Why?

Namjoon would mostly be because he's extremely busy during the holidays that he'd simply have no time to and either forget it, or simply remember last minute.

Jungkook would be careless, not remembering that it was Christmas/the holidays. He'd simply be too caught up with the things he had to do, such as fan signs, to even remember when he last ate.

Taehyung like Namjoon, would remember last minute, due to busy schedule. He'd have something in mind to buy you, but would complete forget when it came to actually buying you the present.

Jimin would forget because... He was actually really excited and wanted everything to be perfect that day, but he'd simply not remember. It would go something along the lines of "I think I'm missing something, but I just can't remember what..."

Seokjin, Yoongi, and Hoseok would have probably bought the present the month before, all three of them knowing they'd forget the day of. Seokjin would buy it bc he'll want something in return (sass master af). Yoongi would buy it bc he probably forgot the year before and felt guilty. Hoseok would pretty much have a reminder of it all over the place, from sticky notes on his computer to many alarms and reminders on his calendar/agenda.
