like their idol."
Namjoon blushed at Taehyung's confession.
"So, I didn't force myself on to you?" He asked.
Tae shook his head, "God, no, I loved it. No matter how short it was, or...how I didn't kiss back the first time."
Taehyung blushed, scratching the back of his neck.
"You didn't kiss me just because I'm RM?" Namjoon asked, his voice smaller than usual.
"Namjoon," Tae said seriously, grabbing Namjoon's hands, "didn't you hear what I said? I've liked you for years. I've always known there was something different about you. I would never play with anyone's feelings, whether they were famous or not. Now, I don't know why you kissed me, I don't know if it was only a one time thing, but I'm glad I was able to experience that intimacy at least once."
Namjoon was quiet for a moment, staring down at their joined hands.
Tae was comfortingly stroking his thumbs over Namjoon's knuckles, and it calmed his racing heart down.
Honestly, he didn't know exactly why he had kissed Tae. That's never happened before.
Like Tae had said, there was just...something about him.
The way Tae talked about him, in the car, so open, so fond. It was like he was talking to his friend, not his idol of eight years. He was calm, and his aura was so comforting.
It felt as if Namjoon could run into his arms whenever he was stressed, and Tae wouldn't judge him-
"Namjoon?" Tae's worried voice floated into Namjoon's brain, cutting of his, honestly, embarrassing and creepy sudden train of thought.
Namjoon looked up and met the others eyes.
"I don't want that kiss to only happen once," Namjoon said, cringing at his weird wording, "I mean, I don't want to only kiss you today- no, I mean- the kiss we just had, I don't want it to be our last. God, I'm never this much of a mess, I don't know what's wrong with me."
Namjoon pulled his hands out of Tae's hold, bringing his knees to his chest while he covered his bright red face with his hands.
Taehyung pulled Namjoon into his side, "It's alright. I could never judge you. I think you're cute like this; so nervous and blushy."
Tae poked his red cheek, making Namjoon whine, which caused Tae to chuckle fondly.
"I don't know why I feel this way. We met, what, half an hour ago?"
Tae nodded, and Namjoon sighed, looking up at Taehyung desperately, his head rested on the younger's shoulder.
"What's going on in your head, Namjoon?" Tae whispered.
"I don't know," Namjoon whispered back, "I shouldn't feel this way towards someone I literally just met."
Tae blushed, "maybe we could try going on a date? See where that goes. I would love to try having something with you, but I don't want to rush in, and I know you don't either. Would a date be okay? Would you go on a date with me?"
Namjoon smiled shyly, whispering a 'yes'.
Tae grinned his boxy smile.
"Can I kiss you?" He asked.
Namjoon nodded.
The kiss was so soft, so gentle, so shy. It was only a few seconds, but that was all they needed.
