cooking with him (requested)
One particular afternoon on a breezy Sunday, you found yourself together with your loving boyfriend Jin lounging on the couch, wrapped in each other's embrace as the both of you watched a Run BTS episode together.
You burst out laughing at your phone screen as a scene with all the BTS members scurrying around from a gang of vicious zombies flashed across your eyes. There weren't any real zombies--just a bunch of actors dressed up as some for the show-- still it was insanely funny to watch the boys scramble around like a flock of lost chickens.
"I can't believe you tried flirting with the zombies to gain their favor!" you chuckled, sinking back into the cushions with your eyes glued to the screen. Jin who was watching the show from over your shoulder couldn't help but grin broadly at your remark.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures, my love," he chuckled before pausing to dramatically sweep a hand through his hair like a bird ruffling its attractive feathers. "Besides, those zombies were definitely charmed to this handsome face."
You giggled again while playfully smacking his arm. A sudden rumble from your stomach interrupted your laughing spree and also caused Jin to shoot you a teasing look.
"Look like someone's a little hungry, aren't you, love?" he snickered playfully, reaching over to playfully prod your tummy with his finger. You chuckled moving to give your tummy a soft pat.
"Yeah, I guess I am starving," you grumbled lazily as the rumbles of your tummy only grew louder and more desperate. Jin smiled and nodded at your remark.
"Actually, me too!" he said. "I still can't believe that our usual pizza place shut down a week ago. Otherwise, I definitely would have ordered a pizza for us to share on our Run BTS marathon."
"Yeah, too bad," you murmured a bit disappointed. Jin sensed your gloomy mood and his mind raced with thoughts on how he could make your frown turn upside down. Suddenly, he was struck by a genius-or should I say- a Jinius idea! He grinned widely before taking your hand in his and giving it an exciting squeeze.
"Tell you what, honey!" he said. "How about I make a pizza for us right now? Eat Jin's special."
You couldn't help but find yourself grinning at his incredible suggestion, especially since everyone knew how great of a chef your boyfriend was. "That sounds amazing, honey!" you giggled, shifting from the couch to get onto your feet. "Let's get started right away!"
Jin blinked at your eagerness and the idea of you suggesting that they both cook together. "Um? Cooking together, sweetheart? Are you sure?" he said in a teasing tone as he eyed you mischievously. "Remember the last time you tried to cook for me when you were sick? You almost left the stove on the entire night."
You scoffed before rolling your eyes at his comment. "I did not!" you protested offended. There was a brief silence as Jin flashed you a knowing look. You sighed before crossing your arms in front of your chest stubbornly. "Okay, maybe I did...one time. But that was only because I was in a rush to take care of you."
Jin chuckled, his heart warming at the sight of how much you loved and cared for his well-being. "I know, baby," he softly said. "But I think I should cook this time. Maybe you should leave the stuff to the expert, you know? But how about you scroll through YouTube to find us another Run BTS video to watch while I finish making the pizza?"
"No!" you pouted cutely and slightly stamped your foot down making Jin amused at your stubborn reaction. You continued urging him to change his mind. "I can cook and I want to cook with you! Nothing bad will happen since you're gonna be there for me!"
Jin sighed, getting up from the couch before pinching the bridge of his nose. "Aish, this girl. I-"
"Please?" you pleaded giving him the best puppy eyes you could muster. You decided to place the final card that always seems to seal the deal around your boyfriend. "I want to cook with someone so irresistibly handsome as you..."
At your final set of words, Jin could hardly hold back the fits of chuckles that hit him. Though he felt his ego inflate at the fact of you calling him 'irresistibly handsome', he was also all too familiar with the little mind games you would play on him to get your pretty little way.
He sighed before smiling and taking your hands in his. "Fine," he chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. "You can cook with me. But only because you're too cute for my heart to refuse."
"Yay!" you squealed, giving a tiny clap before bouncing off into the way of the kitchen. Jin's eyes followed you out of the living room, his hands on his hips and his head shaking from side to side at your little antiques. "What am I gonna do with this girl?" he sighed to himself with a faint smile.
In the kitchen, Jin handed you a light blue apron for you to wear. You stared at the apron in your hands for a while before shooting Jin a questioning glance. "Why aprons? That is just used for fancy stuff in cooking shows and all, you know?" you said.
Jin, on the other hand, had already started draping his own apron over his body before reaching his hands to tie the strings behind his back. He chuckled at your comment and the way you eyed the apron as if it were a radioactive substance.
"When you cook with me, we're doing everything by the book, baby," he said, finally finishing tying his apron before approaching you with a smile. "Besides, since we're making a pizza, there's gonna be a lot of flour involved so we do need some protective covering."
You pursed your lips and sighed. Jin chuckled at your endearingness before moving closer to you to take your apron in his hands. "Here, let me help you with that." he offered gently, slowly spinning you around so that your back was facing towards him.
He then draped the apron over your head before taking the strings that hung loosely by the side on either hand and tying them carefully behind your back, securing the apron tight around you. Before he pulled away from you, however, he didn't forget to press a sweet tender kiss to the nape of your neck.
"There, all done," he murmured softly into your ear, his lips softly brushing against the sensitive skin on your neck. You couldn't help but giggle at his sweet and romantic gesture before flipping around to softly press your lips to his cheek making him go pink in the face for a minute.
He briefly shook his head before clearing his throat abruptly to get himself back on track. "Yeah, we should get started now." he grinned, walking over to the main station and pulling out various pots and pans along with basic ingredients.
"Let's do this!" you giggled, rubbing your hands together eagerly.
The afternoon passed with the two of you being quite busy in your cooking spree. With his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, Jin paused in his heavy kneading of the dough to wipe his brow for a second. His eyes flickered over to see you at the counter with a concentrated frown on your face as you worked on chopping the onions. Just very slowly.
He chuckled to himself, proud to see how hardworking you were even in the simplest tasks but he also had this burning desire to wind you up. He came to a halt by your side, eyeing you with a mischievous grin.
"Ladies and gentlemen. The camera shifts to our esteemed onion slicer over here," he announced in the exaggerated silly voice of a cooking show host. You rolled your eyes, choosing to ignore him as you focused on carefully inching your fingers away from the knife as you cut the onion into slices. Jin continued with his cheeky demeanor.
"Will she be done before the commencement of the 23rd century? Only time will tell!"
"Hey, quit it!" you finally snapped, your fists balling by your sides in annoyance. Jin couldn't help bursting into fits of laughter at your adorable annoyed expression.
"I thought it would help you," Jin protested between deep chuckles, making you pout before turning to grab the knife and continue cutting the onions. Jin observed how you handled the knife before he noticed something.
"Here, try this," he offered before coming behind you and taking the hand in which you were holding the knife in his. Resting his hand on top of yours, he adjusted its position by tilting the angle of your wrist and moving your fingers.
"This way of handling the knife would put less strain on your wrist and make it easier for you to chop faster," he explained as he pulled back from you after showing you the right way of holding.
You gave him a brief nod before hesitantly cutting the onions using his new method. A smile graced your lips at how much lighter the knife felt in your hands compared to before. "It works!" you exclaimed to him, making him grin in agreement.
"That's my girl!" he grinned reaching out to give your shoulder a soft squeeze. "You're actually a faster learner than Namjoon, I must say."
After pressing a soft kiss to your cheek, Jin went over to resume his tiring task of kneading the dough.
Soon after the chopping of the necessary ingredients and the dough had been perfectly kneaded and spread flat to form the shape of a perfect circle, Jin focused on pre-heating the oven while you were at the stove, busy stirring the special sauce to be spread on the pizza.
As you carefully stirred the contents of the pan with the mildly warm steam blowing in your face, you felt a pair of strong and masculine arms wrap themselves around your waist from behind. You giggled for you were all too familiar with the sensation.
Resting his head on top of your shoulder, Jin held you securely against him from behind before he leaned over to press a flurry of kisses along the nape of your neck. "How's everything going over here, my love?" he murmured lovingly into your ear.
"All good!" you giggled leaning into his touch. "The sauce will be done in a few minutes."
"Oh! Sounds good, my baby." he chuckled, still holding you pressed against him. "Mind if I have a taste?"
You giggled at how adorable he was before nodding. You scooped up some of the sauce from the wooden spoon you were holding and blew on it a bit before holding it up to him. Jin eagerly inched his lips to the spoon before you playfully pulled the spoon away just before he could take a sip.
"Hey!" Jin whined causing you to burst out laughing.
"That's for teasing me for my onion slicing skills." you snickered deviously, making his lips purse into a pout. You giggled before finally letting him have a sip. As soon as Jin had tasted the sauce, his eyes widened and sparkled with delight.
"This is good, my baby!" he grinned, chuckling to himself. "Maybe you do have it in you. Or maybe it's just my worldwide handsome charm rubbing off on you." With that he gave you a sly wink, causing you to playfully whack his arm.
When the time came to put all the toppings on the pizza, Jin offered to spread the sauce over the freshly laid out dough while you scattered the toppings on top.
"I hope we can put more cheese on top." you gushed as you sprinkled more cheese onto the dough. "I love cheese on top."
Jin smirked, eyeing you teasingly. "Do you know what else I love on top, babe?" he smirked giving you a playful wink making your cheeks turn slightly pink from the comment.
As the pizza was laid out inside the oven to bake, you and Jin decided to unwrap yourselves from the aprons and brush off the flour from your hair and face in order to be presentable enough when the time comes to dig in.
When the timer went off, Jin put on his oven gloves before bending down to take the tray that held the steaming pizza inside that looked delicious in all its glory. The melted cheese glistened on top and the aroma was mouthwatering. You couldn't help but grin at the spectacular masterpiece that both Jin and you had made from your amazing sense of teamworking.
As the two of you lounged on the couch watching another Run BTS episode while being cuddled up together, you dug into the pizza together. As the two of you savored the taste of all your hard work, Jin leaned down to press a tender kiss to your head.
"You know, baby." he whispered giving you a soft smile. "Our love is just like this pizza; its best when its hot and cheesy. And I'll never crust anyone as much as I crust you!"
You giggled at his puns finding them so endearing before snuggling into his arms while sighing. You couldn't have agreed more with him.
