Being a waited was tiring.
You hated it.
Guys would randomly come and and attempt to make a pass on you day in and day out.
You always wondered why they did. Maybe out of pride or to show off to their friends?
It was never certain.
One thing it was though, annoying.
That or you'd get those random ass customers who felt entitled to “the customer is always right,” bullshit.
“Ugh.. Another day, another another hell like day…” you sighed, walking down the street and turning into a small restaurant.
It was Christmas time, and like usual, you were working the day shift, something that had become a tradition ever since your four years working there.
I mean, it was a decent job with good pay, and the manager was a nice person. Plus, it was an all female staff, all but the cashier being young women between the ages of 16 and 24.
It was like family, especially I'm such a big city where none of your relatives lived.
You ran into the locker room After walking in thought he back door of the place, taking out your uniform before changing into it.
“Hurry up Y/N, we have full house tonight!” your manager yelled joyfully, peering inside the locker room to see if you had arrived or not.
“Sure thing ma’m,” you responded as eagerly as she had.
Working on Christmas morning sounded like a bad idea, but the pay was extra good since it was one of the few places opened all day in the first place.
You tied your apron behind your back, grabbing your hat and placing your pen and note bad in the small pocket holder that was sewed onto your apron.
“Table three just got 4 customers, could you take that table?” your close friend and staff member asked, pointing you in the direction of a table near the window of the store.
You nodded, immediately taking out your notepad and pen to begin taking orders.
You grabbed a couple menus from the counter, placed your hair behind your ear, and walked forward, ignoring the witty remarks your coworkers were making of the people who were seated at your table.
Sighing, you walked over to them and placed the menus in front of them, not looking up at them and simply saying the usual things you said to customers.
You could tell they were guys, their voices and laughter making your stomach turn.
Were they there to flirt like the other guys?
Were they going to be obnoxiously annoying and start hitting on all the waiters, getting drunk and disrespectful?
No… They weren't.
As soon as you got there they ordered their food and sent you on your way to pick up their drinks.
They didn't even say anything witty or cheesy.
You was surprised, finally taking a glance at them and checking them out, mostly because you were curious what your coworkers had seen.
They were all quite handsome, all of them wearing stylish clothes and laughing at each other except for one who simply crossed his arms and rolled his eyes as another laughed out as if someone was cleaning a window.
“Shut it Jin, you sound like an idiot with those remarks.”
“Oh come on Yoongi, lighten up. We came here to have fun didn't we? Plus, we have a day off without the maknae line, let's enjoy our food and head on out to buy them their presents,” said the one with a huge sunshine grin on his face.
“Two Pepsi’s, pink lemonade, and water, is that correct gentlemen?” you asked, interrupting them briefly.
They nodded, your eyes catching a glimpse of each one of them more clearly.
They were gorgeous, their skin smooth and glistening, their eyes shining brightly, and their smiles sweet and kind.
“Thank you,” they said in unison, all of them bowing politely at you before continuing in their conversation.
They were so sweet that they made your heart flutter, but one of them caught your attention from the rest.
He was wearing a white cable knit sweater, his head up and spiked while his eyes began focusing on his hands. That's when you noticed that he kept fumbling with his straw, accidentally breaking it and ending up with two pieces in each hand.
He sighed in defeat, scratching his head out of frustrating.
You giggled, taking out another straw from your bag and handing it to him opened.
“Thank you,” he answered shyly, looking away as the rest of the guys began to tease him.
You bowed away, walking to finish up other tables while their food was done cooking.
Throughout the small ten minutes you were walking around he kept staring at you, giving you smiles and avoiding your gaze the couple of times you caught him.
It was cute.
“Hey Y/N, help me hang this!” one of your coworkers yelled, distracting you from what you we're doing.
You had been cleaning an empty table while you wait for table 3’s food, when suddenly she caught your attention.
You put the supplies down, looking over to see if the food was ready, which it wasn't, so you continued on you way towards her.
Finally reaching her, you notice the mistletoe she was hanging up by the tree where many couples took pictures at.
It was a tradition there.
You grabbed another mistletoe, looking for a different place to put it, when you heard the cook call your table.
“Foods ready for table 3!” she yelled.
Immediately, you pinned the mistletoe to your hair and grabbed a hold of the food for table 3, turning back to tell your coworker you'd pin it up later.
Walking over to table three, you placed their orders in front of each one of them.
As you finished placing the last plate in front of the dark haired guy, the mistletoe fell in front of your faces, the guys around you beginning to blush hard.
He simply grinned mischievously, before looking away.
“Oh sorry, I was going to pin that up somewhere in the restaurant,” you added, hoping to give an excuse to why it was in your hair.
“No problem,” he blushed, the rest of the guys whispering to each other while you attempted to pull the mistletoe back .
You ran towards the counter once you were done, avoiding eye contact with them while placing the tray in the back.
“Wow, missed your chance to kiss such a hunk,” your manager whispered, helping with the final Christmas decorations as you made your way back to the front.
“I guess… He is pretty cute,” you mumbled.
You continued on your way, most of the time going over to check up on your tables specifically the one with the cute guy on it.
Finally they finished, all of them standing up and walking towards the door.
“Wait… Before you go, would you like to take a picture for the Christmas tree?” Your manager offered, handing you the camera.
The men grabbed a hold of the one with dark hair, pushing him towards you while nodding.
“He'd love to!”
“Great! Once the picture is out you can write something on the back!” Your manager added.
He reluctantly accepted, posing for you so that you could take the picture.
“Say cheese!”
“Cheese!” He said, grinning at your remark.
After the photo came out, it took you a couple minutes to show it to him.
He nodded, the rest of the guys taking the picture from him and beginning to write something on it, followed by them pushing him to write something as well.
He handed you the picture, pausing before walking with the guys to kiss your cheek, and smiled.
“Merry Christmas…” he mumbled and then ran off.
You were left in awe until your manager came from behind you and took the picture from your hands.
“He thinks you're cute.
He thinks you're cute.
You should totally start talking to him.
Hey, sorry about them, they are weird guy. Since I come here often, how about I invite you for some coffee next time? Here's my number in case you want to set up something-”
You quickly took the picture from her hands and turned it around to see exactly what she was reading.
“By the way, the name is Namjoon,” you read to yourself, smiling happily.
“So, planing on hanging that up on the tree?” Your manager asked.
You shook your head.
“I'm planning on going on a date with that fine gentleman who came in and stole a kiss from me.”
