13- New Beginnings

Over the last few weeks, the mountains in Concordia were livelier than it had ever been. An addition of twenty-two members had miraculously been added to the Ether clan. A huge concern was lifted off Jimin and Dawn's shoulders.

Being the only two members of the Ether clan made them feel lonely, ridiculous and for some reason guilty. They often thought how the clan would prosper and grow with just them and their kids, whenever they did have them.

But now they had so many more members, each of them so wonderful and unique to the Ether clan. It seems that the ability to change eye and now hair colour for some, was a specific trait to that clan. Jimin and Dawn had wolves to relate to in an intrapersonal way that, they could never do with the other wolves.

The empty cabin was now filled with bright energy, chatter and laughter. It seemed like eons ago that the wolves were locked up. Surprisingly enough, being in such a warm and comforting environment that was natural to their biology, the captured wolves were able to heal and adjust in a short span of time.

Many things changed for the better with the wolves. All the alphas met weekly, discussing plans for their packs, how to help each other out. The previous alphas held these pack meetings also, using it to catch up with the other packs and be notified of threats.

It was a way to bond and reinforce the relationship between clans. The current alphas never saw the reason for such meetings before this. All of them lived mundane lives and moreso felt broke without all the clans attending.
But now that many of them had mates and the ether clan had been reinstated and founded, the wolves of Concordia had found purpose to live. They continued with renewed vigor and robust energy.

Normal tasks were carried out in a new light. Hope and possibility blooming.

The baren mind and hearts of the lonely wolves were now bursting and blossoming with seedlings of happiness and camaraderie.

Wolves from all clans met up, which is something they never bothered with before. It was like experiencing a new part of a world they were in. They saw things in a different light.

The members would meet up for friendly duels and racing. They would do alot of tasks together, enjoying each other's company. They would brawl and wrestle. Joke and laugh. Exchange stories and share tips on how to do simple things.

The dullness that once hung over them, now dissappeared. Perpetual rainbow and sun seemed to shine over.

Jungkook, Ethan, Clive, Alfred and Edmond hung out one such afternoon. The Earth clan was growing seedlings for the next harvest and some of the other wolves came over to help and hang out.

The watched with fascination how Jungkook planted carrot and beetroot seeds and minutes later it began to sprout ever so slightly. This was something that usually took a few days. The growing process was a tad shorter for the Earth wolves.

Clive carefully watered the seedlings. Making sure not to drown them out.
They spent the rest of the day just talking and relaxing in the shade. It wasn't particularly sunny or hot, but remaining in the cooler parts kept them from tiring out excessively. They raced each other down the hilly areas, boying grins spread across their faces.

It was Ethans idea so see who could run the fastest without shifting. Clive and Alfred had tied first with the others coming in second.

They howled and guffawed in excitement. They sat down sprawled on the ground. Jungkook, Clive and Alfred sitting back against trees with their knee propped up. Edmond and Ethan under the shade of enormous gum trees, lying on their backs, knees bent up with their legs spread out wide. Relaxing and making casual talk. It was something they never had nor did they consider prior to this.

Just being among others, having contact and someone to talk to was so healing.
They felt as if they reached their peak of happiness. The five of them had dosed off in the woody parts of the mountain, waking up couple of minutes later.

"I wonder what it would be like to be mated...?" Clive thought out loud.
The others considered this, they themselves curious. "Hmm I dunno, apparently you feel..... full? Whatever that means." Jungkook commented having being told that by two alphas.

"They walk around smiling more, they relax more... Like a pain is sort of gone?" Alfred commented, from what he observed. He had warmed up to Olivia, becoming accustomed to having a female presence in his space.

"Whatever it is, all I know is, when our Alpha gets mated. It's going to be a HUGE change for us wolves of water..." Edmond replied. He kicked at a small rock.

All the alphas had been mated except Duri. He wasn't complaining but inside he hoped to find her soon.

The water wolves were free spirited. Duri let them be. He didn't have any routine or structure. Feeling sympathetic to them since the war, he never forced or asked them anything. Duri simply let things unravel and occur as it did.

Hearing how women are and what the other wolves talked about made Edmond and the other water wolves fur stand up.
For most wolves, having someone provide order and habit was wholesome and made them feel cared for.

But the Water tribe hesitated and dreaded the idea of that routine and structured life. They often found themselves praying to nature that, when and if they met their mate it would be with someone who didn't choke and strangle the fun out of life.... as they put it.

"Women are truly a funny species, its like witchcraft really. They smell clean all the time. They look well and nice. They always neat and tidy. They have softer voices, smaller more accident prone bodies. Its so odd. They like similar to us, but like more sensitive and stuff." Ethan commented, noting the stark difference to how males usually were.

Being surrounded by males and brooding masculinity had left a deep imprint of how he thought life should be.
He couldn't fathom how or why they found things heavier to hold or harder to do. Why they got exhausted so quickly and howcome they always worried about finer detail he'd just brush over.

"Why they so odd?" Ethan asked, slightly annoyed.

Edmond, the beta of the water tribe shrugged, "I don't know. We only discovered about these kind of people like what? A month ago..?"

"What ever it is, Ethan aren't you closer to the alphas age than the rest of us?" Alfred asked, leaning forward and resting his hand on his propped up knee.

"Yeah, a few years less. What about you Clive?" Ethan asked his fellow omega.
Clive was old enough to remember the war, he was a big pup when it occurred. "Yeah I am closer in age to our Alpha. I'll be sixty this year" he said grinning.

"That means you could find a mate like tomorrow..." Jungkook commented, making the entire group die down to silence.

He shrugged, large eyes pooling with innocence. "I know any of us could be mated. But if you noticed a pattern, the older wolves are being mated first. Duri is youngest from the Alphas." He reasoned fairly.

Edmond blanched, mind spiraling in denial, "Yeah but like only a few weeks or months in difference. He needs to find a mate first, not any of us..." he said, panicking internally.

"Honestly, I am just happy like this." Ethan said spreading his hands out, gesturing to the other wolves and them relaxing.

"Yeah!", "Yes exactly!" The others agreed.

The afternoon rolled out, and the wolves returned back home, starving.

Edmond, the beta of the wind tribe.

Hwan and Lora stood in the kitchen, covered in flour. The edge of Hwans sleeves wet with milk. He wanted to spend time with Lora, doing everything they could together. Eating, sleeping, chores, cooking, bathing.....

They were currently baking. In two days time a get together was planned and all the wolves were going to meet and celebrate the refounding of the Ether tribe and the beginning of their life since the alphas were mated. It was a party to meet and mingle. A promise to never live in solitude and be away from each other every again.

Lora wanted to make an assortment of tarts, but to her chagrin, the plan had not been going through very well.
Hwan stood behind her massaging her shoulders, comfortingly.

"We could always try tomorrow..." he said, promising to make these again with her. "No, we won't have enough time then. I want to make enough, we're cooking for wolves! Bigger appetite!" She stressed the last of her words.
He huffed a laugh out, resting his chin on her shoulder, "I know... I am one too." He said, placing a kiss on her cheek.

She looked around helplessly. He didn't like seeing her like that. Blaze walked in, coming back from an errand. Taking in the mess he stifled a little laugh. He smiled at the two, admiring how sweet they were. His alpha had changed since he mated, but it was for the better.

He smiled, the wrinkles on his forhead from frowning dissappeared. He was less grumpy and more understanding.
He was easier to be around. Not to mention he saw things more positively.

"What's wrong?" Blaze asked his alpha. Hwan bit his lip, shrugging. He didn't want to upset Lora. Catching on Blaze nodded and excused himself. "I have someone I need to send a howl to..." he said backing out of the room and swiftly walking away, long legs striding off confidently.

Hwan squeezed her, sniffing something on her that he found odd.
"You know there's something else we can do to take your mind of things? It kind of rhymes with baking...." he said flirtily. "What?" She said upset and downcast. "It starts with 'B' and is similar to baking..." he said in a sing song way.

"... Broiling? You think using a stove top would be better?" She asked distracted and innocently.
Hwan huffed out, glimpsing away from her for a moment. He caught her and picked her up, laughing devilishly when she gasped. "Baby making." He whispered hotly in her ear.
Carrying her off happily to their room.

Jimin cuddled closer to his mate, smiling to himself. It was so warm and cosy next to her. He wanted to shift and curl up around her. The other wolves were busy,
either eating or hanging out, enjoying the weather.

Jimin seized the opportunity to spend time with his lovely mate. She was exhausted from standing on her feet and helping out with the preparation for their get together. She helped make decorations, saying that it would make the place look pretty.

She had made the wolves lunch, feeling that, it would be nice to care for them.
Thereafter, she marched off to neaten this and tidy that. She contacted a few others and made plans on where to hold the gathering.

By the time the night came and Jimin looked around for her. Intent on stopping her and making her rest, he had found her fast asleep.
Smiling to himself he closed their door and slid in next to her.

She smelt different, was she sick? He knew stressing like this would do no good. He placed a hand around her, cuddling closer. A smile broke free, spreading wide on his face. Things felt perfect. He had a family he never thought he'd have. His eyes changed to a lilac, happy and content with everthing.

He felt like howling but it would wake Dawn. He wondered if she knew. Placing his hand around her stomach he felt it was swollen. Her hormones were different. She was pregnant.

He wanted to wake her up and tell her, but didn't want to risk seeing a grumpy mate scowl at him. They were going to be so wonderful his pups. He knew it. He nuzzled her neck and hair, breathing in her scent. And that's when he caught it.

Slightly more than usual and higher than necessary, her scent was stronger with these knew hormones. It meant she was more than a few months in and with multiples at that.

It wasn't just dinner for two when she ate, it was more. He hugged her gently, causing her to stir. He got up, suspending his weight on his arm. "Hey momma..." he said smiling. She rubbed her eyes looking at him funny.

He placed a hand over her stomach and rubbed gentle circles. Whispered, "Love you." She eyed him curiously. "What's wrong Jimmy?"
"Nothing, just really happy. Hard work paid off..." he said, smiling dazed and goofy at her.

She sat up, shifting to vet comfortable.
"Hungry?" He asked, "Ravenous!" She exclaimed, making him grin.
"I have something to tell you, I can't wait!" Jimin said, smiling brightly.
"Okay, sure..." she said a little unsure of where this was going.
He inhaled sharply, letting his excitement out "We're pregnant!"
He stared at him quietly. "...."
"Honey we're pregnant!!" He screamed excitedly.
Jimin was met with a shrill irritated scream. She flung a pillow at him and ground her teeth growling.

"You saw? You saw the box?!" She yelled looking scared and mad. The pregnancy hormones going off like a siren.

Jimin lifted his hand up in surrender.
"No, honey wait. It's your scent. Your hormones they're different." Dawn halted her tantrum. She calmed down and averted her gaze, she whispered "Oh, I see."

She reached for a little gift box that was left on the drawer next to the bed.

She handed it to him. "I wanted to give this to you after dinner. I was kind of hoping to surprise you, but that didn't go so well. Sorry hunny." She said, apologizing. She hugged him and kissed his cheek.

Jimin opened the box and found little baby socks with paw prints. "I am way over due for my cycle and I feel different. I waited till I was certain to tell you..." She explained.
"Awwww honey......" Jimin hugged her, pressing a kiss on her head.

"Now would be a good time to tell you, wolves can pick up their mates scent. We know when you stressed, sad, happy, lying to us, pregnant and also when you are ovulating... so I will know. But seeing these make me smile and the feeling is all brand new again." Jimin explained. He gestured the the little socks and smiled.

"You should tell me stuff like this next time. I was worried and waited for the right moment to tell you." She said softly.

"Love, male wolves play a very important part. We can tell first sometimes, before you feel it. Also depending on your hormones, we will know how many pups there will be. It is our job to protect you two, so we have to know first!" He said sweetly, explaining to Dawn.

Tears slipped down her face, she smiled through them. Jimin pulled her in for a huh. Rubbing soothing circles on her lower back.
"We're going to be parents!" She exclaimed in awe and excitement.
Jimin squeezed her lightly, he pulled away, placing a hand over hers which was on her abdomen, "Yeah..." was all he managed, overcome with emotion.

King Yoongi sat in his private gardens, with Nora. The two of them spent hours talking. Sharing their views on different topics and learning about each other and how the other thought. She was firm, straight forward and didn't like delaying anything. If she wanted something, she was determined and would try herself.

He had calmed down and reverted back to his sweet, calm, refined disposition. The shock and reaction to finding his soulmate wearing out. Each time he looked at her, he was taken aback with hoe striking she was. Her features, her pouty mouth. Her intelligent eyes, that shone with knowing and understanding.
Now that he thought about it. Fealies reacted quiet excessively and were expressionate when they found their one true soulmate.

Usually calm and indifferent, they only felt outraged, annoyed, excessively happy and possesive when they saw their consort for the first time. It usually calmed down after a day of being with them uninterrupted.

The more he spoke with her, the more he realised how perfect she was. She added a thrill to his otherwise dull mundane existence.

She looked at the sky, staring intently. Looking down she smiled softly, "Looks like more will be joining us..." she said cryptically. Raising an eyebrow at her consort and smiling with amusement.

The female Fealie and consort of the Fealie King usually formed first. It was a powerful occurence. She alone had the energy to encourage the forming of other females of their kind. And her prophecies were set in stone. Few as they were, they were unchangeable, unlike that of the male Fealie who could help and prevent events from happening or turning drastic.

"Let's go spend some time in the library... I'll get any book for you." Yoongi said smiling at her. He wanted her to feel comfortable and used to the palace. He led her to the library, holding her hand.
"What was that book you wanted..."
The two walked in, both the epitome of poise and grace, robes flowing beautifully in silky waves, the trail sweeping behind flawlessly.
